  • I agree with BobDodoSawage, but also don't forget about the possible environmental impact this could have. Remember the BP oil spill? We need to get away from oil altogether and come up with an alternative form of energy. This is not ethical at all. It's propaganda and I'm against it.

  • nice Astroturfing

  • funny how we are trying sell our "ethical" oil to China, who itself is a dictatorship where human rights are not respected...

srlsy where the fuck are we going, people

  • Do really think we believe this crap about ethical oil??? People is not that stupid

  • that's an oxymoron, there is no such a thing as ethical oil.

  • How many barrels did Canada buy? Who gives 'North Americans' any right over another nations, the USA is fucked! And Canadians who believe this garbage are willing to shit in their own backyard to fund imperialist wars and supressive regimes. Freedom is NOT FREE, in north america it comes at he cost of many many other nations and the lives of their people, "ethical oil" is a greenwash for all kinds of fucked up!

  • @svjenifer good job that is totally true bro

  • Ezra Levant, author of "Ethical Oil: The Case for Canada's Oil Sands" is also the author of "Shakedown: How Our Government is Undermining Democracy in the Name of Human Rights" -- yet here is his club making a case for human rights!

The right seems to be making a hobby of discrediting itself at every turn lately!

  • @CrocStock Ezra Levant is, unfortunately, Canadian. Not that the US doesn't have any lying pieces of shit [newt].

  • If Ezra Levant (head of this org) is a champion of women's rights then I am an ostrich.

  • SHAME

  • SHAME

  • SHAME

  • I would like to know which oil companies are unethical...which oil companies in Saudi Arabia are unethical...Chevron, Shell? Give us names, bitch, or you are just lying through your teeth. If Chevron is unethical because it operates in Saudi Arabia then I will boycott here...they dont get a free ride because they operate on our soil.

  • Now they want to rebrand my oil as ETHICAL oil. Has anybody ever been to Alberta and saw the devestation from frackings and tar sands? This is apocalyptic...it looks like the end of the world. DO YOU KNOW WHY THIS ETHICAL AND UNETHICAL BUSINESS SUDDENLY APPEARED? It is because we Canadians are shocked at how bad things are here and how unethical we are so they need to invent an excuse why our oil should destroy the enviornment and that excuse is that Saudi Arabia is a dictarship....

  • ...okay, fine, they are a dictorship. Now, we want to destroy ecologically sensitive areas to bring in a pipe that stretches to the BC coast to transport oil onto ships that are destined to CHINA - an unethical country!!! Buhahahaha!!!

  • I guess they changed the meaning of 'ethical'.

  • Fact. Last year we bought over four hundred million barrels of oil from Saudi Arabia.

If we dig up all the bitumen (asphalt) from the Alberta TAR Sands, we will still buy over 400 hundred million barrels of oil from Saudia Arabia as Alberta Bitumen is going to China!

  • @vulcanfeline We buy our oil from OPEC when needed - the oil is part of a pool and does not have a MADE IN SAUDI ARABIA label on it.

  • Fact: Propaganda from the petro state. They're not even trying to be subtle about it 2012.

  • I am relieved to hear so many people in the US angry about the tar sands. Please stay angry!

  • I can't believe this ad. Whoever clicked the "like" button on this has a either a very twisted sense of humour, or is a downright i.d.i.o.t. I have absolutely no respect for any canadian supporting the oil sands, and will continue to support the liberals when Harper's reign of terror and oppression is over.

The conservative government is such a joke. What little respect I had for them completely vanished after I saw this video.

  • fuck ethical oil and more importantly fuck canada

  • @USARMz please don't say "fuck canada". most of us don't support the tar sands expansion and are trying hard to stop it. instead say "fuck stephen harper's government"

  • Whatever. The "Ethical Oil" org is represented in TV interviews by someone who makes Sarah Palin look like Einstein, and Bill O'Reilly look like the Queen of England.

    I'll never support them.

