  • @OldSchoolSkill Ehh...not really. If they don't find the evidence then the theory is inaccurate. He talks a lot about how the universe we know couldn't exist, except it does exist, so it's a theoretical problem, not a universal problem.

    Oh, blast it. I was going to refer to Asimov's essay "The relativity of wrong" & split some hairs about people's misconceptions re: how science works. But then I just deleted it all & decided to say that if not finding the Higgs spares us from further bad analogies about Einstein or Maggie Thatcher pushing their way through the room at a cocktail party, then it can't be all bad. ;-)

  • @BabyIYours The 2 clocks on the top rod will read the same time as each other and the 2 on the lower rod will read the same as each other because they are both equidistant from the light source.

    The trailing clock on the moving bar will stop first as seen from the stationary rod reference frame but that only shows that absolute simultaneity does not exist for 2 events at different spacial coordinates.

    This is a known consequence of special relativity.
