How has no one caught onto the gay undertones in this? The name "Michael Valentine" is a reference to the book "Stranger in a Strange Land", which is about uniting (as in "love") and sexual freedom. The Spanish bit is translated as "My doll, open your eyes," which is a bit questionable. Marlon Brando and Greta Garbo are both famous bisexuals. Coincidence?  Unlikely.

I don't completely understand the song, but I am picking up on gay tones. (Not that that's bad thing)

I think that shit they produced was for money darling. They were trying too hard. They were so indie and now they got more fans their putting out what they think will sell the most. Hot Fuss was what they were, that's the music they liked and felt. I don't think Day and Age was at all. Growth? Yes a lot of bands experience that type of growth like Green Day or Metallica. The ones that suck now.

Actually, a lot of the songs in Sawdust were before Sam's Town. Sawdust is a compilation of b-sides and covers etcetc.

But I do agree. The Killers' have lost the sound that I usually associate them with :'c Their new songs aren't bad but I don't think I could love them like I did with Hot Fuss.
