  • Is it TBI or did you convert back to carb?

  • the one dislike was jealous!

  • nice man i been lookn for a stroker for my 92

  • damn that things choppy

  • They're Patriot performance 2.02/1.60 aluminum heads

  • What heads are you running? Cast Iron Vortec or Aluminum Heads?

  • hey somebody stole your door handels .......nice truck sounds good

  • awesome chevy, love it. go GM!

  • sick truck sounds like popcorn lol

  • Thanks for the comments guys. Sorry about not having any new ones this yr of it in action. Just a busy yr.

  • amazing truck! just beautiful truck

  • nice truck man

  • sweet truck check mine out and post some comments tell me what u think

  • thats a nice locking truck and the sound it makes aint bad either!

  • Beautiful truck dude, looks awesome.

  • Gorgeous truck, nice work. Im doing a 383 set up in a '95 Yukon GT myself, running Tuned Port injection. I see you have Ravin mufflers. You wouldnt by chance know or remeber the model or part numbers of you mufflers would ya? Ive had plenty of flowmasters and enjoy their sound but im lookin for somthing new and yours has the right note.

  • 95 Yukon GT hey? That'll be great with a stroker in it. As u may have noticed in this vid I've a 97 Yukon GT parked in the background. I sold it last yr and miss it alot. I don't know the part # of these mufflers. I know that they're not the loudest or the quietest ones. They told me they were in between. I think there's only 3 different ones to choose from. I hope that helps u out.

  • what parts did u use to build the engine and how much did it cost

  • Comment removed

  • Cam specs please! Very nice Truck by the way!

  • intake/exhaust lift with 1.50 rocker arms are 488/510. Cam timing @ 0.050 = 234/244 degrees and 2500 - 6500 rpm range. I'm running 1.6 ratio rocker arms with a solid/flat tappet config. Advertised duration is 300/310 degrees. Hope that helps you out.

  • did you invest in some heads? but then again im guessing your truck already had vortec heads.

  • Absolutely did. The heads I'm running are Patriot Performance Alluminum heads. 2.05/1.60, 64 cc, springs to match cam along with stud girddles.

  • Anyone out there know of any ceramic headers that will fit patriot Al. SBC heads. They need to fit angle plug heads, this is my problem. I want quality, 3" collector, min. 1 5/8" primary tubes and preferably full length. Mid length would work also. These would be for my 88 GMC. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

  • thats bad ass. i just fixed up a 79 gmc, watch my video. tell me wat u think, it has posi 3:73 gears, 383 stroker 475 hp+ bad ass truck. i love the stroker and older model chevy/gmc

  • How do you make the truck sound like that? When it idles the engine purs I just got my first truck. Its an '89 Chevy 350 5.7V8. I think it is all stock. It has some decent sounding exhaust on it though. Just regular dual pipes. I want 2 fix it up so bad. I am sure my truck has potential. I don't know much about engines and doing things like that myself. I don't have any videos of my truck up yet but i will soon. Where should i start? Nice truck looks fast.

  • First off, it's a fair bit of cam which makes a loppy, rough sounding idle. Good flowing heads and exhaust all play there part. If ur serious about doing something with your truck start with the drivetrain and work your way up from there. Redo the trans. and put a posi in. Then you can think about a motor. Keep in mind your drivetrain should be built for whatever kind of motor you want to eventually put in. Thats what I did, and I'm very pleased. Perfect tire burnin' street truck.

  • if its stock it's got a low lift cam for low end power, get yourself a mid to high lift cam (.450 - .700 max) the .700 inch lift cam will give you high RPM power but it'll be insane power. And it'll make the engine sound like its exploding every time a cylinder goes off, also get aftermarket exhaust headers, get some hooker headers or hedman headers.. So much stuff you can do with motors its hard to explain it all lol

  • .700 lift will be way too much cam for a street-driven 350, unless you're racing it all the time.

