  • Just a wonderful man....Mr. McGrath, thank you for everything that you have done throughout your lifetime.....You are greatly appreciated and loved.

  • doesnt the old guy in (saw) look a little like bob on halloween bob could do the voice big bird id like to play a game could be at the counts house nothing bad but hay the kid moms an dads would get a kick out of it

  • I met Bob in Newark INT Airport about 15 years ago waiting for a flight. Very nice person :-)

  • Bob was also on "I've got a Secret." Both that and the To tell the Truth clips can be found here on YouTube.

  • Oh, don't we all wish that Bob was "a person in our neighborhood"? I'm not talking seeing him on the show. I mean in person, next door to everybody.

  • May Jesus's blessings be with you Mr. McGrath. Even on an island as far away in the Caribbean as Trinidad, you and your colleagues have impacted our lives in such an enormous way. I remember looking at you on Sesame Street during the late 1970's and 80's every weekday and admired your poise and decorum. Sesame Street just isn't the same today as we near the second coming of Christ. Sure hope you are on board! Thank you for all the memories Mr. McGrath.

  • I love how his face lights up when talking about his childhood years...I have great respect for you Bob God bless ....

  • When i was a kid(im 43 now) my friend Matts Aunt Judy lived a few doors next to.Bob. I remember the pet rabbits he had. Bob was so gracious and just a humble and decent person, glad to say he was the first celebrity I ever met. He's still a superhero to me today.

  • I love you Bob McGrath <3

  • Mr. Rogers, and Bob McGrath, along with myself are echo's. children and adults have hearts, nobody tries to get to know people anymore like that, i do, and Bob, and Fred Rogers ( may he rest in piece with the lord) good on ya

  • Thank you Bob.

  • funny she asked about his siblings an he talked about his kids.

  • met him today... he was so amazingly nice... such a great human being

  • ugh i am 40 and remember him when i was growing up....

    and Mr Hooper - RIP

  • Mr Hooper would be well over 100 by now, no?

  • Very easy man....Bob. I could not see Bob ever get angry at anything...he was always happy (well, not when Mr Hooper died) but he is not a person who appears to ever be angry.

I think Bob was a great person to be involved in Sesame Street with both his ability, and his personality.

  • Oh, he's been angry alright. It's happened on the show. But that's only natural. He's human, is he not?

  • I can't believe he's 77 now!

  • Love him! Brings back wonderful memories of my youth. :)

  • What a great guy.

  • i loved this guy on sesame street as a kid

  • Fantastic Interview.

  • Happy Birthday to Bob the music man. He's 77 now. whoa, good for him.

  • Bob is an alum of the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club. I got to have dinner with him after we sang at Carnegie Hall.

  • Bob was my favorite adult person on Sesame Street.

  • Wow, didn't realize Bob was that Old, guess most of the stuff I saw with Bob in it back when I was 6 was maybe stuff from a decade or so before that.

  • He looks good for his age.

Have a great weekend. Puerto Rican Love from NYC!

  • And his birthday's in a few days. Happy birthday, Bob! Love you always. My role model, my inspiration for all time.

  • Damn, I never knew he was drafted. Thank god he went to Germany, we might never have had his wonderful talent to enjoy.

  • Bob McGrath is a legend for all generations!!! He is a true educator, traditionalist, and cares about people!!! God Bless You, Mr. McGrath!! Thanks for all the Sesame Street memories you share with children and adults alike. No one can ever replace you!!

  • My husband read David died of stomach cancer, definitely in his early 40s. He left a wife and kids. Very, very sad.

I love Bob. I listened to him on my parents Mitch Miller records and didn't know it was him!

  • Bob was always my favorite. There was such a sweetness to his character, and fortunately it looks like he was just playing himself!

  • I actually got to meet Bob a few years ago whilst I was waiting to board my plane at Newark INT airport. Very nice man :-)

  • This must be a really old interview because he sure doesn't look 76. Probabally because he's so layed back and relaxed, and such an awesome guy. I grew up watching Sesame Street, and he always does Tele-Miracle every year here in Saskatchewan, Canada. Bob is a saint.

  • I'm glad he's still on Sesame Street. I wonder what happened to David and Luis?

  • David (Northern Calloway) passed away January of 1990 at age (42?) from an illness. I'm not sure what happened to Luis. From last I heard, he was still on the show (sorry)

  • Luis is still on the show.

  • Thank you Bob McGrath for the best kids tv show ever was and ever will be.

  • LEGEND!

  • Wasn't he big in Japan in the early '60s before Sesame Street?

  • every westerner is big in Japan.

  • Thank you Sir.
