  • This whole video is great (excellent choice of music btw, really suits!) but 2:52-3:02 is by far the most brilliant clip. The SR-71 - easily one of the top 3 aircraft ever built.

  • @BrucePartingtonPlans Yeah man, retro opra german/russian thing or something,I'm just a dumb ass but I love this vid.HooRah Go A.F. 2854thces/24thces.I can still see all the glory of what it was. We just maintained runways but as you know team effort is everything.Peace be with you.

  • LOL I thought that this was a song by the band SR-71. Just failed.

  • I like the intro music

  • This thing's a legend!....its wayyyy better than its main rival the mig 25

  • This plane was generations ahead of its time and retired way to early, nothing the Russians, chinese, koreans, or any other country that tried to shoot it down was able to come up with anything close to this master peace.

  • i am watchin this because my granddad use to be in one

  • There is a facebook page called Blackbirdpark sr seventy-one. It has the sr and yf series in a AFB area where you can see and touch them. There are photos.

  • ha! the xmen had a blackbird as well ahaha

  • slide rules well, rule

  • @BrightLight143 Alucard = Dracula

  • @2004XP Actually, the SR-71 did much more than take photos. For instance, it gathered electronic intelligence on Russian and Chinese radar installations simply by flying close to the border and recording the transmissions. And it also served as a launch platform for some drones (never really worked well). Also, they were used with the first look down/shoot down missiles. Would have been a devastating platform...

  • this is my favorit airplane yeah!!

  • @98TheBlack Because it wasn't a good plane. Cool yes, good not really. It could barely carry its own weight and was useless as a military aircraft. It's IS a VERY cool plane though, I agree with that.

  • 2:51, wow who's the lucky git who got to film that? :O

  • it actually depends if you have "hardliner" as an extra or not. and can i for once watch a youtube video with out reading comments which are boring and no one is interested in? :)

  • ok guys, read this shit before commenting:

1 - You have to kill 8 people in a row in Black Ops to get this plane (killstreak).

2 - this plane is fucking awesome, it can´t get retired, even though it already did.

3 - Like this, so everyone can see.

  • @98TheBlack COP - Cost of Operation, in this case it was the price of its custom fuel and the addition of satellite technology, both made this remarkable plane obsolete. The Concorde never recovered from the Air France crash, after refitting all Concorde jets with Kevlar fuel tank it became a negative for both Air France and British Airways to keep operationally active. In summary, sadly it all comes down to 1 thing... money. Both Marvelous pieces of Engineering.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COD HAS THIS OMG FUCKIN LITTLE KIDS ARE GONNA SAY 8 KILLSTREAK OMFG!

  • I would probably give my left nut up just to watch this plane take off from Palmdales Plant 42 one more time.Seriously.

  • @MrSlammeddown id give my right

  • @Jimbob8971 Ok you give up a right one and I'll give up a left one and lets see if we can't make this happen. LOL

  • @MrSlammeddown okay

  • iv gotten like 200 of those

  • MACH 7+ @ 120000"

  • EVER WONDER WHY THE SR71 CREW WEARS SPACESUITS? WELCOME TO THE FIRST SPACE SHUTTLE.

  • @captjim007 Wrong. Rockets already carried people some time before sr 71. And those are pressure suits. mig-25, u-2 plane crews has nearly the same. (Many present planes has some of that too). Astronauts are those who travel over 80 kilos (50 miles) attitude. Service ceiling of SR is 85k feets (26kilometers). Its only third needed for space plane. Escape velocity is not needed to archive except if you want to fly with turned of engines.

  • Niggas got to get in space suits to even get in this mug.. You no this a bad ass plane lol

  • hands down the best looking plane in the world it amaze me how this plane can look this good

  • im surprised that no one improved on the idea of the blackbird after 50 years......

  • @stampede122 They've improved upon the technology. They haven't so much improved on the price tag.

In particular I'd say materials science has probably come a ways in 50 years which would probably change the way they would design such a thing if there were a need.

  • Twenty years after its been retired it still takes your breath away watching it in videos. Without a doudt the baddest plane ever built.

  • @MrSlammeddown You are correct

  • A kill streak?

  • Respect to the aviators that were brave enough to fly these beautiful birds.

  • @tqure Deep Respect for all international aviators of all variants of Flight.

