  • fuck yeh

  • The sweet fish innards balance very well with the sea urchin roe, I think.

  • 1:17 epic flipping that pancake lol

  • JUST. TOO. EPUC

  • Klan Rally? @2:20

  • at 2:17 look like he wanted to throw up... =.="

  • When he bites the pepper it adds so much to the intro soo beast

  • If memory serves me right, there has never been a greater show than Iron Chef

  • Iron Chef America suck Chairman Kaga FTW

  • This is why I want to be rich.

  • Dear god what happened to this show? This version is the best one in my eyes. The Chairman's looks are classic.

  • Who is the chef with the medal around his neck at 1:10?

  • 0:22

  • Morimoto looks so young in this.

  • Fine Living truely fucked this show up, It's just not the same without this theme...

  • The guy who bites the capsicum also plays the part of Jesus in the Japanese version of Jesus Christ Superstar XD

  • Morimoto is the OG. Or OIC....

  • I hate the new dubbed music found on the Cooking Channel. Like every remake they ever did of a movie, the original is always best.

  • Does anybody know what the name of the music is used from 1:05-1:22?

  • @MoCali123 Yeah, Backdraft soundtrack, don't remember which song in particular

  • Comment removed

  • @MoCali123 Its from the song "Burn it All" from the Backdraft soundtrack

  • This intro is more epic then nearly any other TV show let alone cooking show. This one was much much better then the US version.

  • This was the best theme. I hated the newer theme they made, it was crap.

  • Man I loved watching that show on Food Network. Music, dubbing and all...

BTW, what's the song from 0:29 to 1:03?

  • Are they going to Cook, or Fight to the Death?

  • WHERE'S THE CAPSICUM.

  • i luvd watching this version of iron chef from japan.......the american version definately lacks in flair.

  • body massage machine GO

  • Seriously, I love his shiny shoes stepping into frame 1:48. His "Allez Cuisine" is so much more dignified and diplomatic than Mark Decascos(ICA) version where he just shouts it like he's some crazy samurai. And Decascos is half Hawaiian not Japanese. Stupid ass white bread food network, always insulting my intelligence. Food Network always dubs over Morimoto on Iron Chef America as well. Yes he has an accent but if you listen he makes sense.

  • Watching Iron Chef French and Japanese battle- ingredient lamb, and Maroubra Boys is coming up next on DVD. Wild Saturday night in at Karen Thompson Enterprises - where fantasy meets reality :)

  • These guys were (and still are ) the Godfathers of Culinary Arts. A shame that DUMBASS of a chef Bobby Flay is considered an Iron Chef.

  • @Fatmanmi u mad

  • I lived for the pepper bite when I was a kid.

  • R.I.P.iron chef we'll miss you forever

  • The guy who bites into the capcicum is such a gay

  • I know this will offend some ppl, but this series was wayyyyyy better than Iron chef America. God I miss the orignal.

  • @baracchus hell, it doesnt offend me

    iron chef japan was amazing

  • @baracchus

Actually, ICA received tons of backlash, so you only offended maybe 2%.

  • My favourite bit is at 2:16-2:20, where you can see Chairman Kaga stifle a laugh as the camera pans out.

  • @skraddypoo

    That's not a laugh...he's dry heaving...

  • search 'tastes like a boat' very funny cooking show parody

  • EEEEEPPPPPIIIIICCCCC!!!!!!!!!!

  • bring it out on dvd.!

  • Epic pepper consumption.

  • freakin jerks after taking a bite. spicyness finally kicked in at that momment.

  • @VillexxsYn actually, it's a bell pepper, and thus is not spicy

  • oh my jesus! the host is such a loser! seeeedy demon

  • What host?

  • the host of iron chef

  • The Chairman is God!

  • @jamesthemorts

By seedy, you of course mean crazy awesome.

  • @jamesthemorts

.. I just realised that I'd already responded to this a week ago, my bad.

  • @jamesthemorts

If by loser and seedy demon, you mean GAAAAAR and incredibly awesome.

  • You magnificent bastard.

