@cgordon6969 Well let me tell you. When the government uses force to take more of your money to pay for the OPTION then that's not much of a choice. Try telling the one million people who got kicked off their plans after the public OPTION was passed that its just an OPTION.
You cannot have a "right" that compels another person to perform a service. If it was so easy to provide high-quality healthcare for all simply by mandating it, then every dictator would have done it by now. The engine for all the goodies that the insolent libs want to plunder is capitalism, which is being killed by progressive parasites. I wish you morons would start your own country and mandate every "right" you can think of to your heart's desire. The rest of us will work for a living.
I love how people are convinced they have read 'the bill' and therefore their paranoid rage is somehow superior and justified. such a thing does not yet exist.
Without using profanity, it's difficult to speak about how this "debate" has unfolded in the United States. How DUMB can a [supposedly advanced] society be to deny health care to millions of its people? When will Americans learn that health care is a right, and government - an institution designed to protect rights - has every obligation to enforce such rights? Observers in Canada and Britain can't help but roll their eyes at the stupidity of Americans opposing health care reform. Disgraceful.
Many many Australians also just hang their head in dismay at the rank stupidity of ignorant, bloated, f#$#ing idiots in the US that can in any way justify the continuation of purely profit motivated health care system. Government is there for all people. Basic social services constitutes a fundmental responsibility of every western society. In many ways the US is just a diseased state that can not and sadly will not heal itself.
PUBLIC OPTION !is the best but if you dont like it just buy something else.. there will always be private companys to go to...this is only for the uninsured and those who want it...I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE THINK THIS WILL LIMIT CHOICE? RIGHT NOW 47 MILLION PEOPLE HAVE NO CHOICE THEY HAVE NO HEALTHCARE AND YOU ARE PAYING THEIR WAY ALREADY!! AT LEAST WITH PUBLIC OPTION WE CAN PREVENT THESE PEOPLE FROM ENDING UP IN E.R. ..SUPPORT THE PUBLIC OPTION!!EITHER WAY WE WILL PAY WHY NOT GET BEST DEAL??

Article 1 section 8 US constitution
lays out vary clearly what the government can do.
Anything outside of that is illegal.
Its that simple.
What they can do is tell states that they may not cut off commerce from one state to another state. insurance is commerce and the states are protecting there insurance company's from having compete in the free market.
And that's what Keeps prices High.
I don't see any laws anywhere that say government can take my money by force to pay for health care.

Olbermann is being deceptive with the wording of that poll. Americans don't want the Public Option, and that is why BOTH the conservative Democrats and Republicans are against the Public Option.
"Americans don`t want the Public Option"? Are you speaking for all Americans? How can you know that? Is there any proof for that statement? I assume there isn`t , therefore isn`t it you that is being deceptive?
