Tongues in Acts 2 in context means different languages. (Read Acts 2:6)The apostles were enabled to communicate with men from different nations in their own native tongues or language.
This is completely different than how it is done in churches today.
biblically, "tongues" was when a group of men of different languages were lead by the Holy Spirit to all speak the same language so that they could understand one another. Those watching them rant & behave in amazement at what was happening called them names & said they were drunk, because THEY couldnt understand what was going on. They are not making fun of concept of speaking in tongues. They are making fun of what "passes" for speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance in many of our churches. There are actually some churches that are so obsessed with tongues that they do try and teach people how to speak in tongues.

Why on earth would He give gifts to speak in other known lang. heal the sick and lame (completely and instantly) oh, and raise the dead? but now, He only speaks in gibberish(no known lang.) makes the lame feel little better, and the sick eventually get well, and..(well no raising the dead huh? no.) why would HE be weaker? answer, its not HIM.

@Nhgube Yes it is but it starts directly in the churches. They do a mockery of speaking in tongues with their demonic babbling. Speaking in tongues is an ACTUAL language (tongue) that people speak. Then they should have an interpreter there. Don't be deceived by the religious and their erroneous ways. He is mocking them not the SET-APART SPIRIT. The religious are the ones who have made a mockery of it.

The Holy Spirit is nothing to "play" or "joke" around with! No one can teach you to speak in tongues. If you have the Holy Spirit the spirit itself will lead you to speak in tongues. Read the book of Acts in the Bible! God bless you!

Many churches are "TEACHING" people to speak in tongues. What happened to being spirit lead by God?
Tongues in Acts 2 in context means different languages. (Read Acts 2:6)The apostles were enabled to communicate with men from different nations in their own native tongues or language.
This is completely different than how it is done in churches today.

biblically, "tongues" was when a group of men of different languages were lead by the Holy Spirit to all speak the same language so that they could understand one another. Those watching them rant & behave in amazement at what was happening called them names & said they were drunk, because THEY couldnt understand what was going on. Speaking in tongues isnt blurting out an unknown language in church, even the bible says that it isnt tongues unless there is an interpreter. Faking it is retarded.

They are not making fun of concept of speaking in tongues. They are making fun of what "passes" for speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance in many of our churches. There are actually some churches that are so obsessed with tongues that they do try and teach people how to speak in tongues.