  • thaere's a few nice model shots of the sr-71 and variants here on the video.

  • my favorite plane.....the speed the technology the suits they had to wear....FUCKING SPACE SUITS XD....it's cameras can zoom in so close that it can make the grooves on a dime look like buildings.......this plane is truely the best plane ever made.....*salutes*

  • @cooldude1875 not quite.... it goes up to 80,000 Feet which is fucking high for an aircraft and takes images/footages from the face of the earth (half of the planet)

  • what a brute, its so ugly that it's staggeringly beautiful.

  • Fedor!!!..lol

  • They said that the plane generates so much heat that its is 3 inches longer in flight

  • @98TheBlack true

  • COD has there hands on this plane. watch out for all the little kids. saying * 7 killsteak! *

and watch this video jump to like 4m views...

  • @TosXMellow Strange how you know the amount of kills for it

  • @RedTeamSniper Stange you do to, i even got it wrong.

  • @TosXMellow 2 weeks later....

    u got that wrong

  • @stupidnamewaster i said i got it wrong? woah. read much?

  • @TosXMellow you said there will be a bunch of cod people saying "7 killstreak" but guess what I didnt see any of that shit so far so you got that wrong

  • @stupidnamewaster not yet, just watch.

  • @TosXMellow Oh so you knew it was a 7 killstreak?

  • @Adam781 i'm wrong, it's 8. good job for *TRYING* to insult me.

  • @TosXMellow Trying?

  • @Adam781 you said, oh so you knew it was 7 kills. you where wrong, it's 8 and you called me out on it. your trying to insult me.

  • @TosXMellow No, I don't think I was. Here have this piece of dog poop for the thinnest skin award.

  • @Adam781 Whats a Kill streak?

  • @davconelectric Whats a what?

  • @TosXMellow its 8 okay get it right

  • @metallicahealspeople It's actually 9 everyone is wrong lol.

  • @carby212 ohh i use hardline alot hhahaha

  • @TosXMellow 8 doctor faggot

  • 2:57

  • You should show this to shit russians flying proudly them tin cans Migs..lol...

  • @GRATZIANI2002 Who you really are, we learned in Vietnam and Korea. Learn the history. 'll Think before you comment.

  • @Dmitry59rus yaaa..be proud that any russian airshow shows the quality of Martin Baker 0-0 ejection seats, russian fighter use..in rest father stalin is still pushing u to next level of stupidity..lol...and Korea means 1 million cave soldiers against WC, soap and electricity, once again u prove how coward u are...btw, how's ur friend Gorbachev? ...

  • Comment removed

  • the dogs bollocks of planes

    dave court

  • Each of those compression suits cost $140,000 and each pilot was issued with two of them just incase one malfunctioned.

That was back in the late 1960s when $140,000 was worth considerably more than t is now.

  • cant wait to be the pilot in black ops !!! this plane or jet rocks... your like an astronaut

  • baddest recon jet on the face of this earth hands down

  • Best Bird in the skies .. EVER

  • @hobatu F-35A.

    No offense!

  • Aircraft engineering at its best, sad that they don't use it anymore, if im not mistaken they don't use it because of the cost right? which is mostly costly from it bleeding fuel. Someone get on a sealant that wont melt! lol

  • My God! What a beautiful piece of machinery!

  • Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne SJY61 in boing x-15, 2× Pratt & Whitney J58-1 T11D-20B de 144 kN in sr-71... Same engine constructor.

  • Check this...scramjet Boeing X-51. The concept proof! (6,400 km/h)

  • Research the A-12

  • it's amazing to think that this airplane is VERY slow compared to apollo spacecraft 39897 km/h

  • @thewebmaster93

You can't compare the two, so don't even try.

  • this plane reminds me of the x-men plane

  • the speed isnt right it is 4250 km/h

  • @RCthings1 4250 km/h the sr71?

  • es hermoso

  • i wish hollywood make movie about this aircraft

  • so cool

  • that's a yf-12 not an sr -71

  • @mrfrankincense yes ;)

  • Everything that you have said is easily available off the internet. "nuff said.

  • I saw one of these in real life. The engines are massive. You can stand in them, they are so big.

  • Kind of amazing what a group of talented engineers with silde rules and pencils can do. A Marine Major friend of mine was in the tower when an SR-71 filed a flight plan and launched from a base 3,600 miles away. It taxied into its' revetment on base 30 minutes later. That's Mach 6 folks.