  • i miss this show. iron chef america just isn't the same.

  • The incredibly insane nature of the show is part of the show.

That's how he rolls. Half of the show is cooking, the other half is the sheer style of it. Anyone can do a cooking show, but to turn it into theatre takes something else.

  • There should be an Iron Chef movie.

  • The chairman cracks me up in the opening theme. Like specifically parts 2:00-01 and when he bites into the pepper. he does it so grandly , its hilarious.

  • @themillenia such a creepo! I hate the new version where he bites into the apple instead with his smirky little smile.....

  • Bottom line ya gotta love Kaga!

  • the american what?

  • my favorite part is .27 to .29

  • best thing ever invented

  • oh my god i love it when he bites into the capsicum

    HILARIOUS

i cant stop laughing when i see it

    ahahah

  • haha yes, the way he bites into the yellow pepper and almost hiccups it back up is hilarious!! :D

  • I always LOL when I see this... XD

  • This is the best intro on tv. The dubbing is what makes this show so brilliant, especially the judges.

  • he almost dies at 2:17 lol

  • 2:16 to 2:28 is my favorite part. Hes mocking the camera.

  • Anyone know the name of the chef at 1.04?

    thanks

  • I remember reading he was Thierry Hounges, a Brazilian chef who battled against then-Iron Chef Japanese Komei Nakamura with caviar as the theme. Hounges looked as if he was going to win (seeing as Nakamura clearly had no idea how to use caviar), but somehow Nakamura won...

  • long live iron chefs!!

  • om nom nom nom!

like chickifydow i do wish i was the chairman. he is my idol (even though he does nothing) *but the bell pepper part is awesome!*

  • 2.07 to 2.16 is the funniest thing ever.

  • It's the best part. Does anyone know where I can get a animated loop of that?

  • the intro is sooooo epic

  • I wish I was that guy, a man of such advanced an pallet and such immense wealth that I build stadiums and hire experts to try and satisfy it. To eat foods so good many would save up for months to taste every day must be outstanding.

  • anyone know the name of the song that starts playing at 1:05?

  • Pretty much all the music in Iron Chef is from the "Backdraft" soundtrack. The specific track you're asking about is Track 6: "Burn it all"

  • thanks

  • I miss this intro. I'm thankful Fine Living is still showing it, but that crappy sythesized music just doesn't pack the same punch this did.

  • 1. Lovingly picks up bell pepper...

    2. Takes agressive bite of the loveapple.

    3. Camera pans back to reveal his large army of 'chef minions' with their super-tall chef hats.

This man is going to rule the world. He has all the makings of an evil genius!

  • Absolutely disagree! The music from the Food Network is TOTALLY appropriate. It was supposed to be over-the-top and was. They took it from the film Backdraft and it worked!

  • "Show Us Your Fire Truck" is the name of the theme, and it was by Hans Zimmer.

  • anyone else irked by the awkward way the chairman says allez cuisine (alrup kwaseem)....this show had many seasons..and many episodes within those seasons; you'd think he'd get it right by now considering how much this show represents french cuisine.

  • Ditto that. Japan is fully awesome.

  • This is what SHOULD be playing on Food Network. Screw Iron Chef America.

  • this version was much better.

  • Amen.

  • i agree. iron chef america has no charm.

  • The look on his face after taking that bite. Its a mixture of ecstacy and mischief that you just don't expect from a bite of yellow pepper! LOL!

  • I LOVE BELL PEPPERS.

  • I loved Iron Chef as a kid. It was no different than DBZ to me.

  • This brings back memories.

  • Does anyone know where the music comes from when the Iron Chefs appear?

  • It's from Backdraft if I remember correctly

  • Actually, the operatic theme that plays when the Iron Chefs "Ascend to their rightful place" is from a soundtrack by James Horner to a movie called Glory. The theme song, as the commenter above has noted, is from Backdraft.

  • Agreed, the FLC music sucks! I really love this show!

  • Ahh, I got my IRON CHEF Music Score FIX! They do a repeat on FLC but theme music has been replaced by some real crappy elevator theme music

  • sweet Jesus the new music is horrible, i had to shut it off, you don't even hear the echo of the bell pepper crunch! Lame!

