as far as maryland goes Salisbury would be in the southern part of Maryland I think that is where southern builders comes from not that Maryland is a southern state.
Maryland was a slave state occupied by Union troops early in the Civil War. The Eastern Shore of Maryland and much of Southern Maryland on the Western Shore feature a population which traditionally speaks Tidewater aka Southern Lowland dialect. This is also true of Sussex County Delaware, and Delaware was also a slave state. It's hardly Wisconsin. The Maryland state song features reference to Maryland held hostage by the union, and of Lincoln as a vandal, scum, and tyrant.
@SuperGoldfish1999 Public schools at work! you sound like a fool.A generation of fools that do not know their nations own history.I was born and raised in MD.I know my state and it's history.Sure, millions of people from the north have moved in but it is still the south.I live about 20 miles from Salisbury and I do not see the northern or Wisconsin culture you are talking about.Even in the Washington suburbs there are historic plantation homes.I have never seen a plantation home in the north.
