Really good footage. I'm enjoying all you clips. Tell you grandpa I proud of him for still being able to get out there. My Dad is turning 80 this year on the 5th of Sept and he still gets out every year. Hats off to the guys over 65 that still find there way out to the bush.
Yes, that 400 yard shot was a good one...seen (and heard) that FIRST bullet hit the him in the chest.. good shot; He was NOT going anywhere after that first shot for sure...
Bagged my 1st bull moose Nov 09. Slightly smaller rack than your guy but about the same size body.
I was luckier'n you though, shot mine at about 220 yards in a canola field that still had swaths laying in it (guess what he was eating...lol) and we were able to drive right up to him to load.
You need a winch and several thousand feet of rope. That's what we carry for the 'unlucky' occasions. We could have pulled your bull out whole with my partner's F250 "Big Red" hunting truck's winch.
@CptnBlues Congrats on the bull!! Yea we usually carry a chain saw winch and it works great for moose but for some reason we didn't bring it. I guess we must have felt like doing it the hard way!
I enjoyed this hunt very much. A lot better then many shows I paid money to see. I drew one year here in Alberta & my wife another. We both went skunked. I find it hard to get time out anymore with work commitments 24/7.
Great video. That country looks a bit familiar. Where were you hunting? What was the dressed weight on that bull. (BIG one) I couldn't help but laugh when you whispered "no swearing" What?? Good job all round.
Hey... that's a freezer full right there!!! ;)
