You have a nice home! I had my braces put on a few weeks ago at the age of 18, I also have a cross-bite and moderate crowding! She suggest jaw surgery, but I can't afford it, so I am having two premolar extractions in a couple of months to treat my awful bite. I wish I could have at them when I was younger, but my parents didn't want to pay for them, so I had to wait a little longer than most kids. You've made very good progress! :)
@Eohyr Thank you for the compliment on both my home and my teeth. I have them off now with the exception of 3 on my bottom right molars. I should have done a video a long time ago, but they just never seemed to get done! Good luck with your braces journey. You'll love the end results, trust me.
Hi , today i go take picture in clinic tomorrow i will x-ray i scary and i know is hurt after get braces. How many years you in braces because i will married next year. Please tell me i need your advice
First, I want to thank you very much for you taking the time to make these, they are very informative!!! I defiantly feel more comfortable in making a decision in getting braces as an adult (34 years old). I was wondering the date of the last video was in May and it is now the end of August. Do you still have your braces? Thank you again =)
Hey, yes I still have the darn things on. I have been "slacking" when it comes to doing a video. I've been meaning to do one for at least 2 months now and still haven't. I'm hoping to get one done within a couple days and I'll bring everyone up to speed. Thanks for the comment.,
Hey, I reallly do need to do a new video, it's been a long time. I go tomorrow for an adjustment and really hoping to get impressions made for retainers. My teeth look great, just a couple things that still need to be done, but one of them can be kept up with the retainer. I am hoping to get them off before Christmas. I'm quite compliant in comparison to younger kids with braces. Watch for a video, I will try real hard to do one soon.
I am so sorry that I didn't get to do a video. I kept asking my "producer/director" to set up my video for me, but he didn't seem to find time to do it either and then busy time of year comes and it gets forgotten. I have them off now with the exception of 3 brackets on the bottom still. I would like to do a video outlining my last months with braces (as I felt I was getting boring to watch) and them bring everyone up to where I'm at now. I hope to have one out soon. Happy Holidays to you.
When I was getting my x-rays done at the orthodontist last week, I was talking with the lady doing them and brought up how my friend doesn't wear her retainer and the lady said how she had had braces and then didn't wear her retainers and her teeth shifted so she had to get braces again.
I definitely agree that once is enough when it comes to braces just based on what you've said about them.
I just ran into a big problem a couple days ago. I plan on doing a video and explaining, but I definitely DO NOT want to go through this again!! Thanks for the comment.
I know, I'm due for a video. I have an appointment coming up real soon, hoping to have the final wire put on my bottom teeth, then I know I'm on the last step, at least where the braces are concerned! After my next appointment I will do a video, I promise. It seems people are getting something from them anyway..............thanks for the support.
Lisa, or ANY1 that can give me advise. My ortho took out the metal wires (not elastic bands) that fix my overbite last month, I was told my overbite was now "fixed". Now, I have another ortho appointment tomorrow, and I want to tell them I don't feel my overbite is fixed and to put the metal wires back on. My two front teeth on the top, I can stick my nail under it when I bite down, can you picture that? I told my ortho last month right when she took it off that I wish I was pulled back further
And she said, all teeth are soppose to have a little overbite, and we usually leave 2-3CM. How do I tell her I want the wires put back on until it satisfies ME, and not HER?
Your videos are very informative and very helpful. Your progression of wire sizes and types is very normal. Your smile looks very very good. Good luck with thte rest of your treatment.
Thank you so much for the reply. I just had an appointment yesterday, had to go in earlier than normal due to a molar band that came loose. My regular appt was next week, so just a week early. He did the adjustment a week early, so now I am wearing rubber bands on both sides of mouth. Quite uncomfortable. I may do a video, haven't done one for a couple months. If I can squeeze it in! Summertime is a busy time. Thanks again for the compliments.
I have found that putting a product called "gishy goo" on the pokey wires helps alot!!! I had 4 extractions so I always have the wires in the back while the space is closing! You should try it. You can even eat with the gishy goo. It won't come off unless you take it off!
Thank you for the "insider information". I will look for it. I've never heard of it before. My husband may have though, he has done a lot of research on braces and products in general. There's nothing worse than eating wax when you're eating food!!
Hey, i commented not to long ago on a different account on your ''dreaded elastics'' video. And i just wanted to ask... when you do get your braces of could you tell me if it hurts because i'm stressing about that.
Sorry if I didn't send you a comment back last time. There are times when I don't get on the computer for weeks...I too am not looking forward to the brackets being removed. I have a lot of soreness in my front teeth still and I hear they scrape and scrape to get the glue off. I'm preparing myself for the worst. I'll keep you posted.
Hi Lisa, I am 37 and got braces right around when you did. (jan. 17, 2008) and my ortho has also said I'm in the home stretch as well. My original timeline was 27 months but now he said I should get them off anytime from this Sept. to Dec. I cannot wait!!!
I look forward to hearing about your next appointment update! Thanks for doing these videos!!
Congrats on getting braces yourself and thanks for the comment. Have you had any of the same experiences as I have? My next appt is coming up next week, not looking forward to that one at all. That is when all the hell begins, I think!! Good luck to you in the home stretch.
Your whole face structer looks like it has changed it looks great!! good luck on your home stretch I think that was the hardest part for me because I was so close to getting them off yet they where still on. I am very good at wearing my retainers as I forgot to put them in one day and my teeth hurt so bad because they shifted already so the retainers had to work harder to put them back where they came from. I cant wait to see your end results.
Thanks for the comment Hilary. I've heard that same horror story about not wearing the retainer for one day. I plan to wear them all the time, this would not be worth it if I just let my teeth go right after the braces are off. I'm not so sure my face structure "looks great", but I appreciate the compliment, thanks.
why you stop making videos?
