Nice playing Julie. I've been working on this one for a while, it's one of those tunes I still can't play confidently yet. I'll have a go at your version. Great video.
Really really nice - made more encouraging by the unedited lead into the tune. I don't know if this tune is in anyway a derivation of Rabbie Burns's poem 'Cauld Frosty Morning' but the poem feels like it fits
Keep posting these natural videos they're excellent
hello mrs doggan this is me brandon cooney at school. u do a great job playing the banjo and i will see u monday at art class. again great job and have a nice day
I´m trying desperately to learn how to play this wonderful tune myself. What kind of tablature did you use? I`ve got one by Mike Iverson and one by from Dwight Diller. But neither of these sound right. The full and sparkling"bum ditty" sound is lacking. Can anyone help me? It would also help if was played real slow!
Great playing, as usual, Julie. The high contrast lighting and the 15fps shooting speed made following your hands a bit difficult, otherwise I'd have given six stars. What a treasury of clawhammer videos now on Youtube with you, Zepp, Jim Pankey, and dozens of others. A great teaching resource.
It's the light coming off your computer monitor. I had the same problem and just turned the monitor away when I recorded. Some of my videos you can actually read the screen in my glasses :)
It was really sunny out! I wanted to get the light the way it is...I guess it was the mixture of snow and sunshine. I though it was cool. Kind of campy...in the Edward Scissors hand sort of way!
This is one of my favorite old time tunes. Well done. I'm giving the guitar a rest and taking up the banjer. It's so much more exciting!

I love that light.
It looks cold and frosty, just perfect.
Awesome picking there, Julie.
And it looks like you're having a blast.
Which is the point, ain't it?
5 stars!
