Reading back on the comments and seeing the fo3 vs old fallout debate coming up, i have to say this: the main difference between the old and the new ones is the number of options the player has. In Fo2 , you could punish thieving children by LITERALLY punching a hole in their ribs, then have a gay wedding in the next town, only to sell your new wife/husband to slavers in the third. In Fo3 you have the option to be a nice guy or a prick, but do the same thing anyway.

IMHO this is the best game intro ever. Sets the mood, introduces the bad guys and gives you reason to really hate them. The minigun fire is truly shocking after the first, happy-go-lucky part of the film.

I like these people who say Fallout 1 and 2 were so much better than 3, and that 3 should have been like the originals. The first two WERE classics, but 3 popularized the series, brought it to a new audience, and made the traditional RPG style into a First Person/Third Person RPG style. F3 is good as a game, but has little in common with Fallout series. New Vegas is awesome, the story continues to Fallout 2 and that's what matters. So, FNV is real Fallout 3, and F3 is just a spin off, like Tactics.

As for new audience that disrespect F1 and F2, because they played F3 first and don't like isometric, turn-based gameplay in older games, they should leave Fallout alone and play Counter strike.

@rko218932 Indeed it does, one of the greatest inventions of the pre-War world. Only a handful of Vaults got equipped with GECK's though, so they're very hard to find. Vault City used theirs but I think in game you can get up to two more. Sort of overkill for Arroyo, but I got them anyway. :D
