  • Ah it was a prototype MASADA .... thought it was the ACR

  • let me ask I want a rifle but what is a good reason to say u need one?

So far I can only come up with i want it not need it,can u help me out?

  • dude. a masada is the airsoft weapon of this prototype or something like that. the gun your using is a bushmaster ACR

  • @hockeykid30b LOL The Masada is the concept rifle developed by Magpul in 2007 that was licensed to Bushmaster/Remington and is manufactured as the ACR. This is one of the seven original Masada prototypes.

  • @Magpul cool. you mustt really study weapons alot. lol :)

  • @hockeykid30b: Study weapons a lot? I hope they do. There's probably a reason it's the Magpul Masada.

  • @1brandon504 lol

  • @hockeykid30b Stick to your video games kid, playing COD and airsoft for hours a day doesn't make you a weapons expert, let alone teach you the proper nomenclature of a weapon system.

  • @1brandon504 actually airsoft gas rifles have most of the parts that function like a real weapon so it could be used to learn some stuff

  • WOW it even sounds beautiful

  • i'm sure this is on everyones mind-this will be my main weapon of choice when the zombie apocalypse happens, aside from a crowbar of course ;)

  • Gosh I know people are considered to be COD noobs to like this gun but even if COD didn't exist I think I'd still love this thing. XD

  • ive seen water tests but does anyone know if this gun can survive a sand test

  • damn all these newer ar weapons like the hk417, and rec7, now this masada are all pretty cool

  • damn.... I want that gun so badly

  • i looked at the bushmaster site it says 2700 for basic, nut i called yeasterday to my local gun store thay said thay will be selling them for 2300 for the folding stock one and 2000 for none foliding,

  • Looks to be a very promising weapon.

  • everyone keeps saying the us army is getting this weapon but do we even have enough money to keep this weapon in are military

  • It's hard to say, the retail price for the masada is around $1500.... that's signifigantly lower then the price of a SCAR... its almost half the price. Either way, I live in Canada, but I highly believe that this should replace the M4 and M16 and all variants

  • Will the Bushmaster ACR be available in 7.62 Nato/308?

  • That model is actually still owned by Magpul. It's called the Massoud.

  • no.

  • 5,56 x 45 mm, 6,8 x 43 mm or 7,62 x 39 mm

  • they have a prototype .308 version called the Massoud, its on youtube

  • Oh fo real. Yeah I'm hoping that the Bushmaster version will (one day) be 308.

  • It's got interchangeable barrels and bold heads, making it possible to chamber it in all kinds of calibers. 5.56, 6.8, 7.62x51mm("NATO"), 7.62x39mm(like the AK-47) and a few other types.

  • That's very good concept, i wish my country would use this instead of old but definitely not cheap Famas F1 which is not reputed for its reliability in sand environment..

  • Ah you live in France? Every time I go there I see soldiers wielding it.

  • magpul you guys need to make more demos about the acr and prove to the armys of the world that they need this weapon i know that when i join the army i want to be holding a ACR not a M4 and have it jam on me so make some videos about the ins and outs of the ACR and see if you can get it feild tested in iraq or some were else

  • second test firing is definately the AK :P

  • its like a m4/scar mix

  • The largest problem with the M4/M16 type rifles are the direct impingement, which is easily fixed with a short stroke gas piston assembly.

They will shoot better in any environment once that is done, and will stand up to torture test as great as any other SSGP weapon.

Such as the MASADA, the SCAR, the 416, and so on. The MASADA's largest advantages are the quick breakdown, and modular parts.

  • the HK416 is one of the best ones ever build

it can shoot everywhere, I used one (and the HK417) in Iraq and Afghanistan and still use it. I'm a Private Security Agent/ PMC

Cant wait to test the Masada out

  • how does one become a pmc

  • the Masada should replace the M4/M16. Colts biggest argument was that the US should use a US made weapon. they also say that the M4 is the best combat rifle in the world (not true) because it has the most combat experience of any weapon. that is a load of shit because none of the other weapons get a fair chance, and if they do the Colt lobbyists shut it down before it gets too far. Colt needs to fuck off and think of what is best for our soldiers and not their bank accounts.