  • This video makes me physically ill. Everyone involved should be ashamed.

  • ethical oil rips the land apart and mixes chemical sludge, oil into the sand and earth thus making it a cuastic tundra of material that can kill an avarage non protected human being or a animal.

supporting and liking this is like supporting nuclear test on yello stone park

  • There can never be such a thing as "ethical oil"

  • How is it more ethical if you rape the land to extract and transport the oil?

  • Hahaha - great hoax. Perfect satire. Wait - it is not supposed to be satirical? Really? You cannot be serious. Can you? OMFG...

  • What's next, Canada, "Ethbestosos"?

  • Sometimes I wish all the remaining oil would just fucking leak all over the fucking place so there is none left.

  • They're backed by the oil industry and Oprah. Why do they need donations from viewers?

  • @pf611 they don't -- it's just part of the "astroturf" [fake grassroots] facade.

  • what a disgust..!

  • I made a response to this video - view it afterwards if you'd like.

  • @Hyuiolosa thanks, now let's put it on the Oprah network.

  • @MrGrubbykowalski Oprah charges way too much. I'm putting my ad on KTKB-LD. It's the CW affiliate in Guam.

  • How the .. what the .. what the hell were they thinking? !

  • the only ethical choice is to invest in energy conservation and sustainable alternatives-- whether or not to deprive our children of clean air and water and a livable climate is also an ethical choice we have to make: environmental justice is also about human rights.

  • 535 people are skeptical enough to see through the fog of lies.

  • Read a book like "Stupid to the Last Drop: How Alberta Is Bringing Environmental Armageddon to Canada (And Doesn't Seem to Care)" by William Marsden or a similar book which is critical of the Tar Sands oil industry and you'll see just how "ethical" it all is. Poisoned soil, polluted water, Natives on reserves suffering from poor health as a result. Exploitiation of the Tar Sands is neither ethical nor good for the ecosystem.

  • The ad tells us: Buying oil from Saudi Arabia supports the oppression of women.

The ad doesn't tell us: Buying 'ethical oil' extracted from sand needs so much energy, they have to build nuclear power plants.

Suprise: The oil is the problem!

    ...

Oh wait, we all know that, but can't help it -.-

  • yeah, replacing the opression of women with an ecological disaster...good idea. lets replace the fundamental christianity with ethical meth. lets get rid of the jews too, with ethical toxic gas...wait, i should better add a sarcasm marker here, because its the interwebs and the interwebs is serious business.

  • Thats disgusting...

  • People how like this also like "Ethical Weapons", "Ethical Waste Dump", "Ethical Torture" and "Ethical Corruption"

  • @MrWaehler dont forget the "Ethical Nuclear Power Plants" they need to get enough energy to get their "Ethical Oil" out of the sand... and in the end then there will be "Ethical Nuclear Waste".

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

"Ich kann nicht so viel fressen, wie ich kotzen möchte."

    rdgs, nelo

  • @666neloangelo666 what the hell are you talking about go back to the farm you amish.

  • @666neloangelo666 then give the "ethical nuclear waste" to the United states in case of a nuclear war (WWIII)

  • are they fucking serious

  • I donated 0.01 dollars for showing my disapproval! Ethical oil, guess you forgot to mention, that this "ethical oil" needs so much energy, that you need do build nuclear plants next to the mining site. Canada is big, but china is as well, and you see how they exploited their nature and live with the terrible consequenses.

  • ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME

  • I LOVE the donation bit, very clever detail.

  • Please tell me know one visited that site...... please...

  • Canada is so full of shit... amazing

  • According to the EIA's figures for US crude oil imports in 2010, a little under 10% was from Saudi Arabia and a little over 21% was from Canada. Just for some context.

  • @stewiie00 erh, how?

  • Fucking u Canada

  • Shame on tar sands corporations....

  • FUCK Canada where women earn less than men per hour! Fuck you CANUCKs. FUCK Canada where women still undergo domestic violence.

