  • i din't realize that ALW composed this beautiful Requim, what a very talented composer he is,I guess that's why Sarah married him, although sadly it didn't work out, perhaps egos collide.

  • singing this in one of my class recitals and in a group(The Four Divas) with 3 other girls in the christmas chorus concert can't wait :) Sarah looks stunning here!

  • love her dress

  • the choir look as lazy as they sound.. i feel bad for the kid.. sarah certainly made her presence felt.. fantastic as it was, i loved it.... the poor kid was swallowed in parts. but kudos to him for duet-ing with the diva

  • @MrTaurus81 I don't think the boy voice in this piece is supposed to be equal with Sarah. It's supposed to be somewhat muted.

  • i used this song in my wedding

  • Angel voice!!!!!!!!!! amazing!!!!!

  • Her voice is no doubt amazing, but that dress ! Wow !

  • This lad has one of the most beautiful boy soprano voices. Very very well done. Thank you for sharing

  • Lots of versions to ALW's Pie Jesu, this is one of the best by both Burrowes and Brightman, drawing me into the PC monitor. Obviously a labor of love to Weber.

  • I LOVE Sarah Brightman's rendition of Pie Jesu, it's the best!!

  • What's she got on her head??

  • b r a v o !

  • Beauty is in the ear as well as the eye of the beholder obviously.

"No accounting for taste" I've heard.

  • It must be a surreal but sublime 'Phantom of the Opera moment' to see a song you wrote, sung by a woman you mentored, loved and wrote music for. That hug at the end, plus him spinning around to watch her walk away, was very dramatic.

  • Thumbs up if you hate musical snobs who won't let the rest of us 'uneducated people' just enjoy the music!

  • This is her best rendition, IMO.

  • Miren Sarah brightman en Vienna , Pie jesu y veran La mejor interpretacion de pie jesu .See sarah brightman on vienna and you will see the best

  • This song gives me chills. She sings it well.

  • Sarah I love youuu 4ever... <3

  • I'm not really a fan of Brightman in this song to be honest. i just feel that this song should be sung with a pure voice and she totally wrecks it with her vibrato.

Two trebles singing this = WOW

Sarah Brightman = nope sorry, doesn't do anything for me....

  • This an excellent illustration if why I prefer a youthful male treble to a mature female soprano. While I like the beautiful coloratura voice of Brightman, I do prefer that of the young boy. It seems to me that most women use excessive vibrato. While some boys let a little vibrato sneak in, it is not a dominant characteristic of the voice. Could this be the reason boys' choirs are more popular than girl's choirs? I dunno; but I speculate.

    Aled

  • @ifuliki

I appreciate your comments. I totally agree that the boy's soprano (or treble, if you will) sounds far superior to Brightman's "excessive vibrato." Besides that, she sounds shrill.

I think boys' choirs are more popular than girls' because boys' choirs have centuries long tradition. Still, I love the sound of a boy treble. Maybe it's the gift that it will not last. Nature's first green is gold; the longest hue to hold to quote Robert Frost.

  • @sukibu Check out San Francisco Girls Chorus' Heaven and Earth CD... girls ages 12 to 17

  • after listening to this three times i scrolled down and read some comments...

what is goin on??? what's up with all the negativity. how you can listen to this song and not feel anything but peace is completely beyond me.

what a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song.

  • loreena mckennitt is much better

  • God Sarah Brightman is bloody AMAZING!!!! that Voice....crikey...

  • Connor Burrowes, career ruined? I think not. As for the chorus, this was a television production and trying to get the studio techs and directors to understand musical requirements is like trying to stop an Icelandic volcano from erupting. As for Sarah's voice, she does just fine. I understand that her diction is not pure proper operatic interpretation, but so the he** what. Her performance is musical, a little schmaltzy for my taste, but still musical.

  • Hollywood is not to blame. Sarah is in control of Sarah. Stupid Trolls again tearing at her vocals. This song was written for Sarah and it's hers to interpret, not yours. Obviously she must know a thing or two about vocalization since her success speaks for itself. Stupid Trolls.

  • WTF do YOU know about anything? Your instrument - the 'saxophone' has NO comparison to the eloquence of Sarah Brightman's voice. So do us all a big favour - a HUGE favour and STFU!!!

  • @gebbytoo No one is making you listen to this track! If you don't like it, then all you have to do is close the browser! As for musical taste, are you making millions? Are you playing to sold out crowds everywhere you go? If not, shut the hell up!

  • as celtic woman naum cantam miando

    apenas naum cantam empostado

  • Sara was much better in the primier of this work. Every recording of this since then has been a disapointment. She no longer seems to care about belending with here co-soloist or the chorus. She is trying to hard to be operatic. She is NOT a good operatic soprano. She should have stuck to her Broadway/London Musical style!

  • Look at some of the chorus members....they are sitting while singing with their legs crossed....BWAHAHAHAHA

  • Finalmente encontrei ela com a voz poderosa e não miando como as Celtic Woman!!

  • Nice to see her as a real singer, before Hollywood got some claw in her and sexed her over.

  • you are absolutely right....i couldn't agree with you more about the Hollywood thing!!

  • she looks REDUNKULOUS!!! but i LOVE that little boy's voice!

