you two dont even understand the historic need or idea behind marriage, yet you desire it so badly, why? Marriage between a man and a woman is a stage in their life when each party publicly(usually) commit to one another for the purpose of procreation and and raising those children. Thats it, theres no big mystery. You can get "married" in name all you want but it doesnt mean the same as when a man and a woman do it. So there...congratulations, you're doing your part to destroy yourself.

religous wise, the bible was written by MAN (not god) in a time when procreation was absolutely essential.. and if god agreed with it, it was for that reason alone. however, population is nolonger an issue.

That's fine. But just because one sort of relationship was present at creation (well, in the story of creation... I'm a christian who believes in evolution personally) doesn't mean all others are taboo... it's logical that if in the story the present pairing is designed to populate the earth it won't be a heterosexual coupling. Most significantly, the genesis story is used to illustrate the majesty of creation, not to make a point about what proper sexual pairings are. :)

On the other hand I can see what the Christians fighting for, they are fighting for their rights as well that same sex marriage should not be equated as marriage because God instituted marriage between man and a woman.
