@carlitooz357 Jay-Z is one of the most popular artists in the world, and he also said has a legacy, you dick. Jay-Z is good. Just because he didn't make music in the 60's and is 'mainstream' you as bad as a bieber fan boy you dick.
@19KISStheSKY97 Jay z is far away from the best rappers my friend.. he doesn't produce his music, he only talks bullshit.. JAY Z IS NOT A MUSICIAN.. now get the fuck out of here.

How is one of the most influential sing/song-writers non-mainstream?
You're the most dim-minded cunt I've seen on youtube, assuming that people listen to Bob Dylan to look cool? No pal, we listen to Bob Dylan because his music and lyrics mean shit. Meanwhile, some phonies are earning millions simply because they're telling us how better their lives are than ours, whoever listens to that shit are the people who try to act cool, not the other way 'round.
Lol, unless you know the guy personally, I dont give two shits. Your post is still assumptious and false, you're assuming everyone who dislikes Jay Z, and likes Bob Dylan is a " fucking prick who doesnt appreciate music and chooses to listen to non-mainstream music to look cool ".
And to actually think that at one point, your brain thought that was a smart thing to say... Pathetic, go grab a few braincells, then you're more than welcome to come back and start a proper argument.
@bobbachubchub Know what? Yeah. Sure, whatever you say, buddy. I really don't give a fuck what you think. How the fuck can you stick up for him you don't know him personally, but say im only aloud to criticise him if I do. In fact dont answer that. I dont give a fuck.
Lol, how about you stop getting so butthurt about why I'm arguing with you, and actually focus on the argument I put out, rather than just dodge the main subject. But you probably wont, because you're an ignorant cunt, with no valid arguments behind his little hissy rants, you just go " You're a fucking prick, you fucking prick ", and think that you actually argued a point. You kids make me laugh.
@wedgeh05 But he was arguing a different case. It was like we were arguing two different arguments. He just avoided all my topics and just said random stuff that he thought.

@carlitooz357 Let me guess? your one of them people who stand for, 'bring real music back', BOB DYLAN probably was the jay z of his time. music, times, people, places change through 40 years y'know.
@Kingmerik999 and these idiots have so much love for famous people they'll never meet, for vlogers they'll probably never meet. yeah, these are really loving people, i guess, they only appear to be viciously opinionated sarcastic bastards. they use such high level applications -- how the hell can you even call html programming -- and think they're turing or something. i was at one time a programmer when the goddamn things didn't write and run themselves.
@Kingmerik999 i happen to like this song, BUT i think you're right about this trolling shit. people just want to hear what they want to hear. it's like they post whatever shit they post here and on other sites and then take the attitude if i want your opinion i'll give it to you. it's really a sort of psychosis i think. hitler and stalin had much the same approach. brain researchers have said the human brain is shrinking in key areas because of technology. i think that's true.
@rubberrev0lver i was only joking. i'm 49 -- much older than you, much younger than dylan (should he have a youtube account?) and i'm quite manic most of the time and have time for all sorts of things, useful or otherwise. i'm not ashamed to say you've really hurt my feelings, i hope you don't get insulted at my age the way you did to me. i was too young for real fun in the sixties and now i'm too old for technology we dreamt about for so long. thanks for using sarcasm to make me feel like shit.
@apronlesstemplah dam man, i really didnt wanna hurt your feelings, i was just joking. try not to let things people say on here affect you. people tend to say things they wouldnt if they were face to face. take it easy man
@rubberrev0lver and for christ's sake if dylan wanted his lyrics to be interpreted like some holy book he would have become one. he is supposedly chaplain, or was, at his lodge in hawaii.
at 13, i was riding on the back of a 63 chevy truck going to pick peaches in Marysville , calif, when this song popped on the radio in 69....it made me drop my homemade chicken sandwich........will never forget the power of his poetry.......and i didnt know how to speak english that well!!!!.......powerful music is disappearing.....
when our generation dies, so will good music..............punks today dont get it and never will.........aint it hard to discover that they really not where is at?............
@joseph95239 I hope you can rest assured that I am myself 16 years old and many many many of my classmates and close friends all live on none of the modern day music because it lacks the honesty that this type of music has...we will as individuals keep this music alive...
I like bob dylan but how did he shape the music of today. Have you heard todays music? It sounds nothing like this. Its hard to find music today that is this real and unrefined.
newrealization12: with so many people on this planet doing so many things, it's hard to pinpoint who really becomes responsible for inspiring what. i am just starting to really delve into dylan (i'm a smiths/cure guy) but from what i can tell he really started putting "angry," opinionated rock out there in a time when a lot of material was about being happy, in love, or on drugs. if you're being technical about it, i mean, punk has this attitude. though some say punk stemmed from glam.
@1963SLD the song does serve well as a metaphor for people who are abandoned by those in whom they have invested their faith...it is almost bittersweet when i see people on obamas back...you know, the people who thought one person had all their answers, whose parents booed dylan at newport. dont follow leaders and watch the pawking metaws
@poopbubu you are a fool of a took. what do you consider music. the music where the people make noises and producers auto tune it and the music is made from loops
@DocumentaryDoc listen closer, its actually for those who have fallen from grace, the washed up prince who used to use a peasant as a place to rest his feet who now finds hes got no shoes on his own
Dude you're not making a good case for yourself. If you don't like the song or the music, just say why. No need for calling people faggot and what-not. Your homework for tonight is to post something coherent and intelligent. You think you can do that, Homie?
@Mcpanicfanic He hasn't got a nice voice he has a good voice. Meaning he has a great voice for singing folk and rock but he doesn't have a nice voice and people often make the mistake that people who don't have a nice voice can't sing but Bob can sing brilliantly, just not nicely.
@machineswhatbanghtem Well thank you, and since it is up to me to decide whether he can sing billiantly or not I say he can sing brilliantly. Just not nicely.
@Mcpanicfanic who the fuck says bob dylan can't sing? He has an amazing unique voice that will never be heard again? I know your not calling him out but by saying "hes not terrible" doesn't give him the respect he deserves.
It's probably as you describe it. Most younger generations do not like older generations' music. But did you have to compare Dylan to the likes of Lady Gaga? Please?
@990Atwood: I see Bob Dylan as pop music. I think he was more of a fad than an artist. People have differing views, but that doesn't mean that anyone's dumber than anyone else.
I like other good music like David Bowie, Talking Heads, and Queen, but Bob Dylan just doesn't do it for me.
poor Edie ... riding on a chrome horse with her diplomat who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat. The she discovered he wasn't where its at after he took from her everything he could steal. Andy got his props at the end.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ok... So Bob Dylan is supposed to be "One of the greats" right? What is so great about him? His music is bearable, but great? People bill songs to him as the writer, but most of his songs are rips of others... as this song was a song by Muddy Waters.
@batreyud Muddy Waters song was about a man who devoted his life to adultery, as predicted by his father at birth, and is unrepentant.
This song is about a high society woman whose bad choices leave her destitute, and is sung from the position of a mocking associate.
The songs share no music and only one lyric, which is from an ancient Syrian proverb first translated into English in 1542. And man if you don't know the difference that may be why you can't get Dylan.
@dasmegabyte While I don't particularly like Bob Dylan I do love this song, and you're totally right about what the song's about. Anyone who doesn't know, watch the Rolling Stones cover version and video there's NO doubt what the song's about!
@batreyud Oh god "Like A Rolling Stone" and "Rollin' Stone" are two completely different songs you moron. I bet you don't even listen to Muddy Waters either.

