  • The guy that produced her music (Robert Lange) also worked with Aerosmith & many other bands.

  • The progression and tempo are both rooted in classic southern Boogie Woogie Blues. A lot of people have used the structure in songs. My vote goes to Aerosmith since they are a blues-based band, though Shania is awfully easy to look at. I do think that it would be whole new twist if K.D. Lang sang "Man I Feel Like a Woman."

  • It is still pale argument because surely that riff is in numerous songs, and Aerosmith didn't invented it and has no right on patent.............and secondly : Shania made her song huge more famous than Aerosmith did with theirs.

Shania's song make more delight to hear it, and her song will remain in future, while Aerosmith's song will be fall in oblivion.

  • Thank you, I thought I was the only one. Uncle Salty is such a good song, but if you haven't worn out your copy of 'Toys in the Attic', (like me) you may not hear it.

  • Aerosmith wins by a landslide maybe 3 landslides.

  • Wow great find. :)

  • everyone knows this is a rip of Uncle Salty

  • If it was inspired by Aerosmith, it was Mutt Lange not Shania. He co wrote and produced the album.

  • well duh. I knew this a while ago. If Aerosmith aint complaining, why should you?

  • Come on Eileen........... or should I say Muttie

  • people listen. It's not COPYING if she asked for rights (or bought) to use the riff and change the key to use in her song. if she used it without permission you know aerosmith (or their record company) would have sued her. come on it's scommon sense. i think both songs are great! so stop bickering over who's copying it's really stupid

  • LOL, she copied the melody from Aerosmith and the video from Robert Palmer. At least she made an original text... I think.

  • AH AHA HAHA!? why would anyone rip off a CRAPPY Amerosmith song and make it a hit!? coincidence, obviously. It sounds like her song slowed down to the death.

  • @mattiboi To each is own. That song you think is CRAPPY I love. And people rip off songs all the time. Mostly because they can't write there own music. Look at Taylor Swift I don't like her music, But who am I to say what someone else likes or thinks is crappy.

  • @mattiboi crappy? what can you know? listen to real music

  • @sueellen360 *whispers* Areosmith is awful.

  • I've seen that similarity since "Man..." first came out! Well, I mean, maybe not RIGHT then, considering I was 4, but you know what I mean...

  • Let's hear Shania sing, "Back In The Saddle!"

  • I'd rather look at her, and listen to them!

  • Aerosmith is by far better.

  • hmmm well shania sucks anyway so she had ta steal a good band ta try and sound good she still sucked anyway

  • Aerosmith yay!!

  • Aerosmith sounds much better

  • Actually they do. They're in a different key, but the relative chord changes are the same, and the vocal melody and vocal/lyrical phrasing are essentially the same. However there would be no rock 'n roll if it wasn't for borrowing/stealing from other songs.

  • ...they have kind of a similar beat. Not much else in common.
