AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! i have 2 1989 eighty eight's and 1 1989 ninety eight! and i wish so bad i had that option in my cars damn it! I have been looking for a 88/98 that has that option for the longest time!!!!!! Your car is awesome! (is it for sale? if yes contact me haha!)
Thats sweet! It reminds me of that Texas Instruments thing from the 80's that spelled stuff, you know. Thats the only other car outside of a Chrysler that I have ever heard with voice alert! I love the 86-91 88's I need to get one!
Thanks for the offer. I want one with the 3800 series engine (88-89) I have an auto broker looking into a few for me now actually. And you should keep that car, if you get rid of it it will end up in the wrong hands. Why get rid of it?
Please i beg you don't sell that car, it will end up in the hands of some ungrateful teens, that will run it to the ground, i will pay you the 400 bucks to keep it on the road, but please don't let some damn teen get a a hold of this great Oldsmobile.
At least in Chrysler's case for their own vocal annunciator (search YouTube: "Daytona Shelby Talking"), the voice module was made by Texas Instruments using the same technology that went into their "Speak and Spell."
I thank the makers of Toyota that they have not made my car talk .... or I would have to rip out the speakers .. looool - I won't even allow my PC to talk - one day maybe - when they can sort out the voice and speach.
~ LOL ~ My car used to talk so much that after a while I didn't want to hear it anymore. ~ LOL, Again ~ The car kind of reminded me of babies who are beginning to talk. At first you are awaiting every little word as they are trying to vocalize them. When they finally master their speech, they talk nonstop to the point that you are looking to buy Calgon. And you say, "Calgon, please take me away." ~ LOL, Again! ~
After escaping from them to take your "Calgon bath," after a few minutes you long to be with them again. Great Video and a very Happy Last Day November To You! :)

This is what GM considered "cutting edge" in the 80s, yet they resisted moving towards Fuel Injection and DOHC.

i have a 1988 Olds delta 88 royale brougham. it's a custom dark blue paint with black racing stripes =]
of course it's not a racing car, i just thought it'd look cool that way cause the interior is blue in mine
and i wish i had the speech option in mine, i've left the lights on while i left the car somewhere a couple times xD

@loungo1567 It says that because he's got the door open, to make sure you don't forget to take them out. Ditto the headlight warning.

Could you kindly replace the voice alert system in this downsized Olds 88 from 1986 with a loud scary buzzer from a mid-80's Dodge Ram pickup truck?

its a speak and spell
fishtaco2007 3 years ago
Not quite,it's the same Technology, but it's not a Speak 'n'spell. Oldsmobile used the same Chip in the car as in a SNS

no work and it cost like $400 i don't have to run it every month, so i'm just gonna buy lil Golf 5spd nothin' to much
flywheel32 3 years ago
no work? you mean it doesnt work anymore? Well it would be cool if you kept it just to make sure it stays in great condition, along with the Golf.

Which Electronic Voice Alert do you like better? The EVA in this 1986 Oldsmobile or the EVA in the 1985 Dodge Daytona?
