  • you should use lego bricks.

  • it costs $400,000 to fire this weapon for 12 seconds

  • @thebackyardmovies Would people shut up about TF2 ?

  • @1342hack but it's an awesome game

  • @plm9872 I know

  • @thebackyardmovies I wonder when all the 8 year olds are going to stop talk about TF2

  • hey, could you please tell me what brand of lego motor you used in this video?

  • i made a semi-auto lego pistol with detachable magazines...i posted the video if you're interested.

  • u should get a high speed camera and do epic slow-mo's

but im guessing that you already took this apart

  • @sumwunudontknow

Only about 2 and half years too late

I'm thinking about doing some more lego videos at some point, so maybe I'll rebuild it one day

  • @st0rmforce im 3 and a half year sto late

  • the sims rock station :D

  • you should try spinning the barrel the other way

  • Some 1! please do the minigun barrel instructions, becose i dont know how to. i have done only 4 barreled minigun!! please help with a message!!

  • The legoguns forum is down, have you posted the instructions anywhere else?

  • no

I can't remember doing it again

  • Dang...

  • nice work exept thats not a chaingun...its a minigun..a chain gun has a chain that goes into the gun with a belt...a minigun has a clip mounted right onto the gun like urs...chainsaw is belt fed into the firing chamber..nice try tho :D

  • @POPCORN454545

Um I'm not really sure what your trying to say, but I think you're partly wrong. Yes it isn't a chaingun, technically its a gatling style gun.

    Chainguns are chain-driven single barrel.

    A gatling style is multibarreled.

A minigun is a particular gun, the M134.

Wouldn't it be good if people looked things up before saying things

  • .well..yeah ur right on the chain driven but....its not sin gle barrel...or there would be no point..its 6 or 8...cant remember

  • if you made the thing that sits on the trigger and jams the gun sit the other way it wont jam :-)

  • congratulations you are the 1,000,000th person to have said that!

Contact me with your address and I'll send you your prize.

A mug with "I don't read video descriptions" on it

  • she ways 150 kilograms and fires yellow custom rubber bands, it costs 50p to fire this weapon..... for 12 seconds!

  • The multi-trigger system is very inefficient, you probably found that out by building this gun. I'm all for a mini gun that doesn't use the string and barrels system, but so far this is the only type.

  • There's a related video by Legoweapond (it shoots LEGO PIECES!) which is an improvement on this one.

    It's pretty good.

He had a good look at my instructions and made something better.

  • Very nice

  • pls people stop making these guns XD if you hit someone in the eye with those rubber bands let me laugh at them LOL

  • sweet gun!

    name of song?

  • nice one i made a minigun

  • wow u put a lot of effort into that gun!!!!

  • follow the link in the description. The instructions are in the instructions section

  • dude thats the coolest thing ive ever seen can u send me instructions for that that would make me the happiest man alive

  • very good. pls can u make full instructions?

send me a message when u made that!

  • i never have made a chain/gatling gun but i knoticed why your gun keeps jamming. the trigger goes under the mini triggers. why dont you

    1. make the motor spin the other way (i dont know if you can do that or not)

    2. turnthe trigger so it is facing the other way

  • lol lego man massacre...

  • thank you

  • lol just kidding mate your chaingun is awesome....the only thing i ever made with a lego is a gun that cant even shoot :(

  • It's sooooooo cool

  • who died the maker or the gun?

  • I only just realised that that's what it sounds like.

No I'm not dead, the gun is.

  • i made a chaingun but it doesnt preform exactly what i want to to...it wont take lots of rubberbands because when there are many on the 64 tooth gears (The bigest gear)...once it fires it fires 3 of them at once! not one at onece...also, the rate of fire isnt consistent...plz help and give me some tips!

  • where do u get the thing that holds your rubberband its a technic piece its like a wheel plz replay i realll want to get 1 of it thx btw awsome video! i subscribed!!

  • its a 16 tooth gear. I got it with one of my lego kits ages ago. you can get them on ebay

  • Yeah, thats very very very very awesome, very good work !!!!!!!

Please check out my Lego guns, and please give comments!!!

  • Instructions Please!

  • I made some intstructions a while back. There's a link at the bottom of the description.

I didn't bother making any more because the only feedback I ever got was "they don't make sense, you're shit"

  • I dont see a link -.-

  • Okay i see it , thx!

  • This is amazing, I've sen loads using string to release the bands but this works so much better, choosing when u shoot. Nice vid 5/5

  • oh dear, oh dear

the word is actually spelt "peace" except it was what is called a play on words, I took it to "pieces". To normal people this is what's known as a joke (ok a pretty crap one).

and what gives you the right to tell me what I can and cant do? grow up

also I have got some airsoft guns

  • i agree with st0rmforce

  • u should consider becoming an engineer or somthin...

