  • CHANKYA WAS A GREAT BHRAMIN .I ADMIRE HIM A LOT

  • we need a Chanakya in this century.. that too atleat 100

  • @kalkibhagwan 100 chanakyas will fight each other till the world is destroyed

  • good example...

  • In the original writings Sage Kalyan told Alexander that he does not need so much land to prove himself to be an Emperor - the only land that he needs is that on which he stands on. It might seem like a stupid statement. But Alexander understood the inner meaning of the Sage's words ie. true conquest is measured by how much one has conquered oneself within and not others without. Alexander stopped his physical conquest and turned back to Greece but alas! he died on the way at Babylon.

  • @daguangrong Actually Porus faught Alexander to a standstill and then Alexander gave him some lands.

  • I think this old man has taken weed

  • @paneerdodi2 Please verify. If the old man has taken weed, that would give weed a good name.

  • Alexander died a horrible death and his empire fell right after his death

    What did he achive??

    nothing

  • @GrandmasterTigerfist He did make it into the history books.

  • @82abhilash :

So Hitler did ..... but one day will come when people will forget these names too, not a big deal ;) :D

  • @vimawa I am not sure that it is a good idea to forget these names.

  • @82abhilash :

am agree to u but it will happen in future for sure. u and i will not be there to prove my point. check the history and then u will realize what am saying is truth :)

  • @vimawa Ok then. Give me the name of a historical figure that was popular once but now is not.

  • @82abhilash :

Sorry, I dont remember those historical figures ... may be because, "they have been FORGOTTEN" ;)

    hahahahaha !!! :D

  • @vimawa I am not counting on your memory. I am calling on your knowledge about history. You said, 'check the history and then u will realize what am saying is truth'. So you know history better than me. So name a historical who was famous in the past but not so in the present.

  • @82abhilash : The first paper known to history was made in around 3500 BC by the ancient Egyptians who used strips from the papyrus reeds which they dampened, made into a criss-cross pattern and pressed into sheets. Our very word paper comes from "papyrus".

Its obvious that this guy who invented the paper (papyrus) must be famous for his invention at that time, if u think I am right then tell me HIS NAME !!!

I DONT REMEMBER SIMPLY BECAUSE HE/SHE NAME HAS BEEN FORGOTTEN :D

  • @vimawa No it is not obvious that the person who invented paper then would have been famous for his invention at the time. People living in different times have different priorities. So you need to establish that the said person was famous then and later forgotten.

  • @vimawa Also papyrus is not exactly paper. It is very similar but not paper. The first paper was invented in China.

  • @82abhilash :

The Kings of Egypt started using it in the beginning, so I assumed the guy must have got attention and fame because of that.

    and

Dont tell me how papyrus looks like ... have u seen Papyrus ???

  • @vimawa There is a similarity in names but paper and papyrus are not the same thing and must not be used interchangeably. Now obviously the Chinese did not call their paper as paper, but they actually had it. Maybe papyrus can be called proto-paper, but the modern paper has its origin in China.

  • @vimawa Now to deal with your speculation. There is no good reason to think that the person who invented papyrus was famous during their time. In fact there is no reason to think that only one person was responsible for inventing it. Admit it, you do not have a good example. You said 'check the history and then u will realize what am saying is truth'. And I called your bluff.

  • @82abhilash:

Ok I am agree and saying that the guy who has not even seen the papyrus giving me lecture on that ... good for u brother !!!

    Who invented the Zero ???

Who made ARYAN invasion theory which u have learn in the school???

  • @vimawa How do you know that I have to seen papyrus? Why is seeing it in any way relevant when discussing about the supposed person who invented it? If seeing is that important I can also give such stupid arguments, like this - 'I am being lectured by the guy who has not even seen the inventor of papyrus.'

I do not know who invented zero or who made up the ARYAN invasion theory. Do you have a point?

