  • There is no point in staccato, if you use the sustain pedal = don't use the pedal when the notes state that you should use staccato.

  • @pbryld You might be right. Normally I don't prefer to use the sustain pedal too much, especially in staccato, but after watching one of the youtube videos of this piece (by the way you commented that you loved the pedal work in that video which I didn't feel the staccato part but I liked the video because of the emotion of the pianist), I decided to use the sustain pedal in the adagio part.

  • @corail79 She uses the sustain pedal so that it still sounds like staccato, but gets a slightly different sound. She barely steps on it before releasing again. Her performance is close to perfect imo. I wish I could play this piece like that.

  • @pbryld I don't feel the shortness of the staccato in that video but she has her own style and I like that. Beside the staccato parts she has also changed other parts from the orijinal sheet music but it's her interpretation.

    By the way I like to watch your version of this piece too.