newrealization12: with so many people on this planet doing so many things, it's hard to pinpoint who really becomes responsible for inspiring what. i am just starting to really delve into dylan (i'm a smiths/cure guy) but from what i can tell he really started putting "angry," opinionated rock out there in a time when a lot of material was about being happy, in love, or on drugs. if you're being technical about it, i mean, punk has this attitude. though some say punk stemmed from glam.

Bob Dylan is about truth and meaning,
The truth hurts, if you can't take it....well idk what to say.
This is for the poor, the forgotten, the loners, and the unknown people.

Dude you're not making a good case for yourself. If you don't like the song or the music, just say why. No need for calling people faggot and what-not. Your homework for tonight is to post something coherent and intelligent. You think you can do that, Homie?

i dont see why people say he cant sing. hes not terrible. beter than a lot of singers oday. they are all tweaked.
Mcpanicfanic 1 year ago 40
well, the singing wasnt what made him famous "although i think he sings just fine" Folk rock was more about the message than the sounds.
cdog991199 1 year ago
@Mcpanicfanic it's because most people are just parrots. Same people would claim Tom Waits can't sing. Hahaha!
Lapsanglover 1 year ago
@Mcpanicfanic He hasn't got a nice voice he has a good voice. Meaning he has a great voice for singing folk and rock but he doesn't have a nice voice and people often make the mistake that people who don't have a nice voice can't sing but Bob can sing brilliantly, just not nicely.
mcrichierich 6 months ago
@mcrichierich You are explaining with semantics.. and it's up to you whether he can sing "Brilliantly" or not
machineswhatbanghtem 6 months ago
@machineswhatbanghtem Well thank you, and since it is up to me to decide whether he can sing billiantly or not I say he can sing brilliantly. Just not nicely.
mcrichierich 6 months ago
@Mcpanicfanic who the fuck says bob dylan can't sing? He has an amazing unique voice that will never be heard again? I know your not calling him out but by saying "hes not terrible" doesn't give him the respect he deserves.

I am 16 and my favourite musicians are David Bowie, The Velvet Underground, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan.
His music will never die if only a fragment of the population listen to it

I don't think Dylan's standing the test of time.
My parents love his music, but to me his songs just sound like a bunch of cliches strung together.
I mean, sad clowns? That's the oldest image in the book.
Maybe if I had lived in his generation, but I think that like Lady Gaga, he's going to fade away.
oruga101 1 year ago
It's probably as you describe it. Most younger generations do not like older generations' music. But did you have to compare Dylan to the likes of Lady Gaga? Please?

Jesus...You kids are getting dumber & dumber by the year.
999Atwood 1 year ago 25
@990Atwood: I see Bob Dylan as pop music. I think he was more of a fad than an artist. People have differing views, but that doesn't mean that anyone's dumber than anyone else.
I like other good music like David Bowie, Talking Heads, and Queen, but Bob Dylan just doesn't do it for me.

Ok... So Bob Dylan is supposed to be "One of the greats" right? What is so great about him? His music is bearable, but great? People bill songs to him as the writer, but most of his songs are rips of others... as this song was a song by Muddy Waters.
batreyud 2 years ago
@batreyud Muddy Waters song was about a man who devoted his life to adultery, as predicted by his father at birth, and is unrepentant.
This song is about a high society woman whose bad choices leave her destitute, and is sung from the position of a mocking associate.
The songs share no music and only one lyric, which is from an ancient Syrian proverb first translated into English in 1542. And man if you don't know the difference that may be why you can't get Dylan.
dasmegabyte 2 years ago 22
@dasmegabyte While I don't particularly like Bob Dylan I do love this song, and you're totally right about what the song's about. Anyone who doesn't know, watch the Rolling Stones cover version and video there's NO doubt what the song's about!

@batreyud Oh god "Like A Rolling Stone" and "Rollin' Stone" are two completely different songs you moron. I bet you don't even listen to Muddy Waters either.
