  • While some people argue that this should've been done in one take, I think it's fine how it is! This is a very hard piece to get down in one go. At least you did it all with your left hand and it sounds really good xP

  • Chopin must be crying in heaven, not only for our painful performances for over 160 years, but because "someone" it occurred distorting their work with a so-called improvements and greater complexity ... The reality is that the beauty of Chopin is that his works do not need any modification.

  • @Marcelo721 That's like saying "I've created the best cake ever. No one eat it." Someone has to try it, right? Interpretations are made for a different look at things. If we were to all have this close-mindedness, we'd live in a horrible age, especially as far as the arts go.

And even if someone "distorts" their work, why should it matter!? It's not made for improvements (as far as sound goes) and maybe a greater complexity, but it's for a another set of etudes that are made to teach.

  • Wow you guys are, like, SOOOOOOOOOOOO smart at critiquing. OMG OMG OMG. And your repertoire of original music that you've written yourself is like, SOOOOOOOOOOO vast.

  • Ceci est un exercice-mécanisme basé sur l'opus 25/12 de Chopin...assez avancé comme niveau! Très dramatique et superbe, merci Godowsky! Tu as réussi a faire revivre les oeuvres de Chopin.

  • It's okay for Youtube purposes that you used editing, but I agree about auditions.

Great performance! Still sounds very oceany with just one hand!

  • I like it!

Both the original and Godowski versions are quite hard to play.

    Congratulations to the player!

  • It's either you are tired, or you forgot, or you played wrongly...that is why you edited the video. But can't you rerecord and play a fluent one? Why you want you record it if you are not prepared?

  • Well done on this extremely difficult étude.

  • Good job man. I want to learn some of these too.

  • Ce qui serait encore plus fort, c'est qu'en même temps, il se branle avec la main droite ! Mdrrrr

    Non mais respect ;-)

  • the editing of the video at 1:18 is obvious--youtube users won't care but I'd think twice about using this for a school application! Just advice :)

  • 1.15 lol...

  • 1:39 too

But despite that it's good. It's a very hard etude.

  • @shnitzit I would say the same thing. Even though he have done this down quite nicely, there is still huge work to get it to a level when only making it to be a good piece of a music is the hard part.

  • good job , you're awesome!

  • Fantastic effort for what is a VERY difficult piece.

    well done and keep practising.

  • hes not a professionla, give him a break, hes doing incredibly well to play it at all, doesnt matter how well for now, besides once you have it technically nailed, then you add in dynamics and shading.

  • '''don't expect aldebussy to understand that. He's only 16!!!!

    Ive already rebuked him..

  • to be fair, im only 18 :P but yeh i hate these pretentious 'kids' who think they know better, and yeh they are one of the very view on the page here that doesnt post videos of piano themselves.

  • Its a very very tricky piece yet you feel inclined to tear this guy's attempt to pieces and what's more your just 16.

    Please, GROW UP QUICKLY!

    until then:

    SHUT UP QUICKLY!

There's nothing worse than kids who think they know it all...

  • yeh there is! kids who actually DO know it all. i fucking hate them! :D

  • I'm 16 (hope that still counts as a kid) and do know it all!:P Taking into consideration my whole knowledge I hereby declare that this piano player kicks ass.

  • Wow, that study looks brutal.

  • RESPECT!

  • There are some critics again...:-(

I´ve heard this study many times and I´ve some friend studying this (me too). It is really genial composition and it doesn´t exist an universal form how to play it. The same holds for Chopin´s original. Personally I play it in a similar way so I enjoy that. Basically. More legato (it will be better with time) and it´s super!

  • I didn't enjoy that, while I usually do for this piece.

  • I cant beliieve there are so many young pianists taclikng these tings now. G would maybe be happy. im still struggling with the Choiin originals. this is very nicely played.

  • i think most people struggle with the chopin originals =]

we are the chosen few :D

  • were did u get the music from

  • I found it on imslp dot org

  • Excellent.I have the same sheet and Im studing that etude. Can you tell me your age? Im also left handed and I play guitar too, but not like U do.

  • glenn du Narr!!!

  • I don't agree with your interpretation. Particularly the absence of dynamics..

However, I commend your effort and ability to tackle this and other difficult works at such a young age.

  • Eh, if only it was all done in 1 take.

  • lol. true, but its so hard to play when your being recorded and not mess up.

  • alsome man u rock

  • Can you please upload or send me the sheet music please?

  • godowsky and all that one hand stuff is great to impress girls, too. let me tell you lol. it's because you can have your right arm around them and play something really sweet ;)

  • Never thought of it like that. Oh but if only I could amaze with something like Godowsky. This stuff is a planet away.

  • Well, then play it better and post it on Youtube, you jerk!

  • Great idea, I'll have to learn one of them =)

  • bravo!

  • awasome performance it's like your fingers move on their own

  • Damn - Your piano skills rules!

  • your sick man...excellent

  • Wow, that is talent.