  • i meant 9000!

  • its over 900

  • Song from Streets of SimCity.

    Classic. I like you.

  • thamks for the site btw awesome vid

  • if you reverse the big trigger it wont jam i think

  • where did u get the chain? thanx

  • I had to get it on ebay.

I've also found a site called active-robots that sell them as well

  • can u mail me the instructions on how to make it?

  • how much r motors at Walmart or something??

  • It won't jam i u have it rotating the other way.

  • i get most of this, but how do you set off the second pin that pushes the first back into place? that's the only part I don't get...

  • i don't see how the gear is held back by the peg!

  • maybe add a connector piece with long side under your trigger, then it wont block

  • awesome you should make one with auto reload although it would be really hard

try make 10 shots per reload or even 20

  • Do you take yourself seriously? :D

  • very nice. great work. a few questions:

    a) how fast does it fire in terms of rpm?

    b) how many could you load onto each barrel and therefore fire before reloading?

    c) how long does it take to reload?

    d) does getting hit by the bands on bare skin actually hurt?

    thanks

  • a) I think I worked it out at 720 rmp

    b) I only managed 6 per barrel

    c) a minute or 2

    d) I can't remember. probably at fairly close range

  • hey if u can try placeing the trigger the other way and usen a battery box that has forwards and reverse options

  • thats not a chain gun thats a gatling gun.

  • Poor guy, about 35 and still playing with legos.

  • um he looks more like hes in high school or just out of high school / university

  • Someone once said something similar about Thomas Edison and Bill Gates (amongst other great minds).Think about THAT before making an another ignorant comment. Although, I must admit that I can't see any great potential in LEGO defense systems for our military in the near future, the concept and design required great amounts of time and inginuity. GJ

  • a couple of things:

    1. I was 21 when I made this

    2. I don't spend all my time playing with lego

    3. I'm studying engineering at university and we use lego for prototyping there

    4. this didn't actually take that long to make

    5. I don't care what you think, I still like lego

  • AWESOME! ive been trying to make one of those for ages and never got it right

  • nice minigun! I think its awesome!

  • lol, love the gun, love the sims soundtrack, such a good idea, when i had lego i was far to young to possibly think of using it for weapons

  • I'd love to make a Lego RC car with one of these mounted on top.

  • why not making 20 of them and put them together? There would be a real rubberband rampage! I'm not kidding bout' that 20 chainguns. And one question: What time did you spend building one chaingun like this?

  • I took about 1.5 hours

I could never make more than one because I only just have enough lego for one

  • That must have took long to build.

  • Lol at the sims music

  • how may rubberbands have this gun?

  • it probably hav at least 36

  • thanks a lot! im kinda using your design on my chaingun but i only have 3 barrels since i dont have enough pieces lolz well great design best ive seen in a looonnnggg time!

  • if urs has three barrels then you just made a painless

  • I WANT ONE OF THOSE!!!

    You played Deep, right?

  • You can stop the jamming by simply having the main trigger pointing the other way, so that its end is not pointing opposite the direction the barrel is spinning.

  • I WANT ONE!!!

  • if you dont wants it to jamm and if the problem is that the pressure goes to deep add someting that so it takes stop so the pressure dont get to low

  • woow thanx for teaching me the system :D is it okay if i do a chaingun? :/ please

  • feel free

  • plz check out my video responses and give my some revew plz ( keep in mine all i have is a web cam!

  • what did you use to make it spin that fast? all of the lego motors i have spin too slowly.

  • lol nice mini semi-auto gun mechs in each handle =P

  • not very stable the firing mechanism is it?...haha but nice try though....at least u were able to make a gun.... unlike some people -_-

  • Dam those legos minifigs got there ass kicked.

  • LOL rest in PIECES

  • manuelito1233, it is battery powered

gaboduar, ty. I don't think this really qualifies me for MIT though lol. especially seeing as I live in the UK

  • is it battery powered???

  • P.S. This is fucking awesome!!

  • Dude.. you should go to MIT..

  • now thats somebody that has to much time on there hands

  • I wish I still did.

Actually it didn't take too long to make. Once I had the idea in my head it only took a couple of hours spread over a few days

  • woow, cool

  • to prevent jamming have it turn the other way or put your main trigger backwards.

  • I've updated the video's description. please read

  • holy shit dude thats bad ass

hey whats better, lego guns that shoot lego bricks? or lego guns that shoot rubber bands? cuz i wanna make one

  • band guns are much easier to make, hold more shots before reloading and cause less collateral damage. block guns look better, are more accurate and cause more damage

  • i made a lego gun that shoots bricks about a 100 feet a gives welts. i ll post a video some day.

