@Apterygiformes this was mostly just old school keyframing, also used the option to animate visibility in some cases. There was really no need for shapekeys, beacause there was no morphing of the meshes. Plus some boolean modifiers(when the sidewall is painted) and build modifier for the 1st basement piece. :)
