Old ass Xbox....1. I tried the q-tips in the fan trick without opening xbox.......waste of time 2. I got the pan heads and washers and and silver shit 3. Install...Just hand tighten the screws, tried the box still didn't work on first turn on....turned off....4. Overheated without the fan like the video says, mine was a total of 2 minutes after 2 red lights. Turned off, quickly unplugged everything and tightened screws 1/4 turn past hand tight whil still hot!! wasn't even hot don't worry!!
thanks for the video buddy but i got a question . I bought off a friend a broken xbox and i removed the clamps and installed the screws. When i turned it on it worked for a hour or 2. When i started gaming the video chip was going out. So when i pulled out the board i tighten it a little more and i let it heat up a bit. Now when i tried to restart it i get 3 rings and my fan accelerates really high for a few seconds then it stops completly also it doesnt show anything on my tv .
Dude its clear that u didn't know what u were doing .... Why bother. In the end u got it right but u babbiling on is embarrasing. U should make videos of u folding bed sheets or something
You actually don't have to really worry about electrocution, like really I have practically hugged the damned thing while it was plugged in and never once had a problem, so long as your not like licking or pouring water on it your fine
do you think its better to do this before it gets rrod becuse mine xbox360 is made in 2006 and i think it gonna get rrod soon soo maby its good to do this noww so it dosent get it at all?? what do you think?
on fixing my first RROD, i am happy to report success by overheating after x clamp fix on one try. All i did was tighten all heatsink screws (not too tight, just sufficient) then heat up the motherboard without the fans. It will take awhile, 10-15 minutes for the motherboard to overheat, you should be happy if it took longer to overheat because it means that your new thermal paste and heatsink placement is working well even without the ventilation! After that just leave it for 20 mins to cool
guys easy solution for this problem, these are only temp solutions or even fake time wasting solution just to get hits on youtube, take the console to a repair store guys or contact microsoft to resolve the issue,
Don't listen to this guy fellas, taking it to M$ is the worse thing you can do. Unless you have your warranty seal intact. They usually just give you a refurbished unit. I've already had mine sent off once and I'm not doing it again. I chose this fix because the 360 modding scene has found the fix that is most likely permanent.
Only listen to this guy if you are still in warranty. if you aren't then do the xclamp fix.
@xPreatorianx no offence to anyone i just beleive that if you dunno what your doin don't bother there is alot of ppl putting up fake vids on how to fix xbox so guys its up to you if you wanna try and do these fix steps on your xbox, your right xPreatrianx, try these things when the warrenty has expired, bakin step is also dangerous people cause 2 mins aint always gonna be that way on every xbox, some xbox cpu might only take a min to fry, do it properly ppl and get someone who knows what to do
I agree on all of that, and sorry if I came off as being a prick. The way you said it I thought you were trying to discredit his video. I actually used this video to get my 360 up and running. I used Team hybrid's advanced Xclamp kit plus this video to perform the fixes required. My 360 is now working. It just hates when my room gets above 80 degrees F. Then it gives me the finger till the room cools down. But I know the problem with that.
@xPreatorianx glad this vid worked for you, no you never came accross as a prick i should have worded it better than what i did, not discrediting the guys vid at all, just alot of ppl gettin xbox owners to strip there consoles and showing them how to damage it,, reason why i say get someone who knows what there doin is i had to return my ps3 6 times until i kicked off to sony and said to them if i don't get a new one my story will be on bbc watchdog, they sent me new one, with free goodies too
ooh I 100% agree with you. The only reason why I worked on my 360 myself is well 1) my warranty has been dead for over a year and 2) I actually know what I'm doing. But If I did not know what I was doing I'd either send it to a credible xbox 360 modder, or just foot the bill from M$. Also thank god my PS3 has not messed up. But It's still under warranty as well so that works out for me. But I barely play the thing so I doubt it will mess up.
@xPreatorianx i'm ok with workin with electronics but the consoles these days to me are dodgy lol, i have an xbox and love the thing and same as you i play it more than the ps3, still like my ps3 for my guitar hero games, i love them, but love xbox for me cod games and the achievements lol, don't know about ins and outs of consoles but do enjoy building pc, should check my vid out on my second pc build, wanna get sound activated cathodes, do you think i should? or leave build as it is?
Hey i got the 0110 error... Now as far as i can see its ram related... I have taken my 360 apart and someone has already used the xclamp kit....... Now will it still work if i clean it back up and use decent thermal paste???
This is a terrible video. It has some wrong information, order is out of whack, steps are unclear, the presenter implies ignorance several times. I am glad it helps some people, but there are better videos. I don't mean to offend you gamelinx. I appreciate the time you took to video and post this.
Green and yellow indicate that your video cable is not properly seated. Check to see if you have a short in the wire or not. This should fix the problem you're having.
@gamelinx Wtf that has nothing to do with it it means he has the xclamp to tight because the heatsink is touching the memory chips he just need to loosen it i supose he wrote that 6 months ago so hes propebly fixed it
thank you so much man it worked! But for some reason after I had the two red lites and it was baking i let it cool for 10 and it was fine i didnt have to run it a third time like you. Do you know why that is gamelinx?
Ok well thanks for the response. good look with your Xbox! you never know when the damn things will break. I'm fixing some of my friends 360's right now, I've yet to encounter a stubborn Xbox.
hahahahhahah my hand on mine now lmao

you can't get electrocuted on 12v dc
TheChickenrun3 5 months ago
Good video, but you can't shock yourself because the power supply only puts out about 12v dc
SYNgatesMASTER 9 months ago
@SYNgatesMASTER actually 1 volt can kill you, its not the voltage that is dangerous its the amps(current).
just rubbing a balloon on your head will generate tens of thousands of volts! :)

With my xbox 360 I am not sure if it is the system itself but it could be the power source.

only use this overheat method if you are sure its a cpu/gpu error e18, always check error code first before doing anything silly.
