  • si tocan esta rola en el corona capital... podre morir tranquilo...

  • Portishead!

  • amo el ultimo disco es laraja!!

  • the genuine children of the group " Can"

  • Portishead is amazing ..and i love this song so bad!

  • why this song appears too with the name of peaches

  • awesome...

  • trippy! Love it! :-)

  • Amazing song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the chance to watch them live when they played live here in Greece, twelve years ago.Beth please marry me!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Vuelve portishead, despues de tanto tiempo.

Vuelve a darnos catedra de buena musica y buen gusto

  • I can imagine people getting panic attacks at Portishead concerts, like The VU back in the 60's... I dig that!!

  • I was there. Was brilliant.

  • CHINGON

  • fine fellows, words are not present simply... and THIRD shocking album... the best group which I when or heard... it the best that did humanity!

  • I'm in love with her

  • Can you purchase this on DVD?

  • Message me your email and I'll send you a link to download.

  • simplemente... Genial!

  • *faints

  • Portishead...they leave me with my mouth opened again!!! This is a distorting and disorientating music. Where they get their ideas to make music?

  • Beth is very interesting and talented woman..

  • lol! friggin good though!

  • BEAUTIFUL YEAHHHH

  • Sublime song, the drum fills are the stuff of legend.

  • wooow

  • solidness

  • indeed!

  • This song just screams "Heaven up Here" era Echo and the B-men to me. Beth's vocal timing mimics Ian McCulloch, the keyboard tone is different but the basic approach is similar and the angular guitar guitar work could be Will Sargent.

Oh, an I love it. This and everything else on Third. Yes, you will want to actually own this album. I suggest checking out this show and Coachella as well.

  • Sounds so much like Silver Apples. I think that's cool though, maybe this will get more people into Silver Apples, a great and mostly ignored group.

  • it sounds like silver apples because its built off of "oscillations". There's a silver apples cover of this song as well. There tributes.

  • does she smile at the camera at 3:41?

  • Hipnotic song....

  • Brilliant song. It's now top of my Portishead list.

  • The best song on Third.

  • my mistake! it was the Edinburgh corn exchange gig i was at!!!!!same stuff and all good!!

  • was at this gig ! feken great it was.(though the support act were a bit'diffrent' would have been a bit better if it wasent for all the ejits in front of me with cameras in the air!!!!!!!!!!!!(wouldn't have seen it here though!!)

  • Third is going to be huge. I've heard most of it, and its easily falls into the "best albums ever made" cateogories.

  • i agree

  • Love the song!!!

  • This is my favourite song from Third.

Beth's voice floats in the ether surrounded by the droning noise.

    Love the beat.

Reminds me of something from the 60s or 70s.

    Definite trip hop.

    Great late night driving music.

Some of the new stuff could definitely cause seizures. LOL

  • "Reminds me of something from the 60s or 70s".

'Oscillations' by Silver Apples, maybe ?

  • true analog all the way---what a long wait its been!

  • love it from 3 minutes onwards!

  • fantastic voice...!!!!!

  • Silver Apples palgiarism

  • PLAGIARISM!

  • absolutely - what a great band they were - this is still a great song though!

  • What's she saying? "Thank you ... we made a mistake..."?? Could anyone "translate" for me, please? It's a shame that she keeps excusing herself for delivering such great performances (compare her words at the end of "Glory Box" at Roseland). Makes me sad to see a wonderful artist being so critical of herself and her work. But I guess that's part of her charm really, being a troubled person or at least appearing like that in public.

  • i think it was more of a "oops, we played the new song. oh noes"

  • The live version of Humming from Roseland has been my favorite track for ten years, this song has officially taken its place!!!

  • This has to be their first single from the new album, IT HAS TO ! ^^

  • this song sounds so much like silver apples back in '68.

  • Agreed. An excellent style/sound to sort of hover around.

Just sooo glad they not only made a new album, but sort of pushed things into new directions.

  • Intended to be in response to 'MaThemAgain's comment.

  • hyper

  • I saw Beth Gibbons in Hollywood 2003 performing her solo work. She was amazing.

