@bluewaterpig Dude it's a joke. That's not really him playing that. The bass sounds exactly like it does on the actual recording too which makes it even funnier.I think the pop they're refering to is when Jerry pops his string when he attempts to jump in. At least that's what made me laugh.

Yes, its an overdub. No, its not Jaco playing. "Popping" is a technique electric bassists use in combination with the technique "slapping". It refers to plucking the string with the index or middle finger so that it creates a percussive sound of the note "snapping" or "popping" against the fretboard as the string hits the fret.

The point of this is to make a parody of the Modern Electirc Bass video that Jaco created as a tutorial for other bassists.

Its a very good parody.
