Great amv, very well thought out, love the song, love everything about it. I personally don't think the ending was "lame" because it added a bit of mystery to it and for people who've never played ff8 then I imagine it would make them want to play it.
but errmm well the fmv in the credits (with selphie irvine and the camera thing) was made after they made the fmv of rinoa and squall on the balcony.
the whole idea of that balcony seen was to go "oh my god wow hes alive" so thats why they made sure on the camera fmv that squall wouldnt be seen coz it would give it away
but i wouldnt put it past rinoa to go insane and start seeing dead people xD
Squall dont die rinoa brings him back after ultermecia when time compression takes place. selphie wouldnt be happily just pointin at rinoa on the balcony would she.the battery runs out to make it look like he is dead but he aint!!!! .after the credits ( If u actually sat through them) u would see that squall was behind the wall then u see them whatchin shootin stars then kiss.A happy ending . why make a perfectly good end bad for? well done to squaresoft . ff8 is the best ff game anyday

i love this video, im addited to the game, i haven't completed yet though i love squall and rinoa's love story i just got up to were she's not waking up n squalls next to her bed n it looks like he's crying it was so touching :'( if u dnt have a heart u wouldn't think so but in reality is so so very sweet
Ha I completed the game and then was gutted to find that Squall really was dead. A few years later I played again and didn't turn my playstation off until the very very end and found that he was! I actualyl could not believe I had not see it before! lol
Not a bad vid but the text bits at the end are a bit lame. Perhaps you could think of another way of showing your ending rather than having to tell it outright. It kills the poetry a bit.

It makes no sense whatsoever in relation to the story line. If it's an alternate ending it should at least make sense. This is an entire alternate plotline not just the ending.

Okay as a FF8 fan, i am very discusted. You made a mistake in making this video, not only did the music suck, but you have Squal die?! I'm guessing by the video alone that you haven't played the game through to the end and if you have then you know what a crime this video of yours is. better luck next time.
If you were an FF8 fan you can appreciate what he was trying to do here, which was show you the way it could've ended (which is what he clearly says in the description) Thankfully it didn't end like that. If you didn't want to watch it a created ending, then maybe you should've read the description like it says...
As the Largest Final Fanasy VIII fan I've ever met, I did "get" what he was trying to do,and I thought it in bad taste. Other videos pay respect to the story of FF8. This one however not only disrespects it, it insults it. And I don't care how artful you might have thought it was, It is what it is; a mistake.

PLEASE change the wording in your video description from "FF7" to "FF8" or "FFVIII". There a HUGE difference there and it makes me want to strangle you because of my hatred of FF7.

You can't possibly like ff8 if you hate ff7. the very end after the battery ends is : rinoa looks up into the sky and see a shooting star. she does that little cute point toards the sky just as she did when they first met, when rinoa also saw a shooting star. squall then moves in for the kiss.. and balamb flies off into the sky
i can answer all this squall drifted in analternate univers for a few years than he ended up in kindom hearts world and rinoa will find him and they will live happily ever after... i just keep tellin myself that ...sniff... god i hope hes there with rinoa at the end of game!