  • @MrAUDU Sure, so you say that it's average traveling speed was Mach 6, yet somehow the official record that the Blackbird set is 2,193.2 mph. The SR-71 can't push such speed at all, not to mention averaging at this speed over 3600 miles. You'd need a scramjet engine for that and these are still in early prototype stages of development today, the engineers didn't even dream about them in early 70's.

  • @pisseddotcom I did not personally see the event. I merely reported it. He had no reason to lie to me. There are military machines in existence whose true performance is not ever revealed. Now if you can prove me wrong by revealing your top secret clearance I will accept your premise.

  • @MrAUDU I don't need anything like top secret information clearance. All you really need to know is that the SR-71 already works at the very edge of overheating at Mach 3+ speeds. Or maybe that the turbofan blades are very likely to melt should they work at hypersonic speed.

Anyways why would they bother with posting official records and making public demonstrations if they didn't want to reveal the SR-71's high-speed capabilities?

  • cant these get up to like 180,000 or more mph?

  • @XxXxXxXxXxXxXxish The fastest man made object ever created went 150,000mph. And that was a probe called the Helios 2 which orbited the sun.

The Sr-71 can reach speeds of mach 3.5 which is about 2,200mph. But it a lot of people believe the aircraft can go much faster. But the faster it goes the less safe it is for the pilot and the aircraft.

  • @ihavtugo oh well my friend said its the fastes plane

  • @XxXxXxXxXxXxXxish Your friend was right. It's the fastest jet engine aircraft in history. But it goes no where as fast as lets say the space shuttle re-entering the atmosphere. Or an orbiting probe.

  • @ihavtugo yeah because of gravity so well thanks

  • @ihavtugo 150,000mph fuckin hell. wish they could make human occupied spacecraft go that fast

  • I've heard that this leaks fuel when it's on the ground because it needs to compensate for massive expansion when it's at speed. It is the sexiest aircraft I've ever seen, no doubt about that.

  • Great Video. Amazing piece of technology. LostAviators likes this one!

  • thumbs up for cheap porn music

  • @VoalePatrick Yeah, because gregorian chant just puts people in the mood. NOT.

  • a fuckin astronaut?

  • 2 hours 53 minutes? if i remember right how long is regular flight from NY to London with 747 and with concord anybody know?

  • Can Any one Tell me the Name of this beutiful song in back ground of this clip :-)

  • @416995 porno clip

  • @416995 the title of the song: Enae Volare Mezzo by Era.

  • look what they had 50 years ago think what they have now nowonder theres so many ufo's getting around there 5th gen sr.71's

  • haha the MIG can suck my ass Fuck russia and their nukes and pryomanics

  • guys search A-12 it's a SR-71 with missiles ITS DA BEAST

  • 这个视频的背景音乐是什么

  • '60s tech!

  • titanium

  • Some people call this junk, but they forget this is still the FASTEST

  • money thrown to the trash, sorry...!!!

  • It's considered a scooter now a days. What we have now is beyond belief!!

  • @VIKING33NY WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT I know it's decomissioned but IT HAS THE WORLD SPEED RECORD unless you belive in that aurora shit

  • @IwAtChViDeOz44 You're right with all the technology since then, the SR71 still rules!!! Smart thinking!!!

  • @IwAtChViDeOz44 i belive it was 10th to the 4th power mps

  • If they could pull this off in 1976 , just imagine what they have now . The record may be unbrocken publicly , but secretly im sure is a diferent mater !

How lucky the pilots who flew that thing !

  • `uploader of this cool clip has`nt logged on for three years.where is he now

  • @mubarakdmc he prob forgot his password, haha

  • Aircraft is a larger category that encompasses airplanes, lighter-then-air, helo's, etc.

  • The difference between an aircraft and an airplane is that an airplane takes off and lands with its own power.

  • Who sings this song?

  • Era

  • damn cool plane!

  • Mig 25/ E266 High attitude 37 650 m - A. FIEDOTOW ZSRR 31.08.1977

  • Mig 25/ E266 - 3672 kmh

  • @viper775 The number you give are NOT normal sustained cruise/mission speeds. The MIG is made from regular aircraft aluminum and the engines are regular turbojet. Speeds this fast basically trash the aircraft and engines. The SR-71 can fly at mach 3.5 a long as it has fuel. I've also heard that the SR-71 has been tracked cruising at altitude of close to 37,000 m. again this is normal cruise, not a one shot burst.

