@TheLaughGangHomies I believe so, you won't have the other options you would of using a dslr but I don't see why it wouldn't work for most of them. I would recommend you using a boom mic though.
Hi, I was wondering how the quality of still images compares on the S100 compared to the S95. I like the idea of a greater optical zoom, full hd video and being able to zoom while filming, but I can't find any comparisons of image quality between the S95 and S100. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated and help me to decide whether to buy the S100 or the cheaper S95. Many thanks, Alan
@singingal I took photos at night with both cameras I can say for night the s100 is slightly better but for the day shots they look the same. The s95 takes great night shots as well but you can see a slight difference. if you are just looking to take photos the s95 will be just fine, they both shoot in raw but the update for the s100 is not out yet. If price is your concern you won't be disappointed in getting the s95. I hope this helps Alan
@zcarenow depends on you, would you prefer a wider lens more zoom and 1080p the s95 is a great camera don't get me wrong I loved the s95 and used it a lot for my youtube videos this one is better for me, I don't have to worry about the focus it is amazing in low light at night and the zoom I can do without but it is still worth it to me
@zcarenow anytime, the only problem I have right now is the adobe not having the Adobe Camera Raw update with the s100 yet, all these photos and I have to upload jpegs!!! Should be out soon but still
@vongtito the best advice I can give you is look at all the specs you want for a camera and go from there... the reason I got the s100 is bc I wanted a great pocket camera for vlogging and taking photos when on the go and is great in low light...the sx40 is like a dslr its bigger gives you more options but your going to have to carry a bigger camera around if you dont have a point and shoot you use when on the go...I have a dslr I use when wanting to really do photography
@jnizzelest agree. i have a canon 60d and used it around Europe....my trip was for 3 weeks...after 3 days and constant walking around Paris, i got tired of carrying it around..it became too heavy...a small S100 is closest to a DSLR, but fits right in the pocket...that will allow me to walk around hands free with no weight....trust me guys, if u travel for long distances and walk alot...the weight of a camera will drag you down!
Very slow to zoom :/

I heard a noise while refocusing, but no noise while zooming.

@IFoundMyUsername there is a slight noise for both actually but when your outside you don't hear it in the video at least from what I have noticed

is the cost really worth it to get the s100 over the s95?

@noshoesreviews best buy, the ones that do have it only get two...only a few locations have it. I think all of them should get it on Monday
