  • Guys i think its a jaguar not leopard

  • go! mom go!

  • Eu posso ignorar este anuncio?não acredito!

  • huh so a hyena would eat a leopard?

    wooow

  • hyenas are ugly

  • 1 THING TO SAY ABOUT HYENAS TO ME:KILL THEM ALL

  • they should make an episode of this on cheetahs, cheetahs face lions to save cubs! one time a mother cheetah chased off a lioness(theres a video on youtube of it), then another faced a male lion. and then many other cheetahs i;ve seen have chased off baboons and hyenas

  • i love leopard and i hate coward hyena

  • I want to steal that baby leopard lol

  • Brazil brazil vivaaaa seus americanos de merda saoksoaksoakso

  • Where is the hyena?

  • i love leopards

  • leopards are very intelligents !

  • I was expecting more... but BORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIING!

  • where´s the dad?

  • @3ldiz leopards are extremely solitary animals unlike hyenas and lions. they will learn to hunt and then off by themselves, they only meet to procreate and then they are off again, like a father in harlem.

  • Love the Leopard's baby sitting technique..lol

  • Well I think hes saying your a kid, English. As far as this video, well its hardly leopard vs. hyena. There is not much of a confrontation here.

  • Leopard is the most beautyful animal on earth

  • @Frenchkisssss They are up there for sure! Tiger is up there too (my favourite animal!). I love leopards too, they are a close number 2 in my books! All animals are beautiful in my opinion!

  • ie love animal planete

  • Ridiculous. Pokémon battles are more realistic.

  • The hole wont protect growing baby for long. A week or two

  • wtf was tht supposed to be?

  • fucking gay

  • I dont see a fight!!!

  • wild dogs 90percent success rate

  • This is especially true.And @dadeskr

Wolves ALONE have only a 8% rate. But even with a pack they can still be low. It's just also the mater of seasons like mating season. Leaopards are much stronger the hyenas but are stealthier. But hyenas can also be a killing machine if in say a drought or loss of prey. This video is true. It is NOT animated, nothing. Please don't fight.

  • annimal planet.... surprisingly bullshit

  • Wers da fkin fight !?

  • hyenas and leopards are both dope

  • Leopards are amazing. Hyenas are ugly

  • @MCmopman LoL yeah. =P

  • where is the fucking hyena? where is the fucking fight??

  • so beatyful

  • this is in caps for a reason ANY IDIOT WHO WANTS TO COMPARE A HYENA TO THE PROUD LEOPARD IS A FUCKEN IDIOT, THERE IS SIMPLY NO COMPARISON, THE HYENA IS STUBBY POORLY BUILT AND UGLY, THE LEOPARD IS A MASTERPIECE OF ENGINEERING , A MASTER OF THE STALK AND HUNT AND NOBLE IN EVERY WAY THE HYENA ONLY WISHES IT COULD BE END OF STORY END OF DEBATE

  • @burrisweatherfield leopards suck....hyenas ruleeee!!

  • but I guess that not all leopards have a hole in a tree to stick inside their babys... normally the babys stay still in the same place and camuflate themselfs with the surrounding grasses until the mother comes back.

  • Awww! That is so cute!

  • mothers : since GOD could not deal with everyone at the same time, he made mothers.

choosing the right mother for your kids is hard. make the wise decision cause in canada men have no rights. they can kill the baby and you haven no rights, even if its a murder.

  • @mymsong lmfao

  • the love birds are so pretty~

  • any 1 know what the music at the begginning is or is from?

  • Israel is the hyena and worth than it

  • American commentary is so lame!

  • nw that is one smart leopard.

  • Well, like I say I've never actually seen a hyena or heard about hyenas who attempt to make a 'kill'. From what I've seen they simply outlast and bring down their prey and eat, the prey animal generally goes into numb shock.

Nah, not most solitary hunters it's mainly felines in general that are built for short bursts of speed, bears and eagles for example can spend quite a time attacking and killing their prey. Even killer whales spend hours attacking baby blue whales.

