  • I lost my DAD and two of my uncle there! I will never forget about them.

  • My husband was there in 1969-70 in the 1st Marine Division in DaNang...God bless all of you who served...you did NOT get the recognition you deserved...I, for one, and thankful for your service...Thank God my husband came back in one piece, but the nightmares still come.

  • As i am born in '75 in germany and later moved to Denmark i have no personal relations to the Vietnam War. With that said i stille respekt and honour the serviceman fighting for their country. I guess it is that special bond soldier to soldier.

    We will remember them.

  • My father served two voluntary tours in Viet Nam from '66-'69. This song reminds me of him and often brings tears to my eyes. RIP Dad.

  • anyone know where i can learn this for guitar?

  • I work with a lot of Vetnamese students. Thank you. This presentation makes it easier to say sorry,

  • Outstanding......Well Done....PEACE ...

  • Iam a vet i was 17 whin i went 2 vietnam an d scared i became a gunner on a UH-1 I was 1 of the luckey 1s that made it home but i lost alot of buddies i havet 2 admet iam crying god bless all r vets YOU ARE NOT FORRGOTTEN

  • @Bolamaster We are not mad, we feel bad for you I mean militarily we kicked your ass you lost 10 to our 1, but we are still the hegemonic power and our goal is world peace.

    USA POWNS

  • @TheIronClimber So world peace by force? You tried it so many times and still try. You mean World domination is your goal? Never happen Peacekeeper.

  • @TheIronClimber if the US wants world peace keep YOUR people safe im an arab and i want no war with you or the taliban the step to world peace isn't the suffering of your people. Americans shouldn't suffer like they did in vietnam and continue to in afghanistan

  • thankyou

    all of you

  • My old man volunteered in 66 right out of highschooled, served his first term then went for a second. Was in the airforce fixin planes. He was on the saigon airbase during tet of 68. He passed away just before retirement at 62. I'm sure he would appreciate this.

  • @billyrainbowacs while I do think that "thanking a soldier is" overkill...not to mention an overblown, overdone and empty "gesture," calling all soldiers criminals is a little bit of overkill.

"All the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting." --George Orwell.

  • its honestly sad how many vets who payed more than anyone else in the country are homeless

  • UNCLE HARRY O,SHEA MARINES 1966 GOD BLESS U SIR

  • some people hate the vietnam vets but not me, u have my thanks, for surving this country

  • @taylor32532541 We should start a movement to spit on all of them and put them all in their places.

  • @billyrainbowacs I don't care that you dodged the draft...I may have myself if I wasn't a kid back then but don't rale on those who served...most were the children of WW2 vets and were brought up believing that when your country calls you to serve you step up. Rale on the government of the day if you want...I have problems with the Vietnam conflict as far as reasons and justification go but answering the call is in no way dishonorable. Posting what you posted on here most certainly is though.

  • I was just a kid during the Vietnam war but I remember the chaos...I am sincerely glad for those who made it home and saddened for the families of those who didn't. I know the country didn't look after the Vietnam Vets and many have since lived in abject poverty, homeless, untreated for what would later be termed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and all I can say is: Is there anything anybody can do today to try and make up for it??

  • @billyrainbowacs You know who won you your right to speak your opinion? That would be soldiers. And don't you dare care soldiers terrorists you filthy pussy you dont deserve to live here in this country.

  • @billyrainbowacs coward u dont deserve to live in the usa

  • Not a day goes by that I don't remember my time there and my brothers there. Thank you for the post. Peace.

  • @Gamardo95 Respect my brother iam a afghanistan veteran from europe Holland same shit when bullits flys around an hell breakes lose i forgot about politcs and rights still think USA EUROPE UK are the best in the world

  • Noticed there were Skull and Bones members among the officers.

  • Too many veterans are still homeless, unemployed or chemically dependent and/or "self-medicated" b/c of untreated pain from their experiences. Part of the "Big Government" that conservatives want to cut is the programs that help our veterans that our society failed to keep its promise to. Remember that next time before you vote Republican.

  • One thing ever since I was a little boy I always have had s pecial place in my heart for the Vietnam Veterans and still do. Thank you Vietnam Vets VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes it did happen. I was there in 70-71 4/60 arty. Myself and and my Brothers didn't get no respect from the public when we got back home. In Memory to all the names on the wall, respect & honor for the Brothers who have given all. Glad the American press & public is now showing respect to the Veterans and ones that is serving aboard. Thanks for posting the video for us Vietnam Veterans.

    Jerry

  • Thank you for posting this video for us Vietnam Veterans, alot of us who made it back are now dealing with agent orange related diseases. 9th Inf, 67-68 Remember those whose name is on the wall. Bill

  • @ronroni52 That is true!! The Gov was/is more interested in their selves than the man in the mud. BUT, it takes men who serve to act as the pawns in the Game. We have to remember Brothers who have given all (sometimes in our place) and this is what this is about. Not glorification of their deaths, but in memory. Be safe and free because of these men we thank and honor. Set aside the hatred of the Gov for this day, Memorial Day is a day to remember our Brothers with a clean heart.

  • an amazing tribute to the men who fought not because they believed in a cause but because their government told them it was what they had to do.

  • We should never forget the veterans who fought in the Vietnam War. They fought for US and not just for themselves. Thank you everyone who protects out country and who used to protect us.

  • this is a beautiful & so very sad video, thank you for making this

  • @endracismguy - if this video had pictures of Bundy or McNamara or LBJ you might be more justified in your criticism. however, if you think the young grunts that hopped off a helo into a hot LZ were all little Col. Kilgore's or Lt. Calley's with a flag in one hand and a rifle in the other, you are sadly mistaken. the US may have been on the wrong side of history in SE Asia but why hold the servicemen accountable for gov. policy? thank you for your sacrifice and service vets!