  • if you make the rotating thing that have rubberbands on it wont jame

  • please i need the instructions :-)

  • Wow man that is the way coolest thing made with LEGO's EVER! I love LEGO's myself and have built a catapult and a trebuchet out of LEGO's but did'nt have a video camera at the time. One nitpick though regarding nomenclature- you have built a GATLING gun. A CHAIN gun is a totally different animal. A chain gun only has ONE barrel whose bolt is driven back and forth by an electrically driven chain.

The 30mm GAU-8 on an A-10 is a GATLING gun, The 25mm Bushmaster gun on an Apache is a CHAIN gun.

  • OOPS! I have to correct myself! The Apache in fact carries the 30mm M230 chain gun. The M242 25mm bushmaster chain gun can be found on the Bradley. They are both single barrel chain guns.

  • correct

to somebody who knows no better (like me up until a few months ago) chain gun, Gatling gun and mini gun are all the same thing.

minigun is a particular gun by general electric

chaingun is just a chain driven gun

gatling gun has many rotating barrels

  • hey me and my friend are working on somthing like this but we were wondering befor we try to make the handle how many motors and what kind did you use and if you suggest anything better then the motors you used.

  • I used a standard lego motor. as long as it turns the barrels it should be ok

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • Thanks for all the tips! I am going to make ads for this fucking good tutroial.

Up to now i have just build lego-snipers and machine uns!!! But this is really awesome!!!

  • i would change the trigger position because it stops to jam

  • three things:

    1. I took this apart months ago

    2. I did change the position (down one notch)

    3. thanks all the same

  • god... I wouldn't have the attention span to make one of those, but it's so cool!!!

  • AHA so the big gear spins the smaller gears and fires?

  • no

the big gear spins the barrel assembly

the shots are independant of the spinning.

and I've explained this too many times

  • i think if you turned the big trigger the other way, it wont jam

  • I already answered this suggestion.

if it goes the other way it always jams because the leading edge is at 90degrees to the mini triggers. I fixed it by lowering it a bit so it hit the triggers pointing up more (its hard to explain). but anyway I fixed it a while ago, before I took it apart.

    thanks for the comment anyway.

  • it seems hard to explain but my imagination is good enough to see it... still wicked awesome!

  • how do you get it spinning so fast???please im desprite!!!

    wilz

  • um...with a motor.

just a standard lego motor, geared down for more torque

  • how do you make it automatic and where do u get the pieces

  • I got the pieces from about 10 technic sets I got when I was younger. If you're interested you can get a lot on ebay.

    the other question...

the barrels are spun by a motor at the front. each barrel is a small semi-auto gun with a trigger on the back. there's a master trigger that hits the mini-triggers as they spin past, so each gun fires at the same point

  • It wouldn't jam if the motor went in the other direction.

  • actually it does.

if you look at 1:30 I'm turning it the wrong way. it just hits against the steep side of the flappy thing

I stopped it from jamming by moving the barrels back and making the flappy trigger thing narrower and a bit higher.

  • I got my pieces from years of collecting. I think about 8 kits (not hardcore collector).

as for the gears (I take it you mean the gear that the bands go on) I was thinking of using bigger ones but I'd have to change everything to stop them catching on other parts.

also the gears that I used have room on the sides for the bands, bigger ones dont

  • i was removing an idiotic reply and accidentally removed the comment the last one was a reply to.

    sorry

It was something like where did I get enough lego and I should try bigger gears.

    sorry whoever you were

  • The idea behind this one was that the MKI was too heavy and the triggers too stiff.

I decided first to shrink it, so I made the barrels 3 studs wide instead of 6 then I needed a firing mechanism that would fit. I kept simplifying it until I was left with what I've got here.

The whole thing took a couple of hours, spread over about 2 weeks.

  • How do you make it.

  • I'm posting instructions

    read the description

    they're not finished yet though

I'm going to post more tonight, up to the barrel assembly. then its just the stock and trigger

  • update:

moved the pivot for the big trigger down one notch.

now it doesn't jam and doesn't judder as much

  • i like it, sick mechanism and better than the ones that use string

  • no it isn't you guys just can't make proper lego guns which uses the string mechanism!

  • i agree

I tried but it was rubbish

  • any comments on this one though?

  • well I guess, you guys are all to dumn!

  • the string type aren't the only way, you know.

I'll have you know that this one took a lot of experimenting to get right.

OK, maybe I am dumb to make an original mechanism instead of copying your perfection.

  • well never mind, both guns are good!

  • ITS ALIVE!
