  • beautiful

  • Kishoriji would've been the perfect ornament to this song. I say this not because she is a better singer than Lataji, but because she is actually devoted to Sri Krsnacandra.

  • God bless the ONE , who dislikes this BHAJAN.

Great vocals by LATAJI & BHIMSEN JI.

  • what a nice bhajan gives the feel that you are standing in front of lord KRISHNA thanks for uploading the song

  • A rare combination of queen of melody and emperor of class...

  • Whenever we are at any forum which is about the greatness of any Indian, the reagionalism has to arriv at it and that itself shows we are yet too far from coming together---United, to take on the world.

These legends --The god did not send them on The Pruthvi to creat fights and arguments---But just enjoy his Power , love and greatness.

Just close your eyes and listen and it will take you on a different level

  • Thanks for upload.Divine singing by Immortals.

  • Just plain BEAUTIFUL.. Filmy music is shit

  • I love this bhajan..What a voice ..two legends are singing such a wonderful songs...

  • Wonderful, thank you for uploading...

  • Modern states have modern boundaries. A lot of western and Northern parts of what is Karnataka today has populations that culturally similar and belong equally to Maharastrian and Kannada areas. Panditji was equally at ease singing Kannada keertanas as well as Marathi abhangs.

  • listening to pandit ji voice gave an agnostic like myself a glimpse of what the divine would have been like, if the divine existed.

  • This is one of the best bhajans of Pt Bhimsen Joshi. Today he passed away, but this eternal voice will always be with us!

  • which raaga is this song from?

  • @psanika sounds like raga patdeep.

  • no words to say its speechless, its legend

  • interesting video :]

  • The intersting story about this song is that originally the composer Shriniwas Khale had planned this song only as the bhajan sang by Lataji. When however Panditji heard the song he insisted that he will sing it too. The portion by Panditji was recorded separately and added and made into a duet. It was not recorded as a duet

  • @srtambe Shankar Mahadevan played veena for the recording at the age of 12. He is a disciple of Shrinivas Khale

  • BHARAT RATNA Lata Mangeshkar and BHARAT RATNA Pt. Bhimsen Joshi...make me a proud Maharashtrian and Indian...Nice Bhajan and God Bless Both!!!

  • idiot...

Pt. Bhimsen Joshi is not a Maharashtrian...

    he is from Dharwad (Karnataka)

    Jai karnataka...& jai INDIA

  • Forgive my ignorance, but I was under the impression that Panditji is an ethinic Marathi from Dharwad. Anyways, he is a treasure for us all indians, and I believe people like him are above such petty quarrels about being Marathi, or Bihari or Kannadiga :)

    Jai Hind

  • @AnuragDave - does that make any sense whether both of them was from Maharashtra or Karnataka? The song is devoted to Lord Krishna. Should we stop worshiping him and Lord Rama just because they were born in Mathura and Ayodhya? So just enjoy the song and the rich Indian culture

  • @pritiindia It seems like you have replied to my comment without actually reading it. I said that "Panditji is above such petty quarrels" ! What I meant was that it doesnot matter which region of India he belongs to. So what is wrong in saying that he is Marathi from Dharwad region ? In fact I firmly believe that we should put our indian identity above regional identity. Our traditions and culture is that underlying thread of indianness which connects us all.

  • @pritiindia However, just saying that Lord Krishna was born in Mathura does not mean that one is trying to bring regionalism into the debate. That is said simply to put the record straight. Simiilarly, my reference to Panditji's ethnic origins was not aimed at bringing a dimension of regionalism into it.

  • @abhaygudi: There are a lot of Marathi's in the north Karnataka region (inlc Dharwad ) .. even his Guru Sawai gandharva was also from Dharwad but another Marathi. Also more importantly, he has chosen to spend all this active life in Pune, and everyone from his speak only Marathi and not kannad !

  • @abhaygudi

Yes, Panditji is from Gadag [Dhrawad district] and spent his early childhood in that region.

You must not forget though that he spent large part of his life in Pune and his music blossomed while there.

In any case for a musician of his stature, it goes beyond any particular state. He belongs to the whole nation.

  • @abhaygudi does it make any difference where is he from ?

  • @abhaygudi - when we start saying only jai bharata? I am a Kanndiga but that doesn't mean that I too start quarreling like few language made people? What is Jai Karnataka. It is all about song, devotion and piousness. What we are doing is diluting the serenity and piousness of the bhajan, the song and the bliss of devotion. Krisha was from UP Mathura? So will you stop praying?

  • @abhaygudi - we are dividing ourselves every minute. not the politicians. If you dislike other language speaking people you should also stop worshiping lord Rama and lord Krishna because they were born in North India (UP precisely) Think twice before you comment like this. This is anti national. Loving your language is good but hating other countrymen is betraying your country. I am a Kanadiga and I am proud of it. But, Pt. Bhimsen is above all this. He is Indian and have sung in 7 languages.

  • @live24x7 Good one...we are all one..

  • @abhaygudi
