@robin22391 He paints on canvas using oil paint. It looks like the paint was probably thinned with turpentine or something like it to make it easier to move around on the canvas.

My Father was "one of the best" commercial artists that ever lived (See My Channel). He had "flair". Impressionistic & Realism all rolled up in one! The Kennedy's favorite White House ARTIST! Fabulous painting. I visited his site and viewed most of his gallery and fell in love how he imitates the leaves of the trees. Moreover, I am currently doing an analysis on three of my favorite paintings he made. Later, I will be using the same technique to generate five canvas paintings as my Visual Arts major project. Leonide Afremov, you are one great artist :)