  • Yes, I find that a very interesting theory actually. Lions, and certain male cheetahs, are the only felines to hunt as a group and it does seem they use the same tactics as a solitary hunter would so it wouldn't be unreasonable to say they weren't always pride animals

Lions do seem to employ certain group tactics, like some jumps onto the back to slow the animal down, whilst the other bites the neck, but for the most part they kill the same way a single lion would

  • Yeah, if I had the time I might look into that more. Lions seem to be adapting single hunting techniques for group work whereas hyenas are adapting what was maybe always a group hunting technique.

  • Also as for percentage-wise it's notable to state the difference is not so great, hyenas have a greater hunting percentage on average in some areas it is as high as 7 in 10, and some areas 3 in 10 George B Schaller stated in some areas lions hunting success is a great as 8 in 10. It generally depends on how accomplished the pride or clan is and thus is unreliable to state percentage wise who is better. However by speculation the hyena seems to have the upper hand but they do hunt different prey

  • I was only going by what I had read, I have never seen any info that puts lions above 50%. I would say from what I have read that the hyena does have the upper hand, I would also say as before that they actually hunt very similar prey.

How refreshing it is to talk to someone who isn't a complete moron, you'd better not descend into that 'lion hater' nonsense.

For the record I like lions :) I just like hyenas a little bit more.

  • usually from what ive seen hyenas when they catch something they usually have an instinct to eat it right away rather than kill emphasis on all of the vid's of hyena's eating wildebeest warthogs etc alive. lions when they hunt usually do a throat bite you know kind of a signature in my theory i think an animal will just take what they can get hunting or scavenging that includes both lions or hyenas

  • Buffalo KING of savana...

  • lmfao at this moment I'm asking myself why am I even wasting my time arguing with a fuckin idiot who claims hyenas actually hunt better than lions and claims there were studies that prove it? ahaha omfg... please go get yourself killed, fuckin lion hater.

  • vaffanculo a questa pubblicità di merda

    mettetevela in culo cazzo

  • io parlo come mi pare e mi piace !!!

e se non ti va quello che scrivo, gira alla larga allora...

  • that baby leopard is sooo the cutest thing i've ever seen... <3

  • without those ads there would be no "fucking" video to watch at all, get it already, and then get over it, this is how life works, nothing is free.

  • @rockstar0007 Just because something is free and we have to watch the ads, doesn't mean we don't get annoyed by them.

  • @mymsong Then go back to watching television...oh wait, they use ads too. Several minutes of them.

  • @Vjuggalo you, lick my big 40 inch dick bitch!

  • @mymsong Refresh the page as soon as an ad starts playing and you'll be able to skip it.

  • @mymsong cool dude take it easy, just watch the vid only..

  • They should have done more on the hyena, those guys make some of natures most devoted mothers :)

  • and y is every one talking about lions and tigers

  • mikesegaline siberian tigers can weigh up to 800 pounds bengal tigers are probaly 600 pounds.

  • Now siberian tigers do weigh between 700-900 lbs but 900 lbs is extreme for a siberian tiger.

  • Ok to all who argue over tigers average weight, the bengal tiger averages 660 lbs while the biggest one ever was 850 lbs and in some parts of the world the bengal tiger is even said to rival the siberian tiger as the largest member of the cat family. The largest siberian tiger in the wild weighed 900 lbs and the largest tiger in captivity weighed 1025 however the cat was overweight because they don't get this big in the wild

  • stupid leopard, there could have been a big ass snake in that tree!

  • cool?

  • who hates hyenas m i know i do

  • Is the narrator Jodie Foster?

  • out of all the videos to be fighting on they chose the animal planet 1 lol

  • guyes guyes stop fiting ok it doesnt matter ok

wel u did mean tiger and u just cant take a typo ok just forget abiut th e fite ok

it dont mater ok now foget about it ok will u forget about it?

  • Comment removed

  • oh and fyi lions are among the most terrible pack hunters on the planet. mean that while hyenas get 4/20 hunts lions only get 1 out of 20

  • 220 npound hyene huh? wow didnt know hyena were bigger than a female lioness... lol you are so full of shit its not even funny.

  • actually hyena hunts are around 70 % successful and lions are around 30 % I believe, however they are better than wolves which are only around 10 %, funny thing is these are all group hunters.

