  • musical genius

  • marco + rock n roll =SHIT(but i love marco shred playing)

  • Is it possible to download this song? I can just find live versions of it :\

  • this is some cover for a song. really really great.

  • this is good but he does the same beat in every video

  • What the fuck did I just experience? Was that the second coming of the flying Spaghetti Monster?

  • He is also does Al Di Meola?? This guy is genius.

  • watch?v=AuljhS7fTRg&feature=PlayList&p=380CCD73AC95BD4E&playnext=1&index=56

    this is one in sync

  • goddamn nigger ripping on both guitar and drums

  • hey i got a question for drummers....i alwasy find that sitting a bit lower in the whole set is easier to step the bass pedal...about like, the snare drum parallel to my thighs. and then i want to set the toms a lot closer in height to the snare, but then they can't go any lower cuz they are on the bass drums. and raising the chair and the snare makes stepping on the bass drum awkward. is that somthin i am supposed to get used to? or is there another way? thanks!

  • Do you offset your rack toms? If so, try spreading your kit out a little more than it is so you can lower the toms without have tom-to-bass contact.. if you don't offset them, try increasing their angle

  • okay thanks!

  • If you play heel-up, I'd suggest sitting a bit lower than your snare. If you play heel down, try sitting higher than your snare... Either way, make sure you don't feel cramped.

Try this too I came up with this and it helps SO MUCH: Put on a BLINDFOLD and play your kit. Get a friend to watch you play and make a point of where you hit the drums. Then, adjust the drums so you hit the centre of them all. It's where your brain thinks the drums are, so you'll have better playing.

  • It might sound a bit strange at first, your kit might be set up in a weird sort of way that you wouldn't have used before. But if you try playing now, it's where your brain expects them to be so you'll get more control out of your playing... Let me know how it goes if you decide to do it. Cheers.

  • you should buy a smaller kick...kiding...u have to get used to that. I mean u have to try to sit just a little higher or push your kick a few cm just until giving a little rotation to your toms they do not touch each other. A good idea too is to keep just one tom. but I think that sitting a little higher is the best way...

  • I had a similar dilema, ultimately I found sitting lower helped balance and footwork, and I didn't have a problem sitting 'behind' the kit rather than 'on top' of it. I sit with my legs parallel to the floor :) Set your kit up where it is comfortable and easy to play, not so it looks cool, or like your fav drummers.

  • NOTHING more annoying than out of synch drum videos!

  • is he playing bosphorus cymbals?

  • no meinl but now he plays zildjian

  • no fuzz no buzz

  • What is the song he is playing?

  • i think what people forget is even after all the drums, mics, effects, what matters the most is the room!!!! no one ever mentions it...if u set ur drumset up out side in ur yard its not the same as in the closet, and this room looks perfect for this drum set, i like the sound, but the bass drum sounds a little too industrial for me

  • Minneman's drums have that dry (someone said "nice") sound that the best technicians insist upon. Buddy Rich did it, and from what I've read in church he begat Marco.

Seriously, that dry sound is necessary with technical masters; their playing is too fast & complex to be discernible through any amount of echo or other aural dilution. Many professional drummers would be exposed as frauds were it not for the magic of reverb.

rjn93, thanks for the video. Anything by Minneman is gold in my view.

  • @66drummer Hey I completly agree - but I'm not sure any pro drummers are frauds, I mean guitar players use many effects but it's part of the sound. If you're drumming on any semi or pro level, u must still be v v good! But Marco is one in a million :D

  • @guitarlonextreme Actually it's realistically more like one in a billion!

  • @jmasterX haha TRUE!

  • In my opinion, the cymbals are too silent...

But awesome drumming! It fits to the song!

  • Can anyone tell me what the little splash is between his 2 crashes? It looks like a Byzance 6", but i can't see it for sure. A good shot is at 3:55.

  • Mmh, it´s defenitaly from the Byzance series, but I can´t see more details.

But I guess that you´re right.

  • man marco's awesome..... and i really love this song

  • y does he have a normal bass drum then a tiny one in front of it

  • its called a woofer

it makes your bass drum sound like it has amazing depth and warmth

  • is it just me or does his drumkit sound ABNORMALLY nice? im not a drummer im a guitarist, so i dont know much about drums, but i know for a fact i have never heard anyone else with a kit that sounds quite this perfect. its nice and clear, is easy to hear, yet doesnt take up the entire mix

  • you can get a drum kit to sound like this through a mix with many plug-in effects

i have a dw kit like his and i can get my set to sound somewhat like his with the right heads

he also has very expensive mics that will change the frequencies that the mics actually pick up so the drums will sound more full and clear

but all in all, yes this drumset sounds sick

i just wish i had his drum mics and plug-ins

  • i have a yamaha 9000 ga with sabian aa cymbals and the kit sounds perfect without any effects.

  • what is a yamaha 9000 ga

  • it's a very old set of yamaha, wich is very similar to the yamaha 9000 recording custom, mine is about 20 years old, i got it from my father and i cleaned it, put new lacquer on it and new heads. but they do not produce it anymore. they produced a 40th anniversary kit, in the style of the 9000 ga/ rc

  • HES SO GREAT,

    my fav drummer

hes the paul gilbert of drumming

  • That bass drum is HUGE.

  • he has a bass drum sub woofer connected to it. makes it deeper.

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhha that was good

  • aboslutely unbelievable, a huge fan

  • 0:12

  • lol "and now for something completly different"

  • MONTY PYTHON FTW

  • The video is a little bit faster than the audio!!! Apart from that, it's a great vid!!

    MARCO RULZ!!!

  • i agree with you killerkumag90.. this guy is genius! telblackwell1980 i think you should watch some of marco minnemann's videos so that you can tell the difference between cobus and marco...

  • ive heard cobus played drums, but he is nothing compared to marco, heck even mike terrana who is a monster drummer himself said that marco is way way crazy. and besides marco stands with thomas lang, johnny rabb, and more elite drummers, but cobus? no disrespect, but i believe he is not in there ranks. no offense dudes no offense.i like cobus too =)

  • excellent drumplayer ! ! If there are any one who wonder how you can become such a drumplayer, I would say, practice is the key to everything. And ofcourse a littlebit of talent might help.

  • lol drumplayer.....u mean drummer

  • hahahahahahaa..........as you can hear I laughed myself to death hahahahahahaa........Funny dude ! !

  • nearly as good as Cobus

  • ur joking rite marco minnemann is so much better than cobus they shudn't even be compared cobus is very good but marco minnemann is a icon

  • Thats my opinion :0)

  • ahhaha, you WAY off on that buddy. cobus is okay. marco is crazy. he has his own unique style. cobus isn't even that great.

  • your kidding me, i think cobus is class! marco is class aswell but they are class in their own ways. is that ok?

  • exactly lol

cobus is nuttin compared to marco minnemann tell black whipe that shit out your eyes and clean that shit out your ears

  • 札幌!!

  • these Meinl cymbals sound quite shitty. Glad he changed to Zildjian now, they do him justice.

  • I thought they sounded pretty decent - maybe it was just EQed well. The Zildjians do sound much better - I'm glad he went with the K series and not the A customs. There's something about the hand-hammered cymbals that sound so musical.

  • The Meinls sound great when you watch the DVD - Not quite so good on YouTube!! :)

  • awsome!

  • just amazing how he puts it all together

  • Yes! No Fuzz No Buzz! This is from a Paddy Kelly CD if I'm not mistaken. This whole DVD is incredible, one of my favourites!