  • @shadowsburnme I suppose in the usa there is no domestic wiolence fuck you usa

  • Women are sex objects, designed by evolution. No point in arguing over the fact that all males love to fuck females (excluding gays).

  • The only credit I give to this woman is that she has likely found a way to make good money.....but the message is full of crap, because it doesn't come from any authentic place to really do anything significant about the issue that she presents. She is based in Calgary, and she clearly stated today on CBC that this about selling more Canadian oil.

  • @paulfornasier Don't blame the actors. "Ethical Oil" is the coinage of Ezra Levant, well known as a lying piece of shit. He once had to retract his accusations that George Soros was a Nazi collaborator as the result of a defamation lawsuit.

  • I heard the woman from this org today on CBC....and the basic message was....we want to sell more Canadian oil. She doesn't give a shit about women's rights in Saudi Arabia. What came across was.....those who focus on ethical issues should focus on numan rights in Saudi Arabia when it comes to oil....and get off their case about the ethics of extracting oil from the tar sands. Just another of the usual misleading marketing campaigns of big oil, disguised as something personal or grassroots.

  • This organization is just the left hand of the oil industry......a distraction from the climate change issue. When did the oil industry ever give a shit about the treatment of women in Saudi Arabia?? What a total farce!! If the govt really gave a shit about Saudi Arabia's treatment of their people, then they would find someone else to buy oil from, and we would be hearing about it in the media. When was the last time a North American govt spoke out about Saudi Arabia and human rights??? LOL

  • The same oil companies operate in both countries. What is "ethical" about that?

  • central reasons for the recent assault on the Middle East (and the subsequent interference in the Arab Spring).

  • ...but this was not an indication that the economic north had grown a conscience. The root was no different from any other conflict, despite the superficial "neocon" cosmetics applied to them. There is no ethical shift to be had here. Your oil won't get any cheaper, we won't we involved in fewer wars because of this, and the Saudis will not end their oppression because any particular country stops purchasing their oil. They will just sell the oil to someone else. The someone elses are one of...

  • in the Middle East and other oil-producing regions as long as we use oil. Those nations located on large concentrations of oil will continue to be plagued with totalitarian regimes and dictatorships as long as a comprador class can counted on to maintain 'order' for economic imperialists of globalization. Iraq can be viewed as an experiment by think tank commandos and liberal interventionists/neocon ideologues to 'flip' old totalitarian property of theirs for "democracy" (aka state capitalism)..

  • These are not national firms serving the common interest (and certainly not concerned at all with "ethics" or the suffrage of women in SA) of Canada, they are monolithic, tyrannical (in form) corporations with a voracious appetite for profit. The oil market is one big pool, and thus control of sources of crude will remain a central factor of all foreign policy considerations. This is why claims that drilling in Alaska would prevent "boondoggles" such as Iraq were flawed. We will be involved...

  • @horseytown ...the neighboring Yemeni government recently took credit for American attacks on targets within its own borders. Since WWII the US has sold Saudi Arabia about 80 BILLION dollars worth of arms/military support. This will NOT recede because of "ethical oil" because oil production is geared for profit, not national self-sufficiency. Canada is exports more oil than we import (so there is no shortage), but we still import about 45% of our oil. This will continue unabated...

  • This ad omits far too much for me to address in 500 characters or even multiple posts, so I count on all rational people to flood this page with information.

This ad reduces "our" relationship to a passive one in which we begrudgingly purchase oil from women-oppressing Saudis. "We" have done a lot more than "bankrolled" the state there, we are actively involved in perpetuating its security. Western firms train their special forces, we arm their military and we help put down rebellions....

  • no I'm sorry in retrospect this is the stupidest ad I have ever seen... Canada's the biggest pro-Israel, pro-USA country on the planet nowadays.. While both those places have there positives, NO ONE can look me in the eyes with a straight face and say everything those countries do is "ethical"... This ad basically just opens up the most idiotic can of worms ever.. If you start running ads like this, where the hell does it end??