  • @82abhilash < All languages have come out of Sanskrit especially Europeans ones. Where does Sanskrit still taught ? Paper existed in both India and China first, both countries are way older than what is acknowledged by the historians. Their immortal philosophies : S.Dharma/Taoism is the best.

  • @Zeno1999 Very true - sanskrit is the oldest and purest language.

  • @Zeno1999 In India, there are a number of village communities that use Sanskrit as a daily spoken language. There has been programs sponsored by the Indian government to revive the use of Sanskrit as a daily spoken rather than restricting it as a lithurgical language. According to the census in 1991, there are at least 50,000 fluent speakers of Sanskrit.

  • @MrLantean < Thanks for sharing; closest to Sanskrit is also a dialect of Hindi that is spoken in Mr. BR Chopra's Mahabharata and Shri Sagar's Ramayana series and I think this dialect has beautiful and peaceful attributes.

Revival of any indigenous language would bring back some of the ancient wisdom which we need today and such projects are successful in small villages as large cities look at these as backward step.

  • @daguangrong Nope, the story does not end there.

  • this is pathetic Alexander never spoke english it funny how in india they show every white man speak english...

  • @smarteddie21 There is one scene in which they have Alexander speak in Greek, the scene in which he talks to defeated Porus. I suppose they dropped the idea after that. Greek is so alien a language to Indians.

  • @smarteddie21 This is a TV Series for Indians. Its really not important what language he spoke as long as we know he spoke Greek.

  • @smarteddie21 I guess they show him speaking English since that's atleast a language that can be commonly understood even in India to some extent! How many people would understand Greek and Latin? Then they'd have to keep adding subtitles. In Shakespeare's plays too, they show Greek and Roman characters speaking in English.

  • @smarteddie21 They do mention this in the series before introducing Greeks in the storyline. The producers mentioned that it was because having actors speaking english was easier than to have actors speak Greek. And well, if you look at it from that point of view, they were right. I mean, having Greek actors playing the part of Alexander and his army would have swelled their budget considerably !

  • if he put both his feet on the leather, then his middle part is exposed. very delicate. the leather wouldn't actually do anything but yeah he would get kicked in the balls.

  • @maxten What if he put both his feet in the middle?

  • i was actually talking about the leather representing the world map itself. u know. so but if he did put both his feet in the middle, the sides are left free again.

  • @maxten Maybe he can keep the sides in check if he puts his feet in the middle. Look like that is what Kalyan Rishi was suggesting. Telling that he needs to move to the center of his empire if he wants to keep things in control. Which means away from India. He did just that. It did not work. India went out of control after he left.

  • @82abhilash No, he actually meant that to handle such a vast empire he will always keep busy and will never have peace, he won't have any time to enjoy that empire because all this energy will be spent in managing it.

  • @nisheeth16 He very specifically says in this clip that you must stand at the center to control it.

  • @82abhilash I was talking about what he actually said as per history.

  • LOLZ!!!

da funny thing is Indians r speaking in Hindi & Greeks r speaking in English. They suppose to speak in Sanskrit & Greek respectively. Bcoz its hindi language series they r speaking hindi, but lol @ english spoken by Greeks.

  • @LordPranav in that case bro no one for whom this was intended (local audiences, who understands hindi, & to some extent English) would have understood .......... & the whole production would have been to no use :)

  • Indian guy makes Alexander lol

  • Later, Alexander again attacked Porus with his army, he was defeated & when Porus was about to kill him, he saw the Rakhi tied by his wife & let him go. So, Alexander died on his way back.

See how the west twists facts! True and Bravest Maharaja Porus

  • Yes porus defeated alexander, and i am a descendant of the great Porus, i am proud of my great ancestors

  • Alexander was defeated by Porus the King of Punjab.

Porus could have killed Alexander much before the war when he disguised himself as a messenger, Porus recognized him but he let him go in accordance to vedic law. Porus's wife tied him a rakhi (sacred thread to alexander recognizing & considering him a brother. (see below)

  • Be the master of your mind, controle it. Dont be enslave of your desires, dont let your desires to defeat you.

