I work in Shenandoah. The reason for tension is the increase of crime since the illegals started moving in. Most of the people in this town have families that have been here for generations so when you have people move here that increase crime and cause a crash in property value it causes tension. A house in Shenandoah can now be purchased for $1000.00. Dont get me wrong I dont have a problem with Mexicans. But its the illegals that are causing the problem.
@pickelmotoguzzi I think it's unfortunate that they give they own people a bad name like that. I lived in a Mexican community in upstate New York, one the the safest, cleanest most peaceful places I've lived. It's criminals that cause these problems and people get labeled as racist (which some people are) but if a bunch of Americans went to Mexico, to a good community, started selling drugs and terrorizing people, there would be problems too. It seems like that town is falling apart.