  • Lol... pretty much the silliest ad I've ever seen. I don't really like the idea of drawing any parallels between women's rights and money... What if China Started rolling ads that said it refused to do business with non-red states b/c their "ethics" don't match up...

Canada's getting really weird, really fast. It's just so overthetop.. Everything the last 5 years has gotten so overthetop in canada... I miss my nice, reserved country. That is gone whether you want to admit it or not

  • This ad neglects the fact that Canada treats some populations in the oilsands regions as bad as saudis treat women, and we use slave labour from china and the phillipines and india to build our facilities because AMERICAN companies won't employ canadians.

We're happy to sell every drop we produce to america, but its still an environmental disaster, even if it is more ethical or neighbourly.

And remember, america isn't buying OIL from us, theyre buying BITUMEN.. they're stealing jobs from us.

  • Well, this makes me thoroughly disgusted to be a Canadian...

  • maby some of you should actually and go see the country and meet its real people, instead of judging an entire nation of 27 million people by a 45 second video...

  • fuck your ethical oil Canada !

  • Good add! Finally a stick in the eye of the politically correct with a dose of their own medicine, only factual instead! Awesome!

  • How can this be? Don't the liberals spend so much time telling us how peaceful and forward thinking our "friends" in the Middle East are? How could they ever allow such oppression?

  • OK, no to oil. So until they get all the bugs ironed out, we walk everywhere, no trips to Europe (or the Middle East), no boating, no subways, no buses, no cars, no railroads, no HEAT --unless we use wood, which also pollutes--no LIGHTS, except for candles, No HOT FOOD, no CELL PHONES, no COMPUTERS...no PANDORA...you get the drift.

  • Ethical oil? How is that ethical at all?! It's dirty fucking oil.

  • @Xilstealth Are you kidding? Fucking oil is best when from vegetables. If you've been using motor oil to grease your rod... that may explain your anger.

  • @Tryn2bkind yes but does everyone have a vehicle that can sustain oil to power it when it comes from vegetables? No, there not common and usually have to be made for the person. Sorry but nobody has $80,000 to throw around on a brand new vehicle. If I could buy electric I would but i cant because they make them so unaffordable

  • @Xilstealth OK... let me spell this out for the sarcastic impaired. I was talking about "fucking". You know... the word you so eloquently injected into your comment? Then again... maybe you were too... if by "vehicle" you meant vibrating dildo. In which case, I think you're shopping at the wrong stores. You're way too worked up about all this. Lighten up... take a break... enjoy life. It passes far to quickly to be so angry.

  • ETHICAL?!?!? Ravaged and plundered, ripped and bitten. Stop raping Canada.

  • oh pink-washing campaigns. bullshit

  • Hey America!

Canada has ethical oil, unlike those oppressive Saudi Arabians.

    America: YAY

Oh wait... our oil is too environmentally damaging for you?! Hmm, well we're just going to go to China to sell it if you don't buy it!

Wait doesn't China have one of the worst human rights records in the world... "Ethical Oil the Canadian Oil Sands :D"

  • too bad those sand niggers managed to keep this ad OFF the air for some reason

  • @sundryaffairs ....you Muzzle'Ems are TOO SENSITIVE for your own good.

  • How about we get off the Koch bros. and big oils tit? We have renewable energy, time to use it.

  • is this a joke lol?

  • how dare that these greedy unethical companies try to fool people as if they are some kind of retarded creatures who dosnt see the damage they are causing to the environment and lie in such despicable way and poor canadians living near their companies are having all kinds of disease because of them

  • saudi arabia is a puppet for western countries, it is amerika's bitch, i dont care if you boycott its oil, which their corrupt stupid king and princes are taking advantage of, but before criticizing that country look at the envirenmental problems that canadian oil is causing for people there,

  • im looking for ethical sex? STFU retard

  • where's the Ethical asbestos commercial?

  • Anyone who believes in this ethical oil propaganda, should try getting a little education.