  • dude i've loved this friggin show, especially the intro. Notice how he giggles as the camera zooms out of him after eating the capsicum? they must have forgot to remove a blooper. he is so melodramatic it's funny.

  • that's been a debate in my group of friends. Some thinks he's gagging a bit on that bell pepper.

  • nothing beats that first bite.

  • 1:59-2:01 what the hell.

  • Does any notice that when the Chairman Kaga bites into the yellow bell pepper that he wants to spit it out but is forced to smile and then he kinda wants to toss his cookies as the camera panes away?

  • yeah lol

  • sooo good. the music is SOOO AMAZING. its a bit piratey now that i think about it...

  • HAHAHAHA 2:17

hella always gets me :D lmao

  • I love it.

    Fukui-san! <3

  • i started hating this show when they stop playing the original soundtrack and use some new one....it SUCKS!

  • In Latin america this show is aired by Sony Entertainment television, i see this show but with a different music that the one heard in this video. If the one i hear here in latin america is the original then i think it's better than the one on the video.

I hate it when in the US they replaced the original soundtrack for some other (like they did in DragonBall Z and probably every other anime)

  • LOL 00.22 cracks me up every time! :D

  • i hop some one would do this . this show was so cool i love it

  • I love bell peppers! lol

  • Sakai is truly the greatest.

  • "You tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you what you are." I love that quote and this is by far the greatest cooking show ever. The original Iron Chef is much better than the American version.

  • fucking faggot assed bobby flay. I hate iron chef america

  • Can't wait for the day that the secret ingredient is......."KITTENS!"....lol

  • Morimoto is my favorite

  • Does anyone know what music starts playing at :29 (during introduction of the Iron Chefs)? I've been looking for that one forever...

  • the host is too much lol lol

  • Rokusaburo Michiba is the coolest...In the period that I watched this show, he was never beaten in a one-on-one challenge... :D

  • Oh Chairman Kaga; you are resplendent, as usual! Allez Cuisine!!

  • best intro ever!!

  • my favorite show ever, i hate it that i cant afford cable because i just adore this show

  • yes the american type sucks. this one is the best. lolz. waaaa where the hell is mishiba?!

  • What is the name of the song that starts to play when the time reaches 01:05? I wanna download it.

  • Sakai is the best :-)

  • Sakai was my favorite as well. (he was always cool and modest.)

  • thats why he was "King of the Iron Chefs"

  • My fav Iron Chef is Hiroyuki Sakai, the French Iron Chef. Hes amazing but hes hate cooking with anything slimy, like squid, im not kidding.

  • I loved the octopi battle, he didn't even want to touch them. One of them even jumped out of his pan, and he just left it on the ground.

  • nice

  • go go go Iron Chef French!

  • Chen Kenichi is better than Kobe

  • I love the way the theme is an epic battle hymn. :)

  • Allez Cuisine!

  • Not enough Iron Chef on YouTube. :(

  • true that

  • i like iron chef italian masahiko kobe

  • Chen Kenichi is better

  • Bring back the original iron chef on food network!!!

  • the amamerican one sucks

  • lol this is goood i luv it!!

  • loved it when he flashes a wide grin after swallowing a cupcake at a go

  • i love that show...woohoo

  • haha the invincible men of culinary skills!?

  • "QWWWEEEEEE-SAN"!!!!

  • it's "Fukui san..."

  • Iron chef was the best show on the food network...the music is so wicked...it made the show more interesting when they used live creatures like fish or octopus, the craziest ive seen was a turtle......SCREW the iron chef american version,i hope it gets cancelled, that one really sucks!!!! "IRROON CUUUISINE!!!!"

  • It's Allez Cuisine. It's rough frech for "Go Food!"

  • actually, it means "begin cooking"

  • its great after he eats the pepper, looks like he's either bout to throw it up or laugh his ass off

  • omg that is so funny when u pointed that out i could see him kind of shacking

  • That show rocked.
