I guess most modern musicians would have to go to the Musical Court of Justice - especially singing off-key without tune and still become recording artistes!
We are definitely in dire need of a Musical Court of justice !
i had this on vhs also! but it was all these mixes of old cartoons i remember the 2nd one was woody woodpecker and it was called something like 100 greatest cartoons or something and it had like a pale blue cover and ive always wanted to find it but i couldn't!
WHY DID CARTOONS FUCKING CHANGED!?!?!?!? Damn, it's not even from my generation and STILL I think it's 10000000 times better than cartoons today!!! At 18 years old, I can still enjoy this cartoon, but if I watch one of today's cartoons, I only wanna shoot myself -_____-'
@Gudulpif AMEN! I'm 18 here. I do like the older Lulu better, she was more rebellious. But damn, I fuckin hate Nick and Carton Failwork, they got RL SHOWS ON THAT SHIT!
Oh my, I watched all these old videos as a kid. Such nice memories. Little Audrey too. Apparently I cried when the tape ran out and my mom would rewind it so I could watch it all over. <3
HOLY CRAP!!! HHHOOOOLLLYYY CCRRAAPP!!!!!!! I FOUND IT I TRYED AND TRYED TO FIND THIS! I had to call my mom and like discribe the show and get her to tell me the the name! LOL!
No good for Little Lulu. I want a remastered versions of 40 little lulu cartoons with an opening paramount presents Little Lulu which ends with A Paramount Cartoon.
i remember watching this as a kid and not understanding anything, lol. But watching it now i'm laughing because i can understand the court sytem part .
I had a vhs tape of lulu when i was a youngin (born in '87) and it actually became un-playable after a while cuz i watched it SO much! I <3 little lulu!
I have a vhs of little lulu, the 40's version. Haha I was born in 94 XD I used to watch the vhs allll the time; I'm in love with this version of little lulu <3
I USED TO HAVE CHESSNUT WHEN I WAS A KID!!!I would wach it ALL the TIME!!! but then....that old cd got scrached up and i could never watch it ever again.
One of the writers was Otto Messmer, who created (and head animator of) Pat Sullivan's "Felix the Cat" in the 1920's, and also wrote and drew "Felix"'s daily and Sunday comic strip for King Features at the time. This was one of the last cartoons he worked on...

Really bad cartoons, I hated this type when I was a kid, descending into surrealism. They depicted parents as ultra authoritarian, school and learning as boring, and children as essentially lazy and bad. Hard to believe some people see these cartoons as "gold".
Our parents were much more authoritarian in that era, and these cartoons depicted the playful side in all children that like to test boundaries. I find that most of these old cartoons always had a moral lesson that showed us the consequences (in a humorous manner) for breaking the rules. Love these cartoons!
These style of cartoons gave me nightmares as a child... i dunno why... something about them just was creepy....... but i think Lulu was one of the few I found ok, along with Felix the Cat...
This show traumatized me as a child. I swear it creeped me out so much. Someone got me that tape when I was little of this exact episode. The music and the animation scared the crap out of me. I couldn't even watch the whole thing right now.
Adorable. Some of these had sequences that seem to me should be scary to a kid. I've rewatched some of these old cartoons, and they strike me that way anyway. They're still the best ever. Thanks.
@NonsensicalHandle I agree with you! That was meant to entertain the kids and it was well thought (I like the word you chose "clever"). Now, cartoons are meant to either educate the children so the parents won't have to do it themselves or just make them laugh at some stupid jokes that people tell with retarded faces.
Paramount Pictures' cartoon division, Famous Studios, made "Little Lulu" cartoons between 1943 and 1948. So, while yes, some of them were made during World War II, this one was made two years after the war ended.
Also, these weren't made as part of a television show. They were designed to be run in movie theaters before or between the main features.
