Actually, y'know... It's weird.

Your choice of words somehow manages to both betray the intent of the lines, and be inaccurate at the same time; as a bonus, it makes Lisa look like she has no grasp on subject-verb agreement. Apparently he's the leader of the Underpants Gang. I won't even go into how colloquial the word "underpants" is to describe underwear.

I hope the rest of the dialogue isn't as inside as this.

He's the leader of a gang of people who he put to shame by pulling down their pants, leaving them standing there in their underwear. In the context of the game, this makes sense. This is the "spirit" of the line, and the jab that Lisa is trying to convey... She is saying that he is only respected because of something stupid, so he deserves a stupid name.

This has nothing to do with "trivia" or "verbs". It's a name. It's a stupid name, yes... But changing it would spoil the meaning.

番長does not mean captain, it means leader of a group of juvenile delinquents. also, パンツdoes not mean pants, it means underwear. I don't have a problem with it, it just seems a little unnatural in English, and Captain Underpants (as given by the Oracle of Maiya), might be less accurate, but feels more natural. Though whatever, the translation's already done, and it's great regardless. Good job!