try this i'm not sure if it'll work for u but it worked for me once da game freezes open the playstation lid without turning off the console and take out the disc clean it a bit and then put the disc bak or u can try put in ANOTHER FF8 disc then close the lid and quicly opening it bak and inserting the normal disc u were playin this happen to me on DISC 4 on the Rocket Lauching cut-Scene where they go to space and i did this and it all of a sudden skipped the cut-scene! HAVEN'T FINSHED THE GAME!
The same thing happened to me on the rocket cut scene. I had to play through it FOUR FRICKING TIMES before it finally worked, just kept playing through it and crossing my fingers.
one thing id like to know is. which GF did Selphie find long time ago. and maybe it was griever somehow? and one more point to rinoa being ultimecia. a GF takes up apart of your mind. you ccan forget.
in Time compresion its posible to forget. and you have to remember what you love to get back. Rinoa is ultimecia. and she also made her castle where Squall and Her will Meet...its obvious
Good point SJP, she did say at the start of the game (in the field) that she would wait there to meet him...which is exactly where Ultimecias castle ends up later in the game...God dammit...I can't make up my mind. Theres def. a lot more that points to Rinoa being Ultimecia than anything else. I hardly think thats all coincidence. I think it was planned, they just left out enough info to not make it definite either way.
Nice Work! but you culd have used the song Requiem for a Dream, from Clint Mansell. I tried at home and it just fit perfectly, but your video is totally awesome!
I totally luv this video, i mean i no FinaLNightZ made the alternate ending up but its class, ma fav bit is 3.06 when the 2 gardens are fightin lots of action but the bit where the student knocks the solder off the moterbike totally made me laugh fantastic

just to clear this up, squall does not die... squaresoft have been very clever and made it look like he's died but if you watch it after all the credits have went you'll see squall with rinoa, the battery runs out before you see squall holding rinoa and its zoomed in to her so you cant see him very clever but thats final fantasy for you well done again final many thanks 5 stars

Hm, the balcony scene at the end shows, that he survived the time compression. I think the reason, why Ultimecia searched for machine ellione for the time compression, is to lure the young squall to her, cuz she wants to kill him, so that rinoa doesn't suffer to see him die in the future (she is still a witch and lives eternally). So, she think if she kill him, before she falls in love with him, she could endure the pain and won't become Ultimecia....at least, that's what i think.
you can't really know for sure because if you look at the ending [after the flowers blooom and magic blah] she has a look of pure happiness. and i could've sworn i saw slight head movement.
I don't want to spoiler such things here. You can send me an email, if you really want to know. I doubt, that you never heard of the theory about rinoas real existence. It divided the fancommunity rather hard.
Well, i think, it's not really a theory, because only with this piece, the puzzle of FFVIII becomes absolutely logical and there ARE many proves within the game...
I love kissing you! that song is amazing. I got the Soundtrack to Romeo and Juliet. That was sad...but I heard that if you unlocked the secret ending that you got to see that Squell did survive. The video was good but sad. What was the song at the end?

Okay, everyone the camera is zoomed in to Rinoa so yuo can't see Squall. But he is there. And she's pointing to a shooting star because the first time Squall saw her she was pointing to a shooting star. He then winks at her when you're actually seeing them and the kissing scene happens.(well, if you did some extra stuff.) It's a hoax.
This is truly an amazing video. You've have pieced together every CG scene extremely well. Major props. That's big coming from me cuz i NEVER leave comments/responses. All in all, awesome. ;)

Really nice video but a poor ending. I would've ended on the bit where Rinoa is holding Squall in her arms on the floating rock.

The real ending comes after the battery goes out. Squall kisses Rinoa on the balcony, then the logo comes up and it says The End.

just to clear this up, squall does not die... squaresoft have been very clever and made it look like he's died but if you watch it after all the credits have went you'll see squall with rinoa, the battery runs out before you see squall holding rinoa and its zoomed in to her so you cant see him very clever but thats final fantasy for you well done again final many thanks 5 stars

Hm, the balcony scene at the end shows, that he survived the time compression. I think the reason, why Ultimecia searched for machine ellione for the time compression, is to lure the young squall to her, cuz she wants to kill him, so that rinoa doesn't suffer to see him die in the future (she is still a witch and lives eternally). So, she think if she kill him, before she falls in love with him, she could endure the pain and won't become Ultimecia....at least, that's what i think.

Okay, everyone the camera is zoomed in to Rinoa so yuo can't see Squall. But he is there. And she's pointing to a shooting star because the first time Squall saw her she was pointing to a shooting star. He then winks at her when you're actually seeing them and the kissing scene happens.(well, if you did some extra stuff.) It's a hoax.