  • Try to look up for a word called "RESPECT" cultures and then present your ideas in better way...

Samples like you won't change people's thoughts about discovering cultures such as Canadian, Saudi, Chinese ..etc.

    Your talk hurts a nation..

    P E A C E

  • If you like this video by "Ethical Oil" look at this un-skewed and realistic video about the impacts of Ethical Oil against Oil from Saudi Arabia!

It's called Ethical Oil vs Conflict Oil and was posted by EthicalOildotorg

  • I'm here because I saw Ezra Levant @ The Empire Club.

I think it was funny, informative, and (most importantly) provocative. Ultimately, watch it and make your own decisions.

Ezra's argument was very good--it made me think about the potential beneficial(?) social/humanitarian impacts of ethical oil and reminded me to research the environmental impacts of the Oil Sands. (But where to start looking?)

  • I need more info about the environmental impacts as I'm pretty familiar with economic embargos to enforce "humanitarian agendas" (what we Westerners see as basic human rights, and our attempts to enforce our values on the rest of the world).

I think there are a lot of people in the same boat--lacking the enviro facts. I need to weed through BOTH the environmentalist fear-mongering and corporate oil's pacifying assurances that "everything's great!" Perhaps someone has the "via media" handy?

  • @lucash1980 Youtube wouldn't let me post links. But there is a Fact sheet on the Siera' Clubs website and if you type in Tar Sands 14 leaks into google you can see letters from concerned civilians and information about both sides of the issue via pbs

  • If this is the work of Alberta Oil Sands industry, kudos to them for putting an ethical spin on the issue and distracting people from the flurry of negative environmental campaigns.

Human rights vs. environmental rights--ouch! Tough choice!

Trade an Alberta full of Toxic sludge and polluted water for women's rights and an end to dictatorships? C'mon now, you're a smart cookie. You know it's simply not black and white like that...Don't you? And yet the issue remains. Extract the oil or not?

  • @lucash1980 environmental justice is also about human rights-- the rights to clean air, clean water and a livable climate, not just for First Nations neighbors of the Tar Sands extraction/pollution who are dying from cancer, but for all of our children and grandchildren. Sustainable energy solutions and conservation are the only energy futures a rational society should invest in.

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Saudi Kings don't only oppress women.

They oppress the entire Arab world through their puppet strings, look at them sending troops to Bahrain to kill innocent protestors there. These Saudi "Royals" are nothing but scum, and they should be removed from power immediately.

Just another example of our hypocritical stance invading Libya, and not helping these people in our "allies" countries. Here is an excellent expose by AlJazeera.

    /watch?v=xaTKDMYOBOU

  • I thumbed down this video, oil is great, I need cheap items motherfuckers.

  • total crap

  • Just gimmeee maaaaa ffffuckiiin Oil!!!

  • Veridian Dynamics

  • Great video. Makes a valid point.

  • The main reason many environmental activists oppose the oil sands is because of the carbon dioxide released during the mining and processing, CO2 that, they claim, is causing dangerous climate change. Do away with that concern and much of resistance to oil sands expansion goes away.

Therefore, a fight for climate realism, an understanding that humankind's carbon dioxide emissions are very unlikely to be driving climate change, should be an important part of the fight for the oil sands.

  • UnEthicalOilCommercial!

Also Don't put ur nose in smothing u didn't know " for these made this add and who agree with them "

  • Dr. Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace, says the Oil Sands are the ethical choice. Who are you to argue with him?

  • Choose blood oil or choose ethical oil.

  • This video is unethical.

  • Ethical oil?! Who are you kidding?

"Huge quantities of natural gas are used to cook the bitumen into a synthetic oil. The energy required means that oil produced from tar sands produces at least five times as much greenhouse gases as conventional oil."

  • what is more dirtier is to use a an internal human right issue in marketing products!, tar sands are not "ethical", it is just "dirtier" as its marketing campaign.