  • X-15 uses rocket -> Different, get it? Different!

  • cool music

  • There's no faster planes classified today, it's not interesteing, the future is travelling outside the atmosphere

  • The most beautiful aircraft every made, no comparison.

  • @shaftster2001 fuckin right man...so sick

  • @shaftster2001 Well may be not, Concorde, Victor K2, Spitfire may be contenders, Sr 71 Mach three + two guys in space gear who piss in a bottle and a tanker to follow a soon as it gets off the ground. Concorde Mach 2+ 100 passsengers a toilet, champaine and caviar, and a stroll down to chat to the nice trolly dolly and a no tanker to follow.

  • Neil Armstrong X-15 fly 4 times the sound speed , but the SR-71 was the best !!!

  • The X-15 Mach 6.72 (4,520 mph / 7,274 km/h) and it is a rocket not really an airplane. The SR-71 still is the fastest production aircraft known today.

  • what is need to be a airaplane ????

  • the normal definiton is: Any of various winged vehicles capable of flight, generally heavier than air and driven by jet engines or propellers.

  • The X-15 has two wings and is more heavy than air thus it is a air plane, the differences is that the SR-71 was a operational airplane build in series, and fly with own propulsion from the ground. The X-15 is only an specific research air-plane to hi velocity and hi altitude.

  • A plane with a rocket is still a plane (not?)

  • yes its a plane if it uses fixed wings to achieve lift, even those achieving lift throug bodyshape are refered as planes. rocket has no lift generating surfaces and flies on balistic.X was a plane using rocket engines, but it was experimental prototype, i think records are set in production aircraft

  • if this beast was in the air in the 70's and nobody knew about it, what do you suppose is classified now in 2010? SCARY!!!

  • I agree with you!

  • It's interesting to speculate, but we have satellites now so maybe nothing similar?

  • Its not that something outclasses this beast.... its a reconn plane....satelites replaced it.

  • smart observation, I never thought of that. hmmm. But in terms of speed- I would want to "bomb" asia and be back by lunch- what do we have in 2010 that can do that?

  • someone tell me what that song is and who does it please.

  • Enae Volare Mezzo

    Eric Levi

  • thanks a lot, 5cifi

  • I've spoke to some of the original test pilots for these things years ago. They told me that they knew they were going faster than their speed indicators were telling them. They say they had a "feel" for the aircraft but what came out on the meters at the end of a test flight was the logged result. No questions asked or deliberated.

  • The record is 1,796 mi/hr or smthing

  • no it actually hit 2,250 mph (3,620kph) or Mach 3.4 almost three and a half times the speed of sound (i wonder if you talked you voice would be behind u XD) but i heard the fastest plane in the world flew at 4,500 mph over area 51 but you never know

  • thanks for the info dude il search it

  • What's this music?

  • @BleedTheBlind

    Era - Enae Volare Mezzo

  • Oh Era. I thought it would be something of that nature. It's quite fucking epic I must say. Cheers!

  • those things can go up to 3000 miles per hour no jokes or km im not sure but they sure do go hell fast

  • Such an amazing piece of technology, pity they don't make more inspiring airplanes these days.

  • well the cold war is over. How about stealth tech.??

  • surf for tr 3b

  • we just dont know about them

  • thats just badass

  • The most amazing aircraft ever made!

  • As I was telling, this thing was allready using the SCRAMJET ( Supersonic Ramjet ) system for testing. Mach 3,5 is official topspeed for " the public ". It was much more. Also the titanium can have much more heat, than is produced at Mach 3. Look at the numbers, you will know.

  • a choice between riding jessica simpson or the blackbird at mach 3? sorry jess.

  • Who would want to ride her in the first place?

  • me for one- and millions of other males

  • ...and girls for sure

  • give me the blackbird man!

  • @nicklenose01 I'd choose Jessica... but I may moan Blackbird

  • @SEGAjdb fuck jessica simson the blackbird sr-71 is the best a real mans job to fly it

  • @nicklenose01 at least with the blackbird i think i could last longer so id have to agree..

  • @nicklenose01 mach 4