How you be able to win the earth when you are already defeated by your own desire of winning the whole world.

    May god bless you Alecshenindra.

  • Hey guys is version with english or polish subtitles available?

  • Sage was right... In 326 BC Alexander fought Porus in India and died shortly in 323 BC after his return from India.

  • Let me give u its English meaning...

Sage replied to him showing an example of a piece of leather... you step on one side there will be rise on the other. Symbolic reference to uprisings in his absence... you gain some you lose some.

so real welfare is not in ur desire of conquest... he asked him philosophically to conquer his 'desire' itself, there lies ur real welfare.

btw Earth was not tht small as Alexander imagined... even there is huge land after India

  • Thanks Pal! This movie now makes a lot of sense to me...

  • I find it hard to believe that this would impress the man who opened the Gordian knot..

  • Well, Alexander may not have been familiar with the way Indian philosophers worked. He could have been more confused than impressed. Which is what they are mostly good at to tell you the truth.

  • Another version- he asks "But why are you here" and Alexander is at a loss for words.

  • no we should either have an american or greek american playing : alexander... big mistake...

  • what if he had put both his feet on both ends ?

  • I guess he had too much area to cover.

  • not in terms of the leather map, but yes in terms of his kingdom.

  • If he does so, then he will be "stuck" with his life (because he can't move his feet!). All his freedom will go and what's life without freedom and peace?

  • one man cannot be at two places. he could keep his feet on both end of the leather but it is not possible for alexander to be at two different places of his region at the same time

  • what if he had put both his feet on both ends ? then his arse would have been ripped apart

  • well he said, if you want to control it then you will have to stand in the middle so if Alex was in the middle then he could have controlled.

  • Babylon was in the centre wich he made his capital !

  • Alex cculd not be in two places at once now could he...thats why the he says that he will have to be in the middle, which is what he says in Hindi... and India aint the middle.....so having both his feet on both ends of the 'carpet' which is symbolizing Alex's empire, is not possible.

  • And my idea is that if he stands in the centre, then both the end would rise simultaneously. So in the end, the advice is to control the desire to stand.

  • Actually, the size of empire alexander is SO large ...then where is the GEOMETRIC center ?

And if DEAD skin cannot be controlled, how is he going to control millions of LIVE people ?

  • When power corrupts with insanity greed and destruction great empires fall.....

  • You are defeated by the craving to win and you have come wanting to win the world? control your ambitions Alexander.. only that will do you good

  • Nobody really knows how Alexander died though. Some people think it was malaria but I personally think it was because his generals who were tired of war poisoned him.

  • Highly unlikely. All the sources recorded that Alexander died over a number of days, and there were no slow acting poisons back then. Also, the slapdash manner in which the Diadochi divided his kingdom would suggest that there was no prior planning, as you imply in your theory.

  • actually I watched a show about Alexander's death where helabore was a common medicine and if the dosage of it is too high it kills over a matter of days. Alexander, wanting to invade Arabia very soon probably want to get up and moving around fast so he probably asked his doctors to up the dose of helabore. Back then it wasn't really known that helabore kills people.

  • What is he saying to Alexander? Now I'm curious.

  • He says. "Do you realize where you are? Your days are numbered." Then he throws down the leather piece and asks both the kings to look at it. Then he uses it as a metaphor to explain the state of Alexander's empire. When he suppresses one rebellion, the other side rises, when he goes back to suppress the other the old side rises. If a non-living piece of leather can be so out of control, how can one ever expect to control living people? Then he wishes him lucks and walks away.

  • He ends by saying, " You want to conquer the world, but you are already defeated by your own desire for victory. True victory is victory over your desires." Then he wishes him luck and walks away.

  • I would love to. Do you have any specific scenes in mind?

  • thnks can u add more
