  • omg. u could of killed the turtle if its backwards. it could die if its like that for a long time. also ur dirtying his shell in the mud.if ur not gonna clean the turtle than dont dirty it. i bet u cant even take urself a bath! jerks but nice vid, srry to make u feel bad but its the truth. it just breaks my heart when animals get hurt or injured. and i just finished watching the vid and u NEVER EVER hold a turtle by the tail .u can kill it!!! but im glad u let it free!!=) nice vid by the way =)

  • @kbpuppy when its a snapper, you ALWAYS hold it by the tail, it doesnt actualyl harm the turtle, at least not snappers, maybe smaller turtles ith alot of weight and smaller tails, but if your holding a snapper nywhere BUT the tail, you are sriously risking getting bit, you may not realize but Snappers have really far bite reach hold em from the side of the shell? BIG mistake, cus they can swing their head around and BITE just about that far

so play it safe or get hurt, your choice pal

  • What do you don if the hook is in the mouth

  • @jeff8fach8 sometimes the hook can not be removed, but by placing the stick in its mouth and stepping on it gives access to its mouth. if whire snips fit nipp the eye or barb

  • It's called cutin the line u idiot !!!

  • @2212trinity yeah but tht leaves the hook in the mouth of the turtle which if it stys there cna cause much greater damage ya dumbass, their trying to remove the hook, not let the turtle die in the future because a hook lodged in its mouth punctured its brain when it bit something

  • @Lavos2007 the hook will rust on in a coupleweeks and a hook cant pucture the skull of a snaping turtle

  • I'm glade to see the hook is out but you are not supposed to hold them by the tail. It is a common misconception that common snapping turtles may be safely picked up by the tail with no harm to the animal; in fact, this has a high chance of injuring the turtle, especially the tail itself and the vertebral column. Which means you have a high chance of killing the turtle.

  • @Littlenipper55 not true, please learn facts about turtles in particular Snappers, snappers have large enough tails that picking them up by the tail is much less harmful to them than doing the same thing to a box turtle

also "by the tail" is really the only safe way to a handle a wild snapper, most people are stupid and hold the sides of the shell by mistake, well, Snappers can bite about that far so if you wanna risk getting bitten, hold em by the shell, be warned, they are powerul turtles

  • @Lavos2007 I'm sorry to say but that is a fact, I didn't pull it out of thin air

  • way tooooo goooooooo!!!! great job!!!!

  • cut the line...

  • i caught 6 of them things today!

  • its ok I Eat Fish, Because they dont have Any Feelings

  • I did not know how to remove a hook from a turtle, we just ate them, most were crossing the road. lol you and your dad *****

  • @FauxxGraphix1 well, you Snapper Eaters/Killers are one reason the Alligator Snapper is now on the Endangered Species, Snappers become aggressive ONLY on land, where their not safe, in the water, snappers will completely ignore you and leave you alone if your swimmig among them, but when their on land, they cant just swim away from annoyances, their very slow on land which makes them easy prey for other animals that wouldnt hesitate to attack a slow defenseless turtle, so their defense is biting

  • @FauxxGraphix1 This is Turtle Mating season they are cumming out of the mud crossing the roads to meet their mates (dad allmost hit 5 of them on a 50 mile ride on his bike).

  • that looks kinda small to be 16 lbs....i just caught one that had a way bigger shell and he was 18 lbs....trapping season for snapping turtles just started yesterday in pennsylvania and i already have 4

  • Some of these videos don't really do the turtles justice, we caught a 15 pounder that was about that looks about the same size in our video.

  • maybe you should have fed it your head that way nothing usefull would have been lost

  • The big turtle i caught last year was a common, but it was different.. it wasnt smoothe on the top it was very rugged?? i know it wasnt an alligator snapper =()

  • good for grillin'. Makes me want to head down to the lake.

  • if u get one of them while its young(first few weeks of life) you can train it to be nice as long as u hold it for about an hour a day. ive had 6. only one of them turned out to be mean as that one....but that one we got around that size....

  • i hate snapping turtles but its fun to shoot them in the head with a 22

  • eatin turtles thats nasty as fuck

  • good eating right there

  • thats when you get the 300 wby mag and dessert eagle out lol.

  • wouldnt get so close to that thing if i were you... those things can bite right through your skin and they can be pretty tricky with it

  • they can also bite ur finger if big enough

  • you should have made soup out of it

  • took it back to the water

  • Always move a snapping turtle by grabbing its tail...hope you guys took it back to the water !!

  • thats just a common snapping turtle, not an alligator snapping turtle.

  • Sorry

  • let me guess you ate it?