  • @dadeskr Not sure if this is true but I get the feeling that hyenas are VERY persistent hunters. I do not recall wolves chasing something up a tree, into a den, etc, and then waiting around for several hours before it leaves. Persistence is key :)

  • It is true if you are going by averages, it depends really on how much they hunt/ scavenge/ group numbers, but generally a clan of hyenas has a 70-80% chance of catching something once they set off after it. Yes these animals are incredibly persistant, they are adapted to chase prey over long distances and they are smart enough to use team work to bring prey much larger then themselves down. They probably would wait for a hiding animal to re-emerge but i don't know of any records of this...

  • @dadeskr actually ur iq is 72 i see. u dumbass look what lions hunt and hiyena hunts.the size deifference and then look in which conditions wolfs hunt in canada in place very hard and they hunt big animals in one meter high snow.

now go fuck urself stupid asshole

  • Why are you so angry with me? Its quite amusing. I'm smart enough to be at one of the best unis in the country so you can say what ever you like about my IQ :) lions and hyenas hunt similar animals (wildebeest, zebra, large antelope etc) the only difference is lions regularly hunt buffalo and hyenas don't. Wolves are adapted to living in harsh conditions, but yes even they would have difficulty hunting in snow 1m deep which is why they probably don't usually.

  • Wolves are more likely to hunt where the snow is shallower or not there at all so that they can actually get up to speed (their prey is better than them at moving through deep snow). I'm willing to admit that wolves may hunt in harsher conditions than wild dogs, but they are adapted to those conditions and I seriously doubt wild dogs have a 80% greater success rate than wolves just because of a bit of snow. Don't get me wrong I love wolves, but they are far from the best hunters.

  • relax baby

  • You're telling me to relax? You're the one who had the outburst. You're the one who should 'relax baby'. I'm just talking about animals :)

  • @dadeskr relax baby=)

  • Is that all you can say? Ok I shall take your advice and I shall relax, I shall be chilled, oh yeah, maybe you should do the same.

    mmmhmmm :)

  • @dadeskr i did not know u r gay

  • what made you think I was gay? I honestly don't mind if you think that, I have absolutely nothing against gay people so calling me gay (whilst its actually inaccurate) wont insult me in the slightest. Are you gay?

  • @dadeskr no i am not gay, i am praud to be a real man. where r u from btw?

  • I am from the uk where are you from? Gay men are obviously false men then :P haha

  • @dadeskr gay people r not men they r just retards. i am in italy so what do u study?

  • Based on your opinion above I have absolutely no interest in continuing this conversation, you are most definately not my kind of person so continuing to talk with you will just be a waste of my time. You may reply to this if you wish but this is the last you shall 'hear' from me. Goodbye.

  • @dadeskr i will reply to this comment because i want to make it clear,i just odnt give a fuck what u think or do.i just dont give a fuck r u atheist or humanist coz u r nothing to me nor r u my blood.

  • @dadeskr ok baby i got it

  • You two like discussion don't you xD..

    Anyways awesome vid

  • @dadeskr lmfao kill yourself idiot. your estimates are a fuckin joke based on nothing but your own ignorance.

  • Well you demonstrate your ignorance rather well. The data I have given in previous responses came from looking at research done into hunting success of various predators, if you wish not to accept this that is up to you. I'm not going to waste my time with you as you are obviously a very silly child. Good bye.

  • no, it didn't come from any research. What your saying is pure speculation. PERIOD. hyenas are scavengers, they barely hunt. they actually aren't physically equipped to hunt. they will either get an opportunity to take down an injured animal or cub, or steal the prey of another predator. So stop saying they are successful in 70% of their hunts while lions are just 20%, as if hyenas were better hunters or anything hahaha. That just shows how full of shit you are and you should die, fuckin idiot.

  • I'm sorry it offends you so much but studies have been done that have concluded that hyenas are very accomplished hunters, they are very much equiped to hunt, they have incredible stamina and large hearts to enable this. They also have powerful jaws and forequarters which enable them to grab onto prey and wrestle it the the ground. They are intelligent and work together as a pack. Hyenas are proven to be better hunters than lions that is a fact and I am not going to dispute it.