  • what is more dirtier is to use a an internal human right issue in marketing products!

  • You're missing the point. The point is not which source is more ethical. The point is that you cannot label the tar sands ethical because they are not. The point is that as a country we should be moving, or even STARTING to move, towards greener energy sources. How are you so blind to that? This is corporate propaganda at its finest, and you're foolish for blindly drinking the koolaid.

  • Canadians freaked out when 1600 ducks died (dim sum on friday afternoon in Toronto) and it cost the oil company $3 million in damages. if there were cancer issues, the lawsuits would be flying. Use your common sense, of for you it may be uncommon sense. Oh, and Sudan murdered 300,000 people to clear out a place for its oil fields. No risk of down stream cancer there.

  • BEHEAD islam...just BEHEAD

  • @vivapuff87 the locals of the area have lived with this in their back yard for millenium in fact used to use the bitumen to repair their canoes and tipi's AKA teepees amongst other things. If you think this is something new you have been brainwashed like the rest of them... even Patric Moore (former founder of greenpeace) says its all a white wash for so called green activists to use as a "safe" platform. Oh and BTW the Saudis have NO environmental regulations

  • So lets support the Saudis instead of Canadians!! Where 90% of terrorists come from!!

  • That's not professional at all.

  • The less oil money going to the middle east, the more you're doing them a favour. They will eventually succumb to freedom of its people by us hitting them where it hurts most: their wallet.

  • I agree with this at every point, except the testimony thing. that's purely religious and had nothing to do with abusive laws the government have enforced

  • The thing is that activist only hate the tar sands because it is ok to protest in Canada. Our oil can make saudi arabia think twice before trying to boss the west. We may have up to 3 times more oil than they do and we don't even know it. There is also the realization of Canada becoming more rich with this resource. We also need to find ways to protect our ecosystem and first nations who may not want oil pipes on their land.

  • right like women in the west are treated any better..wait and ask all those battered women who get battered daily...or women getting raped..and dont report cause of issues, etc.despite of the BS propoganda that time and us state dept spews, has anyone asked women in saudi arabia how they feel..well most of them prefer staying home etc.very few want changes.changes are needed, but canada should just look at thmeselves first before attacking others, damn hypocrites

  • @os75 comparing Hilary Clinton and Angela Merkel to women who can't even drive a car doesn't look smart to me. I don't know what are you talking about, but in my old-fashioned middle-european country we treat women much better than men, and pregnant ones are treated just like queens. I believe you treat women the same way in Cambodia?

  • Comment removed

  • To people who think the oil sands are dirty, or people who support this campaign, I have seen the sources claiming that the oil sands are oh so horribly evil. I have also refuted the claims. To see the refutation and to get the facts on the oil sands, tinyurl(dot)com/3lafptx

  • well stop buying oil from saudi arabia,im sure china and india will pick up the tab...the truth is i wish saudi arabia will stop shipping its oil to the west so moranes like you guys get to enjoy walking to your jobs in your freezing winters...stupid hypocrites.

  • Great TV commercial.

  • Enviromentalists are fags.

  • WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ?!

IT'S NOT YOUR BUSINESS !! .. HOW COME THE POLITICS CONTROL THE AD ?

  • Yeah and your fuckin wind turbines, solar panels and Toyota Priuses going to make a huuge difference right? Dream on!

  • Let's see, tar sands are highly pollutive and do nothing to solve the rising oil prices(since they're only really economical when the cheaper sources of oil are exhausted)

On the other hand, it means getting oil from a place where at least we know people aren't oppressed simply because they don't have their reproductive organs on the outside.

    Grey Morality, tis a bitch!

  • @LightandDark11 Oil has gotten to the point where it is almost economically feasible to turn coal into oil. Since the prices aren't likely to come down any time soon, might as well turn on the tap and pump up the Canadian oil industry!

  • There is NO such thing as Ethical Oil, let alone Canada's filthyTAR SAND.

  • @swedanica There's NO such thing as ethical environmentalism!

