The improvements made by this child has been incredible. The only thing we would suggest is to get a better camera or an audio recorder device, so that we, as a whole audience, receive a better detailed video. And it is always good to have Lang Lang watch your back.
Just coming back to this video and it's still amazing =) How long had Anna been learning the piece before this performance? I would love to hear another performance once she's in even better control of the piece, though of course it was already very good here.
I've listened to other interpretations of this piece and I've decided that your interpretation , Anna ,is the best . From my point of view you are already an accomplished pianist ,after playing this extremely difficult piece I believe you can play every piece composed for piano.Thank you for showing us how Liszt should pe played !
@andreea140794 Wow, thank you for your nice comment! Of course it isn't true, the Kissin recording is amazing and Horowitz recording is so nuts, you have to love it! (He adds in notes and measures and crazy stuff!) But you are so nice to say these words :)
Over the range of 5 years that your videos are filmed you have had a pheanomenal musical first and technical improvement with furnished and balanced playing. I think that a great future exists. You have a phaenomeal memory also so this will help you greatly and might give you a huge leap over other pianists since you can be able to play more programs without loosing anything from the previous. The only thing that you need to be looking now is not the longterm future butthe present.
@gkollias14 Thank you! Some of the videos from 5 years ago now seem a bit embarrassing! :) But part of the point of posting these videos is to create a video record of artistic growth over the years. We're so happy you mentioned this point and see the difference. :)
Anna - That was an amazing performance, especially for such a difficult piece at such a young age.
I've heard so many different performances of the Mephisto Waltz and sure you have too. One of my favorites is by Arthur Rubinstein - especially the shading from 6:00 - 6:30.
Anyway, you've got a very special gift and i have truly enjoyed following your incredible progress over the years.
Splendid, superb, magnificent, and as they say in the USA, AWESOME. If I expand my vocabulary with more superlatives, such as: wonderful, marvelous, supreme, consummate, outstanding, remarkable, first-rate, first-class, premier, prime, unsurpassed, unequaled, unparalleled, unrivaled, preeminent; I'll be back to add them. You're good Anna, nice to catch a glimpse of Lang Lang at the end too.
Beautiful! I enjoyed your performance and I will be sharing this video with my piano students. Especially to encourage them to make their work on technical skills a priority. Thank you for sharing your gift!
@vletenyei Thanks for your comments. Anna worked on Hanon last year a fair amount, it's quite helpful, and makes the arpeggios and scales more secure.
Anna ,I just love the way you perform this hard piece ,the way you move your body and I LOVE your new hair cut ,it suits you :-) ! Do you plan on releasing a new album? Because I would love to buy it .
Hi: I continue to be amazed at the rate in which Anna learns and memorizes these pieces! With over 11-1/2 minutes of playing time there is an awfull lot of sheet music to memorize--------in addition to getting the technical aspects of the piece. Bright girl.
It's a great piece for her to have- in a few years she'll be able to do anything she wants with it- but it's already great for 11. I didn't know she was performing in this area, or I might have come!
@hamiltonrrw Yes, I don't know what I could have done, if it was the spotlight or my camera the problem. I was too far back probably and using digital zoom.
OMG LISZT?! crap... better than my Chopin Nocturne i'm working on... piano teacher rejected the Symphonic Etude and said "We need to work on technique a bit more, and maybe after that" :-(

It is really good to see that classical music has still some appreciation with children and old traditionds are not forgotten.

Anna, it's great to see you play Liszt. Your performance is wonderful. This is probably one of the hardest waltzes ever written. Best wishes, Abhik.