  • Before I continue I will just clarify that I am talking about SPOTTED hyenas, the other two rely mainly on scavenging and are apparently pretty poor hunters, which might be where your misunderstanding stems from. As for spotted hyenas whether they scavenge or not depends on their environment, but in some they will kill about 90% of their own prey and it is recorded that lions steal more from hyenas than vice versa.

  • It seems most of the people I come across on youtube are either stupid or aggresive (you are evidently both), as such I have no interest in wasting my time continuing this conversation, if you want to do some research into hyena hunting behaviour go ahead (and don't say you have because if you had you wouldn't be making such moronic comments). Until you learn some facts this is all you will hear from me.

    Hyenas RULE bitches :D

  • Well you can't compare the two as hunters because they hunt different prey to begin with, percentage wise hyenas take down their prey more often than lions, however this only works when they hunt in groups in which they ware down their prey with bites from different directions which sometimes last hours, and most of the time are unable to excecute a killing bite. Thus a single hyena cannot employ this technique effectively and does not compare to a single lion in terms of hunting.

  • Actually there is a HUGE overlap of what lions and hyenas hunt, the only animals lions would hunt that hyenas dont are elephants and hippo, and that is rare even for a lion (I have also never heard of hyenas taking on full grown healthy buffalo). Like hyenas lions are more successful hunting in groups, I don't think this tactic shows weakness on their behalf, group hunting requires intelligence and cooperation both of which are very respectful skills.

  • It is true that hyenas are more reliant on each other to make the kill, though they can kill faster than lions. A lone hyena can make a kill on its own but its hard, for a lion it is much easier, but lions have to be able to hold onto the prey long enough to suffocate it which can take up to mins so its not like they always have it easy either.

Anyway I am comparing species not individuals. Their are great hunters and terrible hunters among all predators.

  • 30 mins

  • Well no, hyenas don't generally kill their prey which is partly why they have earned such a bad reputation, it takes lions less time to bring their prey down because they kill them, but by speculation hyenas bring down their prey more often but less effectively.

So it is unreliable to use statistics because like you say, you get good and bad hunters in different areas success rate varies so it is by speculation rather than factual that hyenas in groups are more successful.

  • Don't get your first part, do you mean hyenas don't kill before they start eating? That is how they kill. Its not unique to hyenas, most 'pack' animals kill in this way (even lions will eat prey alive). The need to kill before starting to eat is important for solitary hunters who can't risk the prey escaping. I would agree it is speculation but only up to a point, studies generally conclude that hyenas are the more successful hunters.

  • Yes that is what I meant, hyenas don't kill before they start eating because they are generally unable to, or seem to be unable to. I know, but then again you have to see that most predators in groups are similar to hyenas; wild dogs, wolves, etc. Lions sometimes eat prey alive, but it is more common for them to make the kill, that's how they got the title, 'the noble hunter'. And it's the same with cheetah coalitions.

  • Well I didn't mean that single lions have it easy, just easier than a single hyena. Lions have a more efficient hunting style they bring down the prey and kill it quickly, wheras hyenas are unable to kill in such an efficient manner so they have to wear down their prey but ironically enough it makes their hunting style more effective.

Well no, it wouldn't matter to me even if you did hate lions just so long as your points were valid is all I care about.

  • I would not say killing prey quickly is necessarily a more efficient way of hunting. For lions maybe, but hyenas have much more stamina than lions and so can cope with long chases. The two animals use different techniques, both adapted their species in order to make a kill. The actuall kill is generally far quicker when done by hyenas than done by lions, so with hyenas its long chase quick kill and with lions quick chase, slower kill. On nat docs lions seem to kill quickly but this often

  • Isn't the case.

The whole lion hater thing seems to matter to alot of people...

  • So in saying that I would have to disagree with you in saying quick chase slow kill, I'd say lions make a quick chase and a quick kill, and hyenas slow chase and slow kill, mainly because they don't attempt to kill just bring down their prey. However hyena clans, would be by speculation (but quite reliable speculation) generally more successful.

