About minimum wage, Ms Bachmann is right about getting rid of the minimum wage. I just hired another employee part-time and I'm paying her $9/hr. I wouldn't even think of paying someone less then that. I think there are plenty of employers that would do the same and then competition would kick in and employers would be competing for employees. Also, I have given this employee incentives to make more money, as well.

Have you thought of this - volunteers. Why are there volunteers? In many cases, the organization can't afford to employ people, and legally, because they are tax-exempt, there are more complications with hiring staff.

Elimination on minimum wage (plus a couple other regulations) would allow volunteers to EARN money for the work they do, and for the organizations to have no untoward obligations beyond that.

People volunteer because they feel like doing something for someone else without asking for money for it. Why in the hell would an organization suddenly pay volunteers if there was no min. wage when the whole point of volunteering is doing something not to just get paid.
