He refused to be labeled the "player" that most male pop/r&b singers are... Because of that the mainstream music fans and Executives viewed him as non-marketable. After he divorced his long-time wife in early 2000's he gained some more notoriety and exposure. He is second only to Stevie Wonder in vocal ability...........
