Hey avlis77. I've been after a Dollar Brand tune called ( I think) "Soweto 123" for ages. It sounds like a jam and goes on for about 20 mins. It sounds very similar to your upload "Abdullah Ibrahim - Soweto/Dollar Brand - African Herbs". Maybe the version I heard was a jam or live version of that tune but I cannot find it anywhere. I originally heard it from a South African friend who lent me a compilation tape with it on. The tape is now dying so I need a digital copy. Any help appreciated.
@RuthDonna I have the vinyl of Capetown Fringe - it's an amazing album. It's one of those that I need to convert to up to higher tech. I think there's a song on youtube called Manneburg by Abdullah that is a shorter version for Capetown Fringe.
The Anti-Apartheid Movement was a wonderful organisation. One bonus back in the 80s was being able to buy rare Abdullah Ibrahim LPs from the fund raising catalogue.
I have been lucky enough to be in the company of this giant. He is a complete opposite of what you see on cd covers. His sense of humour is great, always had us in stitches. He smiles laughs a lot,has jokes aplenty about any subject or the funny side of life from T'ai-chi to Jazz.
If South Africa says something about jazz or piano Brand should always be an icon, This one is full Madness. Ek is baie lief vir om. chisa chisa chisa chisa chisa chisa chisa chisa chisa
Man...was I strung out on African Herbs when I heard it. I believe that was Basil Coetzee on Tenor and listen to Abdullah, doubling up on the electric piano.
I've been looking for this for the longest time. Fantastic.

@phabphilip I've looked for it too. It was called Capetown Fringe, from an album of the same name.I believe it's only available on vinyl, used.

@RuthDonna - I finally found it!! It wasn't called "Soweto123", it was just called "Soweto". I've uploaded some of the track here...
