  • Is breá liom an t-amhrán (-:

  • Celtic Folkweaves lives on go raibh maith agat

  • Abbyamadan - Hope the LP turns up soon! it really is a timeless piece of genius.

  • Nach brea agus go pintealta a rinne tu an fis seo agus an teacs iomlan lena leamh leis.

Is ceann des na hamhrain is deise ata le fail in Eirinn e seo agus nach brea seim a chanann Micheal e.

  • BEAUTIFUL..

  • Wow, I lost the LP, great to hear one of my favourite songs again...!

  • Heaps better than the Altan version. This is beyond compare.

  • @carollizc It's all about taste. I think Altan's is pretty nice too. Micheál's singing is just incomparable... May he rest in peace.

  • Is this not yet another classic fallen into the Celtic Music Ltd Black Hole?

  • @sconefairy Perhaps ...but they can still be found outside the Black Hole ..but it's getting harder to find them ....that generation is getting thin on the ground ...so unless the younger folk get after it it will become extinct in this form.

  • Thanks Antoyout

I'm serious in my comment about the master-tapes - anyone know of their whereabouts?

  • No disrespect to Planxty, Tir NaNog, et al , but this beautiful song comes from the finest Irish folk album ever released: 'Celtic Folkweave'. 1974 , I think - Vinyl very hard to find - was never released onto CD.

If anyone knows whose got the master tapes, contact me and i promise i'll re-release it myself.

  • Port75

Well said, a true classic, great songs.

the Glasgow Barber is a classic.

  • @port75 Tá an ceirnín 'Celtic Folkweave' agamsa 'on treimhse sin (deas a bheith sean!) ach ní fhagaidh sé riamh mo theach!

  • what a beautiful voice the man had. I dont understand a word but it speaks to me as if from a past life...

    GB

  • This is classic at its best, good on ye Micheal, and God rest

  • I don't understand the words , but the music is beautiful . I saw them in Britanny in 1973 or 74 . Great artists !
