possums actually make an interesting pet. they really are sweet! not much will make them move quick.... just as with many wild animals, if you get them as babies, they dont bite. I used to bath mine with Herbal Essence shampoo to make them smell sweet. They hung out with the dogs and followed us around.... and stopped often to think possum thoughts..... kind of like it had to wait, till his thoughts could catch up this the body..... mine were not old, 3 of them fit in my shirt pocket.

My mom saved a baby opossum from drowning in my pool :) she got it breathing again and let me pet it and put it in a towel and let it go and it slept for a while then left. :)

It's my understanding that opossums sleep deeply in the daytime. Is this possibly why your opossum is so docile here and in the massage video?

No. Simple oral hygiene maintenance is easily performed by an animal's normal caregiver.

More complex procedures such as deep cleaning, root canals, extractions, and dental implants require a veterinary specialist.

I was finally able to get an opposum (frankly I was surprised there was such along waiting list). His name is Zack. Can I use people toothpaste on Zack? I ask because soon after I brought Zack home my wife started developing severe red rashes all over her back and face - and she has trouble breathing. I suspect it is the brand of toothpaste I picked up at the pet store. I think using people toothpaste would solve the problem - but I am afraid it might not be safe for Zack.