  • The new album is amazing! I have to see them play live! No waiting another 10 years that's for sure!

  • Almost 10 years (8/9/98) passed since I saw them at Sudoeste Festival [one of the greatest gigs I've watched]. Next week, first tour date in my town, PORTO! I'll be there again!!!

    PS-New album, great stuff!

  • I'm still excited! I LOVE this song already...

  • Ten years is too long to make us wait! I LOVE PORTISHEAD. This song is great! All the new songs are fantastic. I can't wait for the album...

  • okok me lo estoy digiriendo, ojo q con esto digo q este malo si no q esta diferente.

  • okok me lo estoy digiriendo, ojo q con esto digo q este malo si no q esta diferente.

  • i love them. i am from argentina and tehy never came. this is so sad

  • I love the ending of this version, wish they kept it that way for the album.

  • I know that I'm not the first one to notice it, but it sounds a lot like Silver Apples. Which is a great thing, because I love Portishead, and I love Silver Apples.

  • this is on the album as 'we carry on'

  • I saw a tracklist for the new album and Peaches isn't on it! I hope the song just got a new name, because its my favorite of their new songs so far.

  • ijust wanna hear how it sounds in the album. i think it's gonna be real good, not for ppl who wants to hear a continuation of 1997's Portishead.

  • i can`t wait for the new album..

    i love portishead!!!

  • i don´t like that one very much, to be honest....it´s too fast....but that doesn´t matter: as far as i know, it´s not going on the album...;o)

  • well you're wrong, it's on the album and it's called We carry on

  • long live silver apples!

  • fuggin awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I really like that one, it sounds a bit like early freaked out Pink Floyd-stuff.

  • excellent!!! it's portishead meets silver apples!! look forward for the new stuff

  • exactly - silver apples!!!!!!

  • wow. that's the most I've seen beth acknowledge the writhing mass of people at her feet...ever.

  • me likey!

  • I love this!!...great quality on the recording, thanks for posting! I can't wait for the record

  • it's excellent!

  • That has just made me laugh out loud. You want to commit suicide?! Ahahahahaha

  • ...ehm...well...i was thinkin' that maybe u can read and understand when ppl are trying to make a point...i don't see the laughter... NO ONE could suicide 4 a pice of junk like that... i think u needed this explanation =)

  • Oh right. You weren't just being massively melodramatic. Thanks for the explanation though. My tiny mind can't process anything that requires lateral thought

  • only piece of junk here is your opinions ... go away and enjoy your lesbian videos instead, wanker!

  • oh DanishDog!! i'm sorry!! i didn't know that watching some erotic video could be such an offense! and, i don't know, i'm not sure, but i think that this forum is here to post OPINIONS, don't u think? i know u don't care 'bout my opinion so of course i don't care 'bout urs...this "peaches" track SUCKS, hopefully Portishead will not forget what real trip hop is. Kisses! =)

  • This way more "rockish" than their 2 previous albums. I reeeeally like it.

  • it has a somewhat hypnotic touch to it. reall love it.

  • definately dig the old stuff better, but this is the better of the ATP tracks i have heard. kind of disappointing but whatever. studio recordings probably give a little more justice.

  • oh man, i like her old stuff better. this is too much filler and not enough goodness.

  • *big, i meant

  • they are coming bit it seems

  • waiit what is Beth Gibbons saying at the end?

  • oh my god this is so GREAT!

  • hard 2 believe its been 11 years since portishead/portishead. mp3s & ipods weren't even around back then. will any fan actually buy their stuff now that anybody with a high speed connect can get music 4 free?

  • i will

  • got to have an original copy of portishead pal

  • Yes! Definately!

  • vinyl

  • sounds almost as if it could be a NIN song. Don't get me wrong I love NIN, but I like their "original" jazz sound better

  • the house beat is a little unnerving but it's nice to see them all sharing the stage again

  • it's not a house beat... is a folky song with a 2/4 tempo.

  • I think of the sound as a tribute to the Silver Apples, rather than a rip off of... if there's anyone suited to bring back that sound, it's P-Head! I was betting they would dig out a vintage and underappreciated sound for their new material. Hope it wrks, and hypnotic xprmntl music bubbles to the surface as a result.

