Nice red. I had one of these as a pet when I was a kid, smart as heck. I lost count how many chicks she had through out her life . Hope you enjoy her as much as I did mine.
My chicken laid 10 eggs but she never went back to the nest i guess she she gave up on them can i still save them they have been on there own in the nest for about two weeks and they even got wet in the rain.. pls help
@cheatedeath86 Do you have a rooster? If not they won't be fertilized or hatch. If they've been in the hot sun then they might be cooked or if it's gotten really cold in the rain or in the morning they might not hatch either. You need to dry them and inspect them for cracks-hold a flashlight under them and dispose the cracked ones. They go to your farming supply store and find an incubator. You'll need to research the rest from there but also not all eggs hatch even if they are all healthy
Very allusive for Mother's Day this Sunday coming up. A video dedicated to all mothers anywhere. The Mother Hen and her baby chicks. The Hen is the Maternal Bird. Happy Mother's Day!
Soooo cute! People go on and on about how "unintelligent" chickens supposedly are, but these people have obviously never seen how attentive mother hens are to their little ones! :) great vid
btw I've a question . do all hens get broody ? I've heard that some special colors or breeds don't get broody ever during their life though they keep having eggs . eh ? is it right ?
looks like a Rhode Island Red kind of chicken. The babies look like buff orphingtangs but they coudl be leghorns.. too arly to tell. I think i see an austra laup (black one)
Sweet mama hen!

The hen teaches how to be a good mother. On that flower pot she shows all tenderness to take care of her loving chicks. Mother's Day is coming up.

Give them a bigger house, it's too cramped plus it's gonna smell for the chicks.

Chickens really are great creatures. Unfortunately, they're probably one of the most abused animals on the face of the planet.

so they were laid in the container...now without external forces how will they get out?

Are'nt broody hens the best!! After seeing how well they sit and rear their chicks i doubt i could ever use an incubator.