  • In my book they are the best of the best !!! God bless every single one of them !!!

  • this version of the song is amazing

  • I did a huge report on the Vietnam War..lot of work and hours in the report. I got a A on the report. Had a time line set up, pictures, even had a video set up interview withn a few veterans. Very earth moving. Did lot of research and hours on it and I am proud of the project. Also want to thank the Veterans of helping on my project and also for our freedom.

  • In my opinion they were the realest men.

  • My Dad was a vietnam vet , was a outlaw biker, died broke ina motorhome, but was the best ,toughest most loving man i ever knew, gave his silverstar and purple heart back numerous times, God bless his soul

  • RIPto all the soildiers , and to my uncle he aint never came back, my aunt still thinks hes comeing back but hes gone with the wind.

  • Its amazing how many people have misunderstood the meaning of this song. Its pointing out the stupidity of being overly patriotic.

Thousands of young patriotic kids volunteered for Vietnam - only to come back as unwanted men as the war was deemed a failure - they didnt come back as the hero's they thought they'd be - or deserved to be

  • i was a navy seal 1969 in vietnam

  • @tetleys222 thank you for your duty

  • my dad was a green beret in vietnam in 68-71 5/7 2/8 1 air cav vietnam vets are like my family we lost many great soldiers in the war but there never forgotten

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA

    SEMPER FIDELIS

    SAT CONG

  • I like this my dad is a Vietnam Veteran GOOD BLES ALL ARE VETERANS!!!!

  • god fucking bless all the nam veterans i know all about the living conditions alot of americans were treated like shit there and it saddens me............ no man ever lost a war for dying for his country he won it with his honor.

join my group on facebook for the veterans if you want

    no more homless vietnam veterans

  • vietnam vets tug at my heart. they are awesome!!! god bless each and every one of them!!! xoxo

  • vietnam vets tug at my heart. they are awesome!!! god bless each and every one of them!!! xoxo

  • vietnam vets tug at my heart. they are awesome!!! god bless each and every one of them!!! xoxo

  • i know plenty of facts bout the war and im 13 the living conditions were terrible it was common for men to die of disease. and i got 4 vietnam war stories if anyone wants to hear them messaeg me and ill let you listen to each one, there all from the eyes of my grandpa when he served there as a sniper and from other men as well

  • I don't think that young american people know these facts about Vietnam War. They should know these facts. And then, they might protest against current two wars. When I saw that the author of "Born on the 4th of July" talked about meeting Bruce in late 70s at Kennedy Center Award Ceremony last year, I shed tears.

  • The college exemption destroyed our country and precluded any chance of maintaining the social cohesion required in fighting a war, especially one such as Vietnam, which was but a part of a much larger ideological conflict. When parts of society can voluntarily opt out of a war, they avoid making the effort to deal with the realities of that conflict.

  • my grandpa served from 65-68 as an unbadged seargent 1st infantry devision his base was bordered between north and south vietnam

  • That was an awesome tribute to our troops.

    Great images and song.

    Thank you for posting.

    A Proud US Navy Veteran!

    5 *s!

  • no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country you make the other poor dumb bastard die for his country George S. Patton

  • This is a very moving video. I will never forget the Vietnam War and the soldiers who fought for us, the POWs, and those men who have never been found. I have a dear friend who was a young Navy Medic and he has bad PTSD. He will have nightmares and flashbacks where he sees the faces and can hear the screams of the men who were wounded crying out for help and he can see those boys who he tried to save..and he can still see the faces of those who died while he tried to save them.

  • i have a story that relates to it actually afew if u wanna hear just ask its about 3 guys one of whitch wouldnt give a name

    the other 2

    denny johanson

    george J lykam

  • My Dad was there 66-67 in Cu Chi with the 25th INF. All of the Vietnam Veterans are my family. I will never forget and neither should anyone else.

  • @BuellBri right on my dad was there and so was my grandfather god bless you

  • @BuellBri My dad was also in cu-chi in 66 -67...He was and always will be a wolfhound..Him and his best friend Ronny Egglstein.....left cicnicinnati ohio young kids. They fought together in those jungles of vietnam.Ronny never made it back,he was killed in an ambush 3weeks before he was to come back home.your with ronny now dad looking down from up above.Im proud of you and miss you!

  • @BuellBri Mine grandpa was a Marine.. In 'Nam, He got shot down in a huey, and died with 6 other men. because right when they fell, they got ambushed.

  • The troops being spit on is a myth. Never happened. One troop reported being spit on and wasn't even sure. No troops have said they were spit on, it's urban legend.

  • a close frien of mine was not only spit but someone threw goats blood on his white navy uniform after 4 years in the jungle

  • Tell you what. I was there in 67-68 2/12 1st. Cav. It happened, trust me, in El Cerrito, Calif

  • jrmsher my fucking grandpa was spat on by a flower child and called a baby killer so dont tell me its a fucking myth hes lucky he was behind a fence too so dont tell me or anybody else its a fucking myth

  • Yea, maybe "fuck Nixon." But my uncle's blood was never misunderstood; He fought for you and me and he knew much of nothing about "fuck Nixon." Hope you sleep good in this "Free Country" and Yea, Fuck Tricky Nixon!

  • he fought ,because he was stupid.Vietnamese no threatened USA

  • Fuck the quote by Nixon though. If the troops want to talk about it being misunderstood, fine. But that fascist bastard N is the reason it's so misunderstood. It's a shame there's not a hell, because if there was, he'd be burning in it.

  • Great job well done.

  • nice movie great job