You can build a good cruiser with a cam between .470-.500. Put a set of Vortec heads on and you can pick up a GM intake to use the stock EFI (TBI '87-'95) setup. It'll make a lot more power than the TBI heads, and will still be decent around town.

  • Like i said, .700 inch lift cam will give you a demonic high end torque and in my opinion, forget EFI. Mechanical all the way in my opinion but there are obviously others who may disagree.

  • .700 is stupid for the street. Only thing a cam that big is good for is racing. Not everybody races their car or truck.

  • Im not disagreeing with you, my only statement was that a .700 inch lift cam would produce insanely high end torque. I'm presenting him with options and explaining to him what does what because he doesn't know much (we talk through private messages) Okay?

  • alright man. lol whatever you say. im open to all opinions of anyone with a skilled knowledge of high performance automotive building. I'm just telling you what I know through very much personal experience, especially that of the smal block chevrolet.

  • I dont disagree with what you're saying. I was just telling him his options and teaching him what does what kinda thing.

  • k...

  • Draken- lift doesn't really determine much on the way an engine sounds as far as cam shaft specs. Lift is essentially the way the power band fluctuates due how far the valves open: i.e; .500 lift= .5 inch of valve lift. Characteristics such as @ .050 duration and lsa will determine how the engine "lopes". It's all about the cam timing my friend. And if you put a cam with .700 valve lift in a stock short block it wouldn't be pretty. Not enough clearance. Not to mention; the duration would be

  • I rebuilt a 355 in my friends 81 camaro about 3 times no, switching the camshaft the first time from a .200 inch lift to a .400 inch lift and i heard the difference when he started the car, he did too. Then we changed pistons in it to dish pistons so we could put a supercharger on it with low compression and advanced the cam. Then ran that for a while, heard what that sounded like, changed the cam from a .400 inch lift to a .560 inch lift and we heard a substantial difference from that.

  • not short block, small block. A Short block is when you have only block, and a rotating assembly, no manifold, carb or heads.

  • Yeah I know what a short block is bud. And if you dont have the proper fly cuts in your pistons, your valve clearance is VERY limited. It would be impossible to run a cam with that much valve lift on a stock short block. Trust me. If you cut the right valve reliefs into the pistons then yes. Perhaps you could. But why waste your money doing work on a stock short block that will not be up to the task of that a cam with ".700 lift" would be designed for. And as for your friends car.. I promise

  • The lift characteristics weren't the only things that changed when you switched camshaft profiles.

  • i should stop replying while high haha, i read it now i know what you're saying. If you fly cut the pistons flat and put a supercharger on it, run lower compression. lol

  • suree.... dude.

  • far too radical for a street engine. A good street engine usually produces around 9.5:1 compression give or take a couple tenths. With this static compression ratio; a good street cam would be something in the 220s-low 230s @ .050.

  • I started talking to him on another video about his truck and he messaged me asking about how to get alot of power out of his engine and different stuff he can do because he wants to learn more about it, so i was explaining shit to him. Thats why i said that in here because i was talking to him during that day about the high power you can get from a .700 inch lift cam. I didnt say it was practical.

  • i just jizzed my pants....god that sounds amazing...

  • i want to drop mine like urs, but mine is a longbed, im just wondering if it will look good. its black and got nice body parts and everything

  • I think it looks damn good long bed or short. I have a video of my longbed it has a 3/4 drop on it. would look really nice if i had a paint job and rims. although i wished i'd of gone with the 4/6 drop.

  • ok i want to buy those same tires and same size but...

it will work and look good on and 88 Blazer -10? its a 4x4 and since u know the height are difrent i guess... let me know! another question!

it doesnot matter if the rims its 15x 6 7 or 8 ?

all u need its a 15 tires thats all right?

  • for a 4 x 4 blazer, I'm not sure if u want to go to that same size. Might look kinda goofey unless it's lowered alot. As for the rim width. Not sure about that. Check with ur tire shop to see how wide a tire they'll put on ur size rim.

  • is that stock height?

