dunno why ppl talk about mainstream or not mainstream as if that would have anything to do with music. i dont give a shit what they play in the radio, i dont even listen to radio. i listen to whatever the fuck it is i like. and i damn sure like this ;P
@toontjee Actually, I believe this was in fact the first version of the lyrics he composed. According to the description of another video shot on the same night by blairbuckler, M&S wrote this song during the soundcheck of this gig. They most likely rearranged, and slightly changed, the lyrics later. This is the first time it was ever performed :)
@upptekid Why is it so bad that really good music is becoming popular? Wouldn't the world be a better place if bands like this were being played on "pop" radio stations and such? What is wrong with a world that honestly appreciates good, well done music?
@bobdylanguitar It looks like Marcus is using open tuning, witch which I am not familiar. But from my poor attempts at transcribing the song in regular tuning, the capo is on the third fret and the chord progression is something like Bm-G-D-A for the verses and "Spin me 'round" chorus, and then for the "I'll be home" chorus, it's something like A-G-D. But again, he's using open tuning and there are some walking bass noes and a couple of transitional chords. That's the best this beginner can do!
@bobdylanguitar Its in the key of F. The verse goes Dm, Bb, F, C, Dm, Bb, F. The chorus is Am, Bb, F then a walk up C, C#, to Dm, Bb, F. Marcus plays it in open D (DADF#AD) with a capo on 3rd fret. So effectively in open F, but you can play it just fine in open standard tuning. BTW try to work on figuring songs out yourself. I know it can be frustrating, but play along with it and try find what works. It will help you develop your skill alot faster than being told how to play things. Cheers.
They are the best band out there today, they sound like they're recording when they play thats how it should be. I saw them for the first time at the Grammy's and now they're all I Listen to! MUMFORD & SONS FOR LIFE!
wow were these the lyrics before they published the song, or did Marc mess up a little! haha still love it.