  • ethical oil? we are not that stupid, you Conservatives are insane if you think you think this is good marketing and not an incredibly obvious way to deflect the issue that that OIL SANDS ARE HIGHLY POLLUTING AND IN NO WAY ETHICAL!

  • @blowfactory

Go back to driving your prius

  • Comment removed

  • one more thing my friends. Saudi sells most of its oil to the east. So please stop thinking like if you are the only customers. Beleive me, No saudi wants to support you by selling their oil to your countries while you have this negative policy againest Israel and its terrorism. Your arguments are weak and stupid and they work only in your countries whithin your naive audeinces.

  • Well, the idea of human rights and women in Saudi has been pictured wrongly, It has been pictured to server specific arguments. Anyway, my concern is HOW do you talk about human rights while Canada sent troops to support the US military who killed over a million Iragis?. I think u r just using the this term to sell oil which is a very pathetic way of marketing and UN-ETHICAL. The west can not talk about Human rights any more and u must know why.

  • @BelovedSaudi So the west cannot talk about the fact that you discriminate woman, because of wars in the middle east ? This is ridiculous. It's not the way free speech works.

Ah, I've forgotten that there is no such thing as free speech in your part of the world.

  • @RossettiX if you are a WHORE then it does not make any sense and it is unacceptable to criticize other girls for having many affairs. Get busy with your problems first and when you become clean then you can start talking about us. I hope you understand. And by the way, the freedom of speech is non of your fucking business

  • Not to mention nearly every company invested in the oil sands also has oil rigs stationed in conflict areas in the Middle East. Hm. How interesting. Real ethical companies, eh?

  • How ethical is the tar sands to the people living downstream with insane rates of cancer?

  • @vivapuff87 Care to provide proof of this ridiculous claim?

  • @jayhoffer An abundance of proof.

An Alberta Health Services report found a 30% increase in cancers in Ft. Chip compared with expected over the last 12 years. Leukemias and lymphomas were increased by 3-fold. Bile duct cancers were increased by 7-fold. Other cancers, such as soft tissue sarcomas, and lung cancers in women, were also elevated.

These cancers are KNOWN to be caused by petroleum products.

  • @vivapuff87 I said provide proof, not give me a bunch of talking points. Send me a link in a private message with proof that there is not only increased cancer in those areas, but that those areas are the only ones affected, and not ones that aren't downstream from the oil sands. If you can't, then you're nothing but a talking head.

  • @jayhoffer The study is proof in itself. I don't have data readily available on every community and their cancer rates in Canada. This is a directly affected community, downstream. The rate is 30% higher than expected. One form of cancer found, cholangiocarcinoma, usually strikes 1/10,000. Here, 3/1200 were affected. Another study has just been commissioned to further cement the facts for deniers like you. Too bad that our gov't is in denial too and it's taken this long.

  • @vivapuff87 Thank you for proving that you are in fact nothing but a talking head and a liar. If you can't provide any sources to back up your claims, then you obviously don't actually know what you're talking about. I'm not a denier, I just demand scientific evidence, something you completely lack. Until you can provide scientific evidence of your claims, you are no different than a man on a street corner screaming at people that they are going to Hell.

    Have fun, crazy man.

  • @jayhoffer OK buddy, whatever you say. I cited numbers from a specific Alberta government study. You are well aware that I can't include links in "replies". If that doesn't fill your hunger, that's a damn shame. Hopefully this country's leadership won't always rest in the hands of folks like you who deny scientific evidence in the name of economic gain.

  • @vivapuff87 I outright told you to send me the links in a private message. All you have to do is click on my username to do that. The fact that you haven't means you are lying or an idiot. I'm guessing the latter as well as the former.

  • @jayhoffer Quality guy, eh? Can't have a debate without resorting to name calling. Shows how strong your argument is. I started with the basic facts - let's walk you through this, since it seems to hard for you to wrap your hear around. Check your inbox.