  • Hey racist white guy - theres a video on youtube showing the the M4 a piece of shit beat out by the M468 - in a water test - the M4 blew up the M468 went full auto after being fully submerged.

  • Its too much related to cost. If anything it would be best to put the hk 416, for soldier familiarity and you wouldnt have to take so much more time to retrain your guys in a totally different weapon system. all hk rifles are really expensive though

  • No, the M468 isn't an entirely new gun. All you have to do is take existing M4's, and change the upper receivers and your done! Besides M468 is American-made, it would be a lot cheaper than shipping in HK416's. Personally I think the Bushmaster ACR or M6A2 should replace the M4. Soldiers would be familliar with either, they feel basically like the AR-15.

  • the m468 has a gas tube I dont like gass tubes

  • exactly, replace the uppers with the 6.8, If my research is correct the current issued mags can also still be used with a different follower. And we tell HK to fuck off with their over priced shit.

  • wuts better thiz on full auto or the barrett m468 on ful auto

  • if the 6.8 comes in an 18" barrel i am soo getting one.

  • Where did you be able to get that.

  • from the sound of it it would make me feel like i would be shooting a m16

  • Eotechs are everywhere nowadays!!!!!

    Very cool

  • That would settle it. Who would want any other kind of airsoft gun?

  • it is damn good to see people like all you guys on here. keep up the talk and god bless

  • From what I've heard, this whole slough of newer versions of the AR platform are due to a possible new gov't contract to replace the AR. I'm not sure if they'll upgrade, since the M16 has such a long and pretty successful history. I'd like to see a change, though. The 5.56mm rounds aren't as effective as what we need, and a more reliable system would be great.

  • One of the rounds that i had read and has a very bright future is the 6.5x39mm Grendel and it has better performance than the 5.56 and the 7.62x39 Russian, and it is better than the 6.8, i think the military should take a look to this round, is awesome.

  • It's highly unlikely we will see the 6.5 beat th e 6.8 SPC for government contract, plus it's too damn fat, makes for magazines that are too long. PLUS it would cost boucoup to drop 5.56 for ANY other Battle Rifle round, even though it's technically capable of replacing both .223 AND .308 to give us troopies a General Purpose Round, rather than Light and Medium. Would be nice to toss the M249 SAW and the M240B for a GP(General Purpose) machine gun that fits both rolls.

  • You are right, i didnt think of the size of the magazines issue, but to my understanding the 6.5 hasent desing in mind to replace the 7.62 NATO, just the 5.56 NATO, still the 7.62 has better long distance performancen thant the 6.5, i read that the 6.5 beyond the 1,000 meter mark is next to usesless.

  • Yeah, for anything over 400 meters I would rather have one of my Designated Marksmen hit it with an M14 or with a 240Bravo.

The Masada is looking at 5.56, 5.45, 6.8 remington, and the 7.62 Warsaw Pact(AK) capability. The only other platform that could hold a candle to that kind of versatility would have to be the SCAR. Both of the H&K entries couldn't, and counting on US Munitions to pick up a new round would be a waste of R&D money. Smart move on Magpul's and FN Herstal's part.

  • This rifles are meant for CQC, and nothing futher of 300 mts, the rounds in development like the 6.5 Grendel and the 6.8 are meant for that, high puching power and high fragmentation effect on personal, and a subsitude for the 5.56 NATO and the AK´s 7.62x39mm, the 6.5 Grandel havin the best of bouth with little compromise, thats why they should take a better looke at the 6.5, in my opinion.

  • AGREED

  • the 6.5 and 6.8 were made to transfer lots of stopping power with lots of velocity.

the 6.5 and 6.8 are the cross between 7.62 and 5.56

  • so this is replacing the M4/M16 rifle systems?

  • no it's not, the army is sticking with the M16 family for now. right now next up choices would probably be the FN SCAR or the HK 416 if they were forced to choose today

  • Magpul up to now has said they aren't competing for the upcoming rifle trials (YET), they consider themselves too small time and don't think they have to right connections with Washington right now to possibly win and replace our M4's. FN Herstal on the other hand...is already feilding the SCAR with SF folks in-country...and are already well placed with the fat cats in the Pentagon. But everyone knows the Stoner platform is on it's way out very soon since the XM8 got squashed.