  • that is one awesome sounding truck

  • What wheels do you have on that?

  • They're 15" Weld Racing - Tamahawk series. Unfortunately they don't make'm anymore.

    The tires r BFG Radial T/A's - 245/60R15 front and 275/60R15 rear.

  • that truck sounds mean , i wish i could get a lopppy idle with my 98

  • get a biger Crank if you want it to sound like that

  • ehh im selling it i can use a truck with a 9 inch lift any more and 36' its real, clean , if anyone reading this around illinois wants a lifted truck of that body style sned me a comment , its a extended cab z71 midnight blue

  • why are u going to sell it u might as well just keep it trust me i had to sell my silverado and it has 3 inch lift with 30 inch tires and i regret it every day even tho i drive a bmw now its just not the same

  • you mean cam with a higher duration (sp?)

  • Right now there is full lenght headers into 2 1/2" pipe with Raven mufflers. I hope to upgrade to some nice ceramic headers, 3" SS pipe with Flowmaster muffs. This stroker breathes "alot". At least twice as loud as the mildely cammed up 350 I had in there before.

  • My 2 cents.... i have had flowmasters on alot of vehicles, and none of them sound as good as your truck does now. It seems that flowmasters always sound "tinny", in my opinion anyway. You have a nice truck. Im jealous!

  • What kind of exhast is on that beast?

  • The computer, I rem'd from my truck as well as most of the wiring harness, Not an easy task, but was worthwhile in the end. Nice clean engine bay. U could leave the computer in ur's. All u need is an ingn. wire for ur coil and a 12V source (term. block) for ur alt. and starter. U'll have to tie into ur existing fuel line as well to feed the carb. The tranny; just have to buy a bolt on piece for the carb. I have the same trans. U'll also need a bolt on piece for the carb for the throttle.

  • what all do you have to do to put a carb on 1 like what do you do with the computer and the tranny i wana keep my 700r4

  • Thanks. It's nice when other people can appreciate all the work that goes into a project like this. I checked out ur vid's. Nice truck! I really like ur top and front engine assembly. Looks sweet. U'd save some $ by just boaring and cammin'. Then u don't have to piss around with a crank and clearances. Either combo would end up with some nice usable ponies. Good luck.

  • Dude that is sick. Check out my 1991 chevy 350 ss. I have a 1996 chevy 350 vortec block in my shop, but i cannot decide if i should make it into a 383 or just bore it and cam it out. Check out my burnout vid! Sick truck man! Love the sound!

  • The whole truck is painted the way you see it. No graphics! 100 % paint and clear coat.

  • Dany......

I would be intrested to know,as to whare did you get thi side body graphix........

    realy looks great....

  • hey man is it got tbi or a carb on it? i wana see wat she will do

  • It's got a 750 Holley double pumper vaccum secondaries carb. Butterfly valves have been changed from the factory ones. Spring '09 I'll have some more vid's for you. She's parked for the winter.

  • cool man ok you should know do the stock 350s in those trucks come with roller cams or flat tappet cams?

  • The stock 350 (5.7L) comes with a hydrolic cam. Solid lift, flat tappet cams are usually for race applications. Designed for more torque and hp, but valve lash needs to performed on these types of cams regularly.

  • they are setup for roller cams though cause i have a 1989 383 with a hydraulic roller cam designed for the oem roller cam blocks

  • kool truck i love it sounds awesome

  • No outside door handles on this truck, eh?

  • I'm gonna say it's not smog legal. When I purchased the engine they said nothing about it being so. There's plently of other engine builders that make a very similar stroker combination that's smog legal, but I'm pretty sure they're fuel injected all for roughly the same cost.

  • is this engine smog legal because i want to get that same one but i need to know if it will pass smog in california

  • that thing is a beast man.. i am building a truck just like it at the moment.. hope mine turns out this good.

  • Thanks. I should have a couple more this fall for you, to show you what thing is really made of. Hopefully some rollin' burnouts and maybe a 1/4 mile run.