  • Well no not really, a lions diet mainly consists of cape buffalo wherever possible, Schaller states 62% in areas such as Tanzania, giraffe, occasionally hippo and elephant is somewhat more rare. All of which hyenas stay away from. Lions hunt impala too which hyenas are unable to catch for the most part, zebra and wildebeest are the only two common prey.

Well all animals hunt better in groups and weaker as individuals simple as that, hyenas are far less successful as individuals however.

  • As far as I am aware hyenas can hunt impala reasonably successfully, both species also hunt other 'buck' as well. Zebra seems to be a favourite prey of both species. What really needs to be done is a comparison of lion and hyena hunting the same prey species.

I can understand why lions would take buffalo when they can get it. Its a good meal. And yes lone hyenas are bad hunters, you really need more than one animal to tear something apart whereas you only need one to give a neck bite.

  • It makes me wonder if the animals evoluntionary history comes in here. Lions are highly unusual in that they are one of the only cats to hunt in groups, for a long time pre-lions were I geuss solitary hunters that for one reason or another came together to form prides (hence the would have the adaptations needed for solitary life style). Hyenas however have maybe evolved in groups, hence they are selected for methods that require group hunting skills not solitary hunting skills...

  • Hm stamina is debatable, lions certainly have the biggest heart and organ weight of all the felines, new lions who have just broken from their pride sometimes take hours to bring down their prey and kill it. But in saying that I would be inclined to agree lions are built more for short bursts of speed.

Yes a comparison of hunting the same species would be better.

Well, I guess some people are sensitive. There are after all plenty of 'warthog destroys and owns lion pride' videos in circulation.

  • Hyenas have a very large heart in relation to body size, I would be tempted to say that while lions have more stamina than a lot of cats and they may chase prey for hours that would be a rare occasion, than hyenas who regularly chase prey for hours. Again stamina is generally found in group hunters... intruiging.

Just thinking: In a group hunt there is far more emphasis on running down and tiring out the prey, the kill can happen once the animal is unable to run any further

  • Each animal in the group does not need to kill the prey, they are not all trying to catch it, they are trying to make it run. Once it can't run anymore it can be killed. Group hunters need to keep the prey running, and working as a team can help with this, they can prevent the prey veering off course, they can attack from different angles to drive it onwards and they can even have group members lying in wait to continue the hunt. The main thing this requires is stamina, being able to run

  • for longer than the target. This could be the reason stamina is a quality shared by group hunters like hyenas and wolves.

Now, solitary hunters can't use this tactic, they need to catch the prey as soon as possible, the longer they chase it for the more chance it has of escape and they have no one their to help drive it back on course, hence they need to catch their prey quicky which would explain why most solitary hunters are built for short quick chases.

  • Lions seem to have a combination of both tactics, maybe originally being single hunters relying on speed and ambush, now for some reason have adapted a group hunting technic in which stamina can be put to good use.

Of course this is merely speculation, but it would be interesting to see if lions as time goes on increase their stamina...

As for people being sensitive I think all animals are pretty much amazing in their own way and they all have their skills and their downfalls.

  • I wouldn't put it quite like that I'd say animals who fid it harder to catch their prey rely more on stamina. For example brown bears are not as fast as most of their prey bar salmon spend a long while stalking. Although saying that I've seen a single hyena quickly take down a wildebeest, but then again can't use group tactics. I meant lions who have just broken from their prides and have never taken the lead in a hunt, and are unsure how to kill will spend hours wrestling with their prey.

  • Claiming a hyena hunts better than a lion, shows your IQ is below average and your a lion hater.Probably one of those whose hobby is make up fake footage of lions being pwned. Your "studies" DO NOT exist. It's pure speculation. Hyenas do have powerful jaws but they aren't PHYSICALLY prepared to hunt. FACT. Get over your complex towards the King of the Beasts and get a life because anyone perfectly aware, can see your obviously just a ignorant mentally disabled fuck just by reading your comments.

  • Ok last thing. I don't care strange ideas you have, anyone who even knows the basics about lions and hyenas reading this 'discussion' will know that what I am saying is right. You evidently have not read or taken in what I said, it is probably above you anyway so I will just waste my time trying to convince you.