  • I am a huge Portishead fan but I have to be honest and say that I was very disapointed by this song. I hope it isnt characteristic of their new material.

  • me too :-(

  • I hope it IS characteristic. Love this song!

  • So am I. I'm really glad they did something fresh and new (don't get me wrong, not that I disliked their previous stuff)

  • it's such a cool song as the one they did with the guy of massive attack it rocks!!!!!!!

  • I think they've had it. Honestly.

  • Thanks A LOT for posting this. I lost hope to hear anything new from them YEARS ago!

  • hope to see them in the next coachella !

  • wow!

  • lovin' it

  • my dream come true!!!

  • it's super!!

  • Ah... I'm afraid that this song is a COMPLETE rip off of SILVER APPLES'"Oscillations" & "Seagreen Serenades".

    Totally.

It was in the back of my head, somehow. I checked it out and... there it was: the body of evidence.

Please, check those two songs from SILVER APPLES and check it out by yourself, oh, honorable youtube visitor.

  • i prefer calling it inspiration. sure its similar but to me this sounds still different. definitly has the portishead touch!

  • I would agree to an extent. The first thing I thought of when I heard this was Silver Apples. I think they sample them on Mysterons, I think they use that "Pox on YOu song".

  • I think the fact that this song is called "Peaches" clues us into the fact that they were inspired by the "Silver Apples". I don't think it's a coincidence. I think its also pretty common for bands to make songs that sound like the music they listen to all the time. Like how those guys in Backstreet Boys are totally ripping off New Kids on the Block all the time. But it works!!! 20 million sold.

  • meaning that portishead are as cheap as backstreetboys? T_T

  • checked it, you're defo right. still a good tune from a quality band.

  • If they don't come to Miami...I don't know what I'll do anymore.

  • that tune is proper hypnotic as fuck.....

    and the beat goes on...

ps good to see jellyfishs' "standy-up" drummer has a new gig ;-)

cant fkn wait to hear the record omg....

  • Oh my god i am going to shit a brick, new portishead i have been waiting so long, get your lighters and sacks ready i will wear out the new album before i take it out of my player.

  • Relief! I was so afraid the new stuff would suck (and that Beth would be 200 lbs). That was pretty awesome!

  • holy shit... awesome!!! i cant wait for the album

  • i could just die!! this is EXCELLENCE!!!

  • portishead ten babam çıksa yerim, ne yapsa yakışır ne yapsa oluru ebedidir.

  • Her guitarist sounds like he needs to play a lil Guitar Hero lol Id give him 89% I love this track but somebody was missing up a lil

  • wow, I guess 10 years of waiting really were worth it.

    dark, gritty, haunting... totally awesome.

  • reminds me of WIRE a bit :)...somehow

  • This song is perfect. Wow.

  • !!

    New Portishead! I love it!!!

  • Briliant! This won't leave my cd-player for a long time as soon as it comes out!

  • no words, just !!!

  • No Silver Apple sounds like Portishead. They came first! You are so damn lucky to see them live!

  • I've been waiting far too long for this!

  • that was awesome

  • ive been waiting for this forever. i just told my sister - in - law and shes coming ever to watch this. when my brother finds out, hes gonna flip too.

  • i agree, beth is not the typical good looking type but somehow i find her quite hot?!!

  • thnaks marbelle!

  • thanks for putting this up! if you have high quality versions of the other new tracks, that'd be way cool.

  • SOOOOOO glad they finally making new stuff god what took so damn long???

  • Def their ode to Simeon & Danny of the Silver Apples

  • it defenetly sounds like them!

  • Sounds like a Einsturzende Neubauten track to me (well they have a career of lasting more than 25 years so there's a lot of variation)

  • I like it. Classic Portishead, Dark beauty and menace at once. God , Beth is fit.

  • This is so exciting.

It's so cute to see Beth dancing around like that. She seems like she's a bit happier this time around. I hope she is.

  • sound like silver apple!! wow

  • OMG i'm sooooo happy!

  • Fuck yeah.

  • sounds awesome, i'd kill to see portishead, thanks for uploading this
