The voices of Vestal Goodman and Johnny Cook are so close that it's hard to tell them apart. I remember when Vestal had to be absent from the Goodmans due to illness and Johnny filled in for her. He did every song exactly like she did and the result was incredible.

@caswell1000 just imagine the heavenly choir - Johnny, James and the other Blackwoods, J.D., George Younce, my goodness i can't name them all - i recently spent 61 days in the hospital near death, and all i could console myself with was the thought of praising God for all eternity with the great gospel singers i love. Praise the Lord!!!

Johnny Cook was a notch above all other tenors, past, present, and probably future. He was greatly blessed by God with an annointed tenor voice. He is greately missed.

The Late Johnny Cook is simply blessed beyond measure with his unbelievable tenor ability!!His best work in my humble opinion is when he and Vestal Goodman sang together!! What a voice, what a talent, what a lovely name..the name of Jesus!!!