  • really, wow i can't wait till i get hold of one. oh wait i live in a communist state. but thanx for the input hopefully i can get one.

  • of course the crime rate is lower, ll the law abiding citizens are allowed to keep assault rifles in their homes. who in their right mid would break into an house with a pissed off man holding an automatic weapon?

  • Great gun. Too bad the democratic pussies are banning anything with Assault Rifle in, or to do with a machine gun... What a shame...

  • no real man hates guns thats why they're called democrates.

  • Hey, enough with the labels you guys. I'm not rep. or dem., I'm AMERICAN, I stand for our constitution! I will defend against all enemies foreign AND domestic! If that means our politicians get out of line from upholding the constitution, then they should be delt with accordingly! There's a lot of corruption in this country so just never give up your guns! We'll prolly need 'em soon enough!

  • yeah we probably would need 'em soon. anyway it said in the second amendment "it shall notbe infringed". what if it is?

  • all we can do at this point is take it one day at a time, wait to see what happens tomorrow. When it is time to rebel, then we must rebel! I feel that the time for rebellion draws closer by the day, and anyone who does not see it that way, who would trade liberty for security, deserves neither!

  • what if now one does. what if it ends up like engalnd where they just took to the streets to protest. what will we do to protect ourselves.

  • There are 90 guns to every 100 Americans. That is enough guns to arm every man in this country and most women. I do not think that the government can disarm us so soon. To do something that effective, it would have to be at the state level. I think California would be a good example of that.

  • only time will tell the outcome of our future...just never give up your guns, never accept the microchip, and always do the right thing for yourself, your family, and the constitution...what else can be expected of a patriot?

  • one would only hope it wouldn't come down to that...

  • @DANTHEBLACKBARON Haven't you heard? They said guns kill! Because you know, guns have minds and feelings of their own. Fucking moron democrats.

  • @DANTHEBLACKBARON Liberals can't live with them, can easily live without them

  • @DANTHEBLACKBARON i wouldn't necessarily go as far to call them pussies, only too willing to put their own safety and lives in the hands of other people. that's not a pussy, that's just ignorant.

  • @DANTHEBLACKBARON .....still waiting on that ban lol

  • hope they make it available to the public. i want one

  • When does this gun come out on the market and how is it compared to the AR-15? Also, doesn't Switzerland have it where people keep their military assault rifles in their homes, but they also have a very low crime rate.

  • will there be a california compliant version?

  • hopefully by then the ban will lift.

  • california sucks. i'm restricted to 10 rounders

  • nice trailer

  • I have properties in California, Russia, Kazakhstan, Indiana, and Ohio the US gun law is a blessing for the US in my opinion. In Russia guns are so expensive and annoying for people to have guns as a hobby or protection only the ones that really use them for work buy them, like the Police and the Mafia, real Gangsters

  • zato v rossii mozhno kogo to zastrelit' esli nado

  • I really like the preliminaries of this weopon. Hope they can get it into production before Hillary takes office.

  • now this is wut are troops need :)

  • Our*

  • it's ok. just as good as any other piston AR-platform in the same caliber.

  • Can't decide between the TPD-USA Aug, SIG 556 or the Masada. Time will tell which I prefer.

  • Check out the forum dedicated to this platform at

    magpulmasada dot com

  • the thing has almost no recoil

  • Yes, 5.56 NATO and will be $1,400. Also will come in 7.62x39mm.

  • price?

  • it is a 5,56 Nato?

  • oh baby! oh baby! oh baby! I cant wait for mine in all black.... please let us know more! My only question... why did some expended cases go forward, then center and then rear of the weapon when they were fired.... I really want to know, but, I dont care as long as it is Magpul does their usual quality! And I know they will.

  • Bef. the extr. case clears the eject. port it gets a push from the next c. jumping up in the mag usually the same always. All cases get ejected into the same dir.

If the power of the compr. spring is higher than normal the case doesn't have so many time to make it's turn around the extractor bef. it gets it's push from the next c. resulting in a more forward directed eject. The emptier the mag the lower the push the more time has the resp. case to turn - changing eject. m. a. m. backw.

  • Keep up the good work fellas, I expect great things from what I seen so far.
