  • @13holywarriors Nope, it is in Karnataka. Glad you enjoyed the vid :-)

  • you got full bucket of indian rail

  • DOODH, WOW thanks a lot for the superb, eventful, and greats videos from India... I LOVES INDIA TRAIN... How to travel on one?

  • OMG........ How did the derailment occur????? Was any one injured?????

  • Not sure how it happened. Doesn't look like anyone was injured, Thank God!

  • I must admit that the 4 wheel tanker is THE most cute looking wagon in IR. Also, towards the end of the video, I wished u were on the other side to capture the ALCO belch out smoke.

  • I agree. I miss those 4 wheelers including the covered wagon and tanker.

  • truly eventful and wonderful video ! dis the charm of IR !

  • Thanks!

  • Did anyone notice the MUed EMD WDG locos? The leading loco had buffer at the cab end but no buffer towards the trailing loco end. Why is that?

  • I was surprised by that as well. Since these locos have CBC couplers, you really don't need side buffers.

  • Though CBC couplers do not require side buffers, yet the rolling stock on IR has mixed coupling arrangements (screw coupling + CBC). Most of the freight wagons are now equipped with CBC couplers, still some freight wagons (old 2-axil oil tankers and now rare Class C wagons) and majority of passenger coaches still have side buffers with screw coupling. If the leading loco had to pull passenger rake, they might have to put a long 4-axil caboose van, equipped with coupler and side buffers.

  • Since the WDG4's are used only for freight trains, the absence of side buffers should be ok - as long as the first wagon has CBC coupling.

  • I have seen WGs (steam locos) and WDGs and WAGs pulling passenger trains...hence I raised that question. Yeah...taking out those side buffers from one end has ensured that the WDG would pull a passenger train only when it is running long hood forward (or reverse) :-)

  • Nice! At 1:01, u said WDM-4s, I suppose u meant WDP-4s, rite?

  • True! However, these WDP4s remind me of the extinct WDM4s. Same whining sounds!

  • r u a Anglo-Indian (Eurasian) from Hubli ?

we've heaps of Anglo-Indians living here in Carseldine, many actually work for the Queensland Rail....3rd/4th generation railies...

  • No, I'm afraid. Just a thoroughbred Indian who happened to be passing via Hubli by train :-) I gather that you live in Australia. I came over to US about 24 years back and have been here ever since.

  • no worries, my apologies....i've a few mates Anglo Indians as it were....who speak in that distinct accent......so u r a Yank ?

    Cheers

  • Well, I am a Yankee..in the sense that I reside in the New England area.

  • well...yank is slang here for all things american...keep the trains chugging

i,m a big fan of indian railways...my old man grew up there , cheers

  • Vijay sir, as usual, ur videos are a treat. Loved those rail sounds. great video!

  • Thanks.
