@aaa567ify Hmmm- no, sometimes the slaps are on fretted strings, but in general, the slaps are the lower notes and the plucks are the higher ones. Thanks for asking :D

Thanks for the lesson. By the way I think your extremely funny. You need to give yourself more credit. Your not dumb. A lot of people don't even no how to name the notes on a bass let alone play the bass. Your giving a lesson as well. BTW , the tempo your playing when teaching is a good pace. This is an honest question, is there a proper technique for slapping I heard some say always slap going down and other say always slap going back up?

@263Tanaka People "like" to call it proper, but really it is just a "different" way to slap. Vic Wooten uses that method, Flea uses the same as mine. To each his own- whatever is comfortable for you and gives you the BEST SOUND- is what you should do.

many people seem to confuse the two, and imho thats the biggest technique problem in bass guitarists, that they are applying upright technique to a bass guitar (btw i am more a bass guitarist, i started playing double bass 3 years ago) thats why i think tapping and shredding is great