And finally I am NOT a lion hater, I actually quite like them, why on earth do you think I hate lions because I point out the hyenas are better hunters than them?

  • All animals have their talents and some are better than others (it does not for a moment mean that I hate the animals that are worse at something, what an immatue thing to conclude!

Anyway I like hyenas more than wild dogs and wild dogs are better hunters than hyenas (oh wait does that mean I have to hate hyenas now?)

  • Because only a stupid lion hater would claim there were studies (that NEVER ACTUALLY EXISTED) that say an animal that ISN'T EVEN considered a hunter, hunts better than the top predator of the wildest place in the world. It doesn't even make sense. I repeat, NO hyena will ever chase down a prey and kill it with a throat bite. They are PHYSICALLY INCAPABLE. They will either steal a meal, outnumber or kill a cub. NO HUNTING. To be honest I'm even ashamed of arguing such subject lmao. Kill yourself.

  • @dadeskr so? lions still kill more heyenas then heyenas kill them rofl

  • @dadeskr get your facts right

  • @dadeskr funny thing is lions hunt things 3x bigger than the things hyenas hunt.

and im sure wolves are a lot higher

  • @dadeskr how are wolves only a 10% success rate? I always see wolves bring down pray..

  • @hellow533 Of course you do. Nobody wants to see a wolf fail at hunting. It's boring.

  • @hellow533 Look at it this way: TV shows wouldn't be watched if we sat around and waited in real time for wolves to make a kill. Unless people actually followed a pack and studied it for weeks, they would never realize that even hunting dogs are better hunters than wolves.

  • @WTFleafmoon And by 10% success rate, they need to hunt 10 pray before they kill and eat one? At that rate, wolves would be extinct

  • @hellow533 Uh, no. When they do successfully kill prEy, it's a large enough animal that it feeds the whole pack, sometimes more than once. Wolves are adaptable and don't always need to hunt big animals to survive, but when they do, it's not very easy for them to kill.

  • @WTFleafmoon humans also track down the area the prey is in before releasing their dogs

  • @hellow533 Cause people don't tune in when the wolf misses a kill.

  • @hellow533 but they work in groups, so they divide the quote by the size of the pack =P

  • @hellow533 When do you ALWAYS see wolves bring down PREY? Where the hell do you live?!

  • @mattnew33 kids are not allowed!

  • @ailig0001 Jesus, I come on Youtube to aggravate people in order to invoke some sort of reaction....I don't want some acquiescent fool retorting with such a shit insult. DO BETTER. P.s. I hope your Yank, because you probably wouldn't understand what I just said without getting a dictionary. Lots of love, England.

  • @mattnew33 ok that`s true,my english isn`t very good because i only learned it in school and can`t know some words.. so wow you are the best, because you can speak your own language.. compares to your comments you posting GODFATHER

  • @ailig0001 Where the hell do you think I learnt English?! Down the local McDonalds? Please explain to me the meaning of "kids are not allowed", because as far as I'm concerned you need to rectify your insult repertoire.

  • @mattnew33 you speak english all the time thats what i try to explain you.. and "kids are not allowed" i write because of your comment in which world du you live.. and thats about the wolve thing....remember pls when you write something ... i think you won´t guess that omg

  • @ailig0001 OH MY GOD, That did NOT make sense. Fuck. I can't talk to you if I don't understand you.

  • @mattnew33 Nothing like seeing a kid from Austria get the best of a cocky, snob from England. You have a weak mind.

  • @brin3535 ok dont take this as an offense or anything, and im not trying to start an argument, but barley any english people are snobs

  • @hellow533, it´s becouse the media/documental shows that only.. but you dont know how mutch time they have been out there filming. but yes i dont think they have that low % success rate.

  • @hellow533 well that is true because they go after big prey but the pack eats almost a ton of meat each week

  • @hellow533 its possible coz they don't have real speed like Cheetah's & Lions, they're not good in ambush like Leopards & Tigers & they don't have the size of a Polar or Grizzly either. They probably feed just like the Hyena's, scavenging, or hunting in big numbers.

  • @hellow533 you only see the ones that are successful, because that is all they film.