  • What a wonderful performance!!! :O Her is voice is amazing, thanks :)

  • I love the voice of Connar Burrows. Sacred existence..

  • great!! finaly I found another great version of pie jesu

  • Gracias, amravillosa interpretación de Sarah!!! La Amo!!!

  • aww dude that kid is freakin cute (:

  • muito bom

  • you can hear voice starting to become better in this video compared to the requiem mass video..it's starting to become more fuller and more forward and not so far back and thin.

  • Wasn't Sarah at one time Mrs. Andrew Lloyd Weber? Hmmm, after she sings it's "off to the back row with ya"! :-)

  • I still prefare Hayley Weastenra. And i do like Sarah, but i prefare the song Time To Say GoodBye,.

  • Sarah is absolutely enchanting with the powerful vibrato this song demands, and the voice of any superior trained soprano singer.. if you don't appreciate her style maybe you'd be better off listening to some dizzy pop music where mixers fabricate the singing...maybe that's more your style

  • My god Brighman's voice is absolutely horrible, it has a shrill sound that comes nowhere near the pure sound of a talented boy soprano.

  • Brightman's voice is beautiful. And her voice is nowhere near the pure sound of a talented boy soprano because she is not a boy, she is a female soprano :P

  • While I still cannot stand her singing in this song, I did not mean to imply she is not a talented singer for I know she is capable of singing much better, and in fact I do enjoy some of her other work done without the excessive warbling.

  • Her incredibly tense vibrato ruined it for me.

  • Wow. Sarah Brightman's performance is simply amazing. And when she sings that high "Requiem" from 3:27 - 3:34... simply brilliant. Wonderful!

  • That's Fantastic

  • god she echoes the boy is awesome :) :)

  • if you have seen andrew johnston sing this you know the debate is over, he owns this song now.

  • the song is ruined by her vibration and the notes which she keeps making longer than needed i think the little nerdy choir boy who sings with her is better she is a good singer just more opera and sorry to drag on but it sounds like shes eating chicken pie! :( sozzy but it does xD

  • The 'little nerdy choir boy' is Connor Burrowes, He is still very young here...he matured into an amazing treble before his voice break. Check out his clips on youtube! :)

  • im getting crazy of her vibration, not in this song , but shes good .. but , plz.. destroys this song -.-

  • ' This Is Your Life'. Andrew Lloyd Webber, my all time favourite since I was a little kid.

  • tempo is wayyyy too slow ?! Never too slow and that's why it's called Requiem, not Rock and Roll All Over the World, Man!

  • sarah's amazing, don't get me wrong, but the tempo is wayyyy too slow in this and she seems to need a lot of effort when singing the 'quitollis' part

  • That's my bro! Good stuff Connor, I hadn't seen that one before.

PS - nice glasses and quiff

  • rosa mystica?morag aswang iyang atire..morag abat.sounds like a ghost vibrating voice in an abandoned haunted house

  • Bella diva!

  • Good, but too slow!

  • Sarah's voice does absolutely nothing for me. Her lips are always in the same place which disturbs me, as her "ah" and "ee" vowels are not at all pure. People will say I'm not to judge, because I haven't made it to where she is, but all I'm saying is that personally there are a lot of other people out there with far better technique and it doesn't really seem fair...

  • Boy, Connor just blew her out of the water...

  • This is the worst I've seen of her.... really bad!!

  • Why? I want to know why?

  • I am not sayin this to be mean. I like her voice. But NOT in this song. she's braking the song with her vibrato. And her vibrations are so wide, that it sounds like she is off tune alot!

It's a duet. But she is NOT AT ALL taking in, the boy she is singing with. She is singing solo!

Plus she is not feeling the music, she is singing off beat too many times aswell.

She should stop singing this song!

Check out Sissel Kyrkjebø singing Pie Jesu, then you'll understand. She sounds divine!

  • yes u right she is singging solo.

  • totally agree

  • yea she drowns out poor Burrowes. He should have been positioned further behind as a 'backup' singer if he wasn't really supposed to be heard. :P

  • One more thing... seriously.... she looks soooo wierd while trying to look like a diva or something, forming he lips and all... sad!

  • too much vibrato......hate it,,,,,i like charlotte church's better....

  • If you don't know Sarah Brightman sang the first time that song. This song was created for her, the song is like that, and Charlotte Church, she grew up and she lost her talent.

  • Very well Sarah

  • you know what... i have never been a big fan of sarah's.... but i have to say.... this was gorgeous. it floats, it's light and present... and the boy makes me teary eyed. bravi. so sweet!

  • how cute is connor in this!

  • she is over-covering! she's trying way to hard to have an "operatic" voice.....and that little boy is just adorable!

  • omg!!...I love how she practically jumps into his arms!...they are so sweet!

    Beautiful performance...love the dress

  • i love her outfit C:

  • Oh wow, a conner burrowes video I've never seen before. Too cool.

  • Es la mejor interpretacion de Pie jesu que le he escuchado a sarah, canta tan perfecto y tan sin esfuerzo... ¡¡es genial!!!1

  • This is my favorite version of Sarah singing Pie Jesu that I have ever heard. The young boy was great also.

  • well said.

  • amazing!