  • @hellow533 unless you live in the wild where you see wolves everyday, what you see is filmed and not relevant, since they dont show you the 9 times they fail to bring down prey

  • @hellow533 stupid comment

  • @dadeskr then you have crocidiles that always win

  • umm actually the heaviest hyena was over 220 pounds. and the hyena has among the strongest jaws pressures in the animal kingdom-higher than a grizzly bear- and also the hyena has been proven to be among the most efficient hunters in the world-only African wild dogs are more efficient-and only a full grown male leopard would have a chance against a spotted hyena

  • Thank you, mikesgaline think that a female African leopard can beat a female spotted hyena(females are bigger and stronger in spotted hyena clans) and that the hyena has no chance what so ever.

  • dude this is a guy trying to say that hyena weigh 220 pounds..... and your thanking him? Dont align yourself with a guy who doesent have a clue what hes talking about, it makes u look foolish.

  • Its not an average weight for a spotted hyena, it is the heaviest ever recorded probably in captivity . There are tigers that have been 700 pounds(in captivity), their average weight is around 400 to 550 pounds. You spelled hyena wrong to. you said hyene. And lionesses weight on average 250 to 350 pounds maybe 400 pounds.

  • When you have to rely on pointing out typos, your losing an argument. Tigers average weight is not 400 to 550 pounds, its around 600 and they have been as big as 900 in captvity. 220 pounds is a small lioness and saying any hyena weighs that at all, outside of a rare anomoly is ridiculous. 140 pounds is large for a female spotted. 220 is massive, and around the size of a small lioness. Many of the lioness you see are under that weight because they have not reach full adulthood yet. Hence bigger

  • Dude, you are fucking retarded. Even the biggest tiger in the world the Amur tiger only has an average weight of around 500 pounds, and the reason they have been 900 pounds in captivity is because they are overfeed. And 220 pounds is the biggest spotted hyena ever recorded and lionesses have an average weight around 300 pounds. Obviously you know knowing about the big cats in the genus panthera, for example the leopard(Panthera Pardus). And wiki is not a reliable source.

  • tiger routinly grow to be 600 pounds easily. I didnt get my info from wiki. Like i said a small lioness. i know plenty about big cats, iv studied for many years. quoting nmaes tome doesent mean u know what ur talking about u can get it fromn the internet.

  • In the wild of Siberia, Amur tigers have an average weight of 500 pounds and don't weight 600 pounds maybe on rare occasions, but not on average. And studying from Wikipedia is not reliable dude.

  • your wrong on several accounts here. They hyena are judged by their ability to hunt as a group, not solo. So whatever hunting ability they do have, they recieve from doing so in a group. And hyenas are in no way shape or form the most effeicent hunters in the world, nor are they even close. Not sure where u pulled that garbage from. Yes bthey have the most powerful bite around, but thats means what exactly? Comapred to an animal with better reflexes, strength and 4 paws with razor sharp claws?

  • fucken hyena are beautyful they just don't give up . they keep coming for more and more event if they get there ass whoop they wont give up .

  • lol are u kidding me? You really think a lone hyena could take a leopard? I dont care how strong the bite of hyena is, their bodies are fragile, and slow. You have no ideah how powerful the body of any big cat is obviously. A leopard can carry a full zebra up a tree using only its neck. A leopard take down zebra and impala, all by themself with ease. Id like to see a scavanging lone hyena do that trick. It is a fact that the body of any cat is extreamly powerful, they are designed killers.

  • A leopard can take a hyena but a hyena can also take a leopard. The spotted hyena is not weak they have strong heavy bones and can run for miles with an enlarged heart. And another reason the leopard can kill a impala or a Thompson gazelle easier than a hyena is because hyenas are built like canines but not canines more closer to felines but not related to them either (closest relatives are the mongoose and the meerkat). And the leopard is the most successful big cat in the genus panthera.

  • They are indeed built like cannines, and felines always have the advantage in a feline verse canine fight. Felines have more powerful muscular structures due to elastic muscle, called fast twitch muscle. they also have much better weaponry than canines.

  • I know, so why are you telling me this information?
